I decided to stop lurking and declare my love for Jesse. I cannot get enough of him! I watched the first couple episodes of this season online and instantly knew I had a new favorite CSI.
I was dying during Hostile Takeover, I was worried about him. But I laughed at his reponse when asked why he was there. "Well, you forced us in here, as I recall." It sort of reminded me of something Speed would say.
He does seem to be a version of Speed. I like Jesse but I'd take my Speed back any day!
Sniff
, I wish Speed would come back too, he was the original Miami CSI that I liked and why I even bothered to watch the show despite all my mocking and teasing. But when he was gone, I didn't feel the desire to watch what I believed was a show that's too strange and cartoon-ish.
But Jesse Cardoza has changed all that for me! Once again, there is a sense of grounded reality and normalcy for me in this show! It's all because of Jesse! Thank heavens for the NORMAL person on Miami!!!
Jesse and Speed does seem to share many similarities, but I think Speed had more of a rough edge in his personality than Jesse has, he just seems to be a bit rougher in style while Jesse is a bit on the soft side. But hey, I adore them both!
Oh I wish we can see a Speed and Jesse scene! I mean, Jesse did say that Speed was a friend, I would love to see my boys together, even if it's just a flashback scene!!!! Maybe like have Jesse flashback and show that he was at Speed's funeral! That would be cute!
I really wanna see Jesse with kids for some reason, he seems like he would be the kind of guy who's great with kids! I mean, he's already wonderful with dogs, we just need kids to complete the package!! Gotta love a man with babies and puppies! LOL!
I've heard some unfavorable opinions about Jesse and it reminded me of when Ryan came in. I wasn't a big fan of Ryan in the beginning but I learned to like him because he is a great character too. But at first I felt as if he was replacing Speed.
I guess since I really don't mind what happens to Eric---terrible I know---it didn't matter that Jesse came on. It was also the way they introduced him, with being in the flashbacks. It was as if to say, 'hey, he was here already. he's just coming back for his old job.' not, 'eric is out, jesse is in'
Yeah, there are unfavorable opinions out there, but really, what more can they say? I've heard people call him bland and uninteresting, that he hasn't some interesting personality, that he's just a replacement for Eric and he could never take Eric's place, that he's hogging screentime and playing hero.
But I'm not worried about the negatives, I think Jesse's character is strong enough to battle through the storm and come out victorious! The writers have done a wonderful job with his introduction, it just seemed like he was always around, that he wasn't back to Miami to take over Eric's job, that he and Eric exists concurrently with each other. And as for some other people calling him bland and unintersting, I was glad to finally see a NORMAL person in Miami, I've had enough of the oh-so-turbulent history or some big whirlwind romance and over-the-top characters and dramatic relationships, so when Jesse came on as just your normal everyday guy who's cute, decent, and kind, I was just SO GLAD to see normalcy back in Miami! And really, screetime has gotten much better since Jesse's joining of the team, so I would think people would be thankful that it's finally not the Horatio-Hour every episode! And ultimately, I just don't care if Jesse's playing hero! He does it with kindness and humility and none of that egoistic arrogance or condescending-ness, so for all, I'm just glad to have Jesse around!
