The Promise of the Future-GSR RP

He smiled at her as he walked inside. He knew something was 'off' with her, so he takes a deep breath before asking her, "Catherine, I can tell theres something wrong, why don't you tell me what's up?"

(Gahhh......sorry for the short response Wyoming, It doesn't happen often *not this short anyway*)

Catherine's mood was irratic, one moment she was fine, and another moment she was...not fine. Warrick just happened to come in on a moment where she was not fine.

Her smile quickly faded, knowing that she was busted. She sighed and put her head in her hands. "Of course something is wrong, something is always wrong, that's the story of my life. I'm stuck in the middle here, Sam is on one side and Sara is on the other, I don't know which side to protect. I want to keep being friends with Sara, but I don't want Sam to go to jail either, because if that happens then my whole image at this lab is going to go sour becuase my father is a murderer. It's like he decides my fate, not me. And then on top of it all he had to be this big famous guy and now there are about thirteen news stations and newspapers outside wanting a statement from me that they aren't going to get and they aren't going away. I woke up this morning to a normal day, and it's not even 12 yet and it's horrible. I hate this," she said as she submitted to her feelings and leaned into Warrick, wanting the feel of his strong, supporting arms around her. She felt like she couldn't take it anymore.

Sofia was sitting in her cruiser, her sunglasses keeping her long, blonde hair tucked behind her ears. Her light blue button up blouse was undone 2 buttons down, exposing very little skin, as was protocol. She turned right into the Rampart Hotel's parking lot, seeing crime scene tape surrounding a section of the parking lot.

She walked up to Brass, who was stading right of the scene, talking to a tall man in a dark suit. Sofia removed her shades, tucking them into the neck of her shirt.

'What a scene,' she thought, looking around. Her eyes scanned the lot quickly. There was blood. Brass got her attention.

"That was our wittness," Brass said, tucking his notepad into his shirt. "The one who's placing Sam Braun as the shooter."

"Sam Braun," Sofia questioned, her soft accent perking Brass' ears. "What does he have against being a civil citizen?"

"Maybe not so much against being a civil citizen," Brass said, frowning, "But against obeying the law."

Hope that was fine. I've never played Sofia before.. Oh, and CSISidle gave me permission to use Sofia. Awsome storyline, guys! :)

"Well I talked to a guy at valet and he said he saw the car that came by here shooting. He said it was a red Mini Cooper with a black top, and he also said he saw it brush up against the hotel post. So if you like you can circle the parking lot and see if the car happens to be here, and also you can give Brass a call and give him the car description." Nick sighed, pulling on his gloves.

"I really don't feel like playing hide and seek, Greg." But Nick doubted what he said even went in one of Greg's ears.

"I'll try and get a paint sample, bye bye!" Sighing as Greg made his way to the post, Nick began rounding around the casino to the parking garage. Staring ahead, his shoulders drooped as he faced row after row of cars.

"This is unbelievable!" Walking down the aisles, camera at hand, Nick had been in the garage for around ten minutes when yelling came from two rows down.

"My car! God damn it! Who the-" Making his way carefully around the aisles to the yelling, Nick found a young man in his mid twenties, a blonde woman around the same age, and a red Mini Cooper with a black top.

"Sir? Sir?! Can I help you?" The fuming man turned, raising his hands up in the air.

"Yeah! Somebody broke into my car!" Walking closer, he noticed a scraping on the driver's side front bumper.

"Sir, is this your car?"
"Sure as hell it is!" Standing up, Nick pulled his cell phone out dialing Brass.
"Sir, your car now belongs to LVPD. Yeah, Brass, it's Nick. I'm up in the parking garage of the Rampart and I found a vehicle matching the description of the witness with paint scrapings in the same vicinity that the witness said the car hit the pole. First level, row 13, about twenty cars down. You'll find us, just look for the raving owner." Closing his cell phone, brushing off the comments about the 'meddling authorities', he shrugged his shoulders towards the owner as he awaited Brass's arrival.

Grissom barely had a chance to react as he watched before his eyes as Sara fell to the ground. He did not get to her fast enough to catch her before she fell, but was by her side immediately. "Sara?" He immediately questioned with concern as he rolled her over onto her side.

He heard a slight moan radiate from her soft, pale lips. "Sara, sweetie can you hear me?" Another dull moan escaped her mouth as her eyes fluttered open, and blinked back tears. "I will be right back," and with that he jumped up and raided through her refrigerator to see if she had orange juice or something sweet. He found a jug of apple juice, and poured a small glass of it.

He ran back into the living room as Sara was trying to sit up, but was a bit wobbly. "Here drink some of this! It should help," he demanded as he put the glass of apple juice in her hand. He then sat down behind her to help steady her as she took a small sip of her juice.

