My cousin was in the last winter olympics, the ones in Italy. He was on the Luge team. He was in about 13th place until he whiped out. He was okay, just a bit sore. Then he went and played drinking games with his friends... then immediatly after did a CBC TV interview  He did really well, though. Couldn't even tell he'd been drinking

If I can avoid it, I won't watch CTV. I mean, their such jerks. You click to watch... say, CSI:NY on Wednesday at 8:00 on CBS and what happens? It's all Canadian commercials and they don't show you the preview to the next episode. I mean, ANGERS UP THE BLOOD it does.

Not that the American commercials are better. But seriously. I do like previews to the next episode so I know that I SHOULD tune in next week. And plus, I'm sick of seeing all the repeat commercials on the Canadian networks. I have seen that stupid commercial for the retarded "Steeped" tea a million times! It makes me scream with anger! Anger I tells ya!

On an unrelated topic, anyone know where the bollocks "1380 Burrard Street" is in Vancouver. I'm poking a stick at you, Ziggy! :3

^ That's why I don't watch anything on CTV anymore. I'll tune into CSI:NY on channel 15 so I can catch the previews of the next episode. I love my country but when it comes to previews dammit I wanna see my previews.

Palm, here is a map to 1380 Burrard Street :D. You could always get off at the Burrard skytrain station and walk.

Ooh, guess what! My mom's bakery gave 17 boxes/over 400 pieces of cheese & mushroom bre(sp?} to the River Rock Casino for the Gemini Awards. That means a whole lotta Canadian stars ate my mom's food. Also, the crew from Smallville keeps coming in for spanakopita/spinach pie. Apparently the cast loves it!

    Great success! *two thumbs up*

hey, how do you get american commercials? even if i watch something on the american stations if its on at the same time as ctv plays it their feed comes through on the american station! and even if i do watch csi or ncis on cbs sometimes ctv doesnt cut out in time to see the previews :(
we always miss most of the superbowl commercials since global carries it, basically you see the same few over and over and over....

I use shaw cable so we basically got digital cable & with that we got like, 4-5 channels that show the shows from CBS, NBC, FOX at Detriot time which is 3 hours ahead of my timezone. Because it's not part of basic cable & because it's a total American station there are never any Canadian commercials. I watch CSI:NY, House, SNL, The Office & occasionally Mad TV & Conan on the Detriot stations.

Gah and I'm stuck with CBS and CTV for all my CSI shows. I've been egging my parents to get digital cable so we'd get more channels and then I'd get to see my fav shows earlier, but they keep thinking that if there's a snow storm the cable's going to go out. I don't think they know that there is no satellite dish on the house for that to happen.

    Plus, I want the CW.

in the winter we have to go outside with a broom to get the snow off the satellite dish  we were a trial neighbourhood of bells 'fiberoptic cable' but it was too expensive to keep up so they gave everyone involved a good deal when they switched to satellite. i think to get the same packages we have on satellite on cable the cost would almost double, so we have to deal with the canadian weather knocking out the signal :(

That's how we work. Quickly and silently.

I think for digital cable, it's around 250$ for the setup or something like that. I guess it also depends on which company you subscribe with. *shrugs* But it does seem a tad more expensive to have cable, as opposed to satellite.

kicky I have the same problem with satellite...I'll ask someone what channel something is on and they'll be like "channel 12" or something and I get all confused and then have to spend four hundred hours trying to search for the name on the guide and for my own benefit they all have to be abbreviated so its like CBCWE and I'm like what???....you are not alone....satellite still wins over cable though hands down :p

I have boring basic cable. It makes me happy. As long as I get CTV, Global, and Discovery, I feel fulfilled. *peaceful face* I mute all the commercials anyway.

But.. but.. I thought Discovery was a Canadian channel! That's so sucky. Daily Planet rules. I also love How It's Made, Mythbusters, Creature Countdown, Patent Bending.. yeah I'm a nerd. I have subscriptions to Discover and National Geographic and I watch Discovery and TKN more than any other channels. sigh.

I love mythbusters! Unfortunately, I don't have any channels that carry it. Yeah, I just have the basic cable package, and it sucks :(
