i think we have a canadian version of the discovery channel, but the whole thing itself (tlc and animal planet included) is american. they throw in canadian shows for the canadian content rules :lol:
i remember i used to be so mad because shark week would be on in the states in august but in canada in september. when i was younger i couldnt stay up late enough to watch all of the shark shows :lol:
 
I think i have both DC, DC east and DC west but i dont know the difference, i also have it for Comedy chanel and Tv land and all them, so it's not like i have alot of chanels it's just alot of them are the same with just West and East.
 
the east and west thing on satellite (and digital cable i think) is just time zones. for example, when im at home i can watch csi at 9 as usual, or at 12 eastern time (since thats when it airs in the west) also some channels have an atlantic feed, so you can get some shows earlier ;)
 
For all those Hockey fans out there the 4 Nations Cup is going on in Kitchener, ON this week and so far the Canadian Women's Hockey Team is kicking some butt!! Exciting stuff. I was at the Canada vs USA game last night and it was amazing. these ladies know how to play good hockey. Going to the Canada vs Finland game friday. I wish i could go to the final on Saturday but i'm out of town, i guess TSN will have to do.

allmaple- Okay, that makes the sense. I know that Mythbusters is definitely American, but I do see a lot of Canadian shows too, so I figure you're right about Canadian Content Rules. Sharks were listed as one of the top ten creatures people are afraid of on the Halloween "Creature Countdown"! I love sharks. I was bitten by a small one in Australia and proudly carry a scar on my leg, but I scuba dive with them every chance I get :D

JulieAnn- when has a Canadian women's hockey team NOT kicked butt? we've got the best women's hockey in the world :D

Yay! A Map! I was all happy with it and then it blew up because my computer started spewing it's internal guts out. And now there's bolts all over my dining room floor. Thank God for Colleges with 100 million computers! Anyhoo.

*small dance* It's confirmed! In 2008... I'm probably hightailing it to Vancouver! Watch out, Mina, Ziggy, and the rest of you who I will randomly attack in a bariage of potato Salad-like seiges. :B

SO! I heard it's +14 in Southern Canada. REVOLT!

As for the temperature, I'm not sure exactly what it is here. But I can tell you that it's 9am and I'm wearing sweats and a tank top and can comfortably go outside for a smoke on the balcony without anything else on. I love Vancouver. I love it so much it hurts me.
 
OMG Oilers, you can do better then 3 to 0 like seriously! you got 14 shots and none of them went in, while Detroit got 45 or something like that shots and got 3 of them in :mad: i might not like hockey but Oilers is what Edmonton is famous for, well that and WEM.

Finland :eek: Man we will so lose :( Finnish women are so lame compared to Canadians :( those Canadians have some balls (and yet they are bigger).

We've been usually 3rd - after Canada and USA
(occasionally lost to Sweden :p )

Like seriously i hate hockey to!! it is so boring but i have to cheer for The Oilers or peeps at my school will beat on me like seriously!

Anyhoo.

Rodeo is dominating the news. If it's not Hockey, it's something else! I mean really... for once I'd like to watch a Rugby game that I didn't have to whine my friend to tape...