As Sara gulped the drink she couldn't help but wonder, "What just happened" she asked out loud. She had no clue about what had happened and why she was on the floor. She knew she wouldn't sit on the floor and drink apple juice on a regular basis. She felt the cold sweat trickling down her facew. She leaned back expecting to end up on the floor but ended up in Grissoms chest. She closed her eyes for a minute then reached up and grabbed the table to pull her self up. Once shew had stabalized her self, she sat down in a chair and motioned for Grissom to do the same. She continued to drink her apple juice as Grissom stood up and sat down across from her.

As soon as Catherine leaned into Warrick, he wrapped his strong arms around her and gave her a tight hug. With his chins resting on her head he whispers to her, "Hey, Cath. It's going to be alright, girl. You're strong and you'll get through this." He continues holding her like that, rubbing her arms soothingly as he waits for an answer.

"When is the last time you've had something to eat, Sara?" Grissom asked with concern in his voice. "You passed out."

He immediately stood up, and headed to the front door. "I'm going to go get you some food. You really need to eat, and I'm not taking no for an answer."

He grabbed his keys off the coffee table, and then headed to her front door.

"Well, I ate last night, no I didn't breakfast yesterday with the team." She said watching him get up and walk towards the door. "No, Grissom don't leave!" she pleaded a little to late because he had already walked out the door. She moved her leg underneath her and set her chin on her hand,Waiting for Grissom to return.

Greg heard Nick say, 'I really don't like playing hide in seek Greg.'
But Greg just tried to ignore him as he headed over to the post. He kneeled down, and started taking paint scapings, but then as about ten minutes past he heard someone yelling out in the parking lot. So He stood up and looked around.

He looked down one row and saw Nick standing there with his back to him. So Greg slowly made his way down to where Nick was standing, and then the young man who was talking to Nick popped up and said to Greg, "Are any of you going to help find out who broke into my car or not! Or am I going to have to force you to!"

Greg eyes widen, and then just waited. He then spoke up slowly and said, "Well Sir, I'm sorry but we have to wait for the police to get here before we can do anything else, this is a homicide investigation."
At about the time Greg said that, the guy took two steps forward toward Greg as he said, "Well there's about to be another homicide here!"

Catherine felt Warrick wrap his arms around her. She nuzzled her nose into the crook of his neck and calmed her crying. As long as she felt Warrick's strong arms around her, she was just fine. Her crying stopped completely, and she found herself melting into Warrick's embrace.

She pulled away and looked up at him. She blushed, thinking that he didn't feel the same way she did, so he was just doing this to comfort her, not because he wanted to. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cling to you," she said lightly as she sighed. "Would you like anything to drink?"

Grissom jumped into his Denali as a small part of him was eager to get away from the sadness. He wished he could make things better for Sara, but her pain was out of his hands. Part of him was hurt that she kept Stephen a secret from him.

He sighed as he pulled in front of a burger joint waiting to get to the drive thru to order her a veggie burger. He just felt her brother's death some how managed to push them further apart, and he wondered if he had known Stephen if things would have been different.

Sara leaned her head on her arm, which rested on the table. She realized that if Grissom had known about Stephan, maybe they would have been closer. She walked to her closet and grabbed a scrapbook. She sat down on her couch and slowly opened the book. The first picture was her and Stephan sitting in front of the lab when she first got her job in California. She looked at the picture, she gently swept her finger over Stephans face. A silent tear of dispair splashed on the plastic cover.

If Grissom had known about Stephan, They would have been closer. She felt like right now, she as pushing him away. She remembered the first time she saw him. She thought he would be a cocky know-it all boss. but he turned out to become one of her best friends and crush.

She heard her door open. Grissom walked in. She shoved the photo album under the couch and dried the few tears on her face.

He was not sure but it seemed Sara had been crying within the fifteen minutes that he left her alone. He looked up in time to see a small smile appear on her face, and his stare drilled into this moment. Not wanting to ever forget the way so looked. Her face beautiful as the pink tinted her cheeks; her brown eyes slightly glassy from the emotion that drained from them, and the smile was so small that he could barely see the gap between her front teeth. Her slightly wavy dark tresses seemed to carress her cheeks as they barely dusted over them. She was stunning in her world that had just been turned upside down, and the thought seemed ironic to him.

He cleared his throat slightly as he held up the bag of food. "You need something to eat. I realize food is probably the last thing on your mind, but that is why I'm here. To help pick up the pieces you forget. To somehow make your life easier when its seems so complicated and filled with too many problems that you literally forget to breath."

He took a seat next to her on her tan colored couch, and handed her the veggie burger. "Now eat." His voice firm as he smiled at her.
