CSI Level One
I LOVE THAT GUY! He's hilarious and he has a great personality. Way to go casting directors!

I was on location all day yesterday and talked to DC, Rex, Togo, Emily, a writer (who told me what they were shooting, who was in the shots, and when they were ending filming for the day), and just in general listening to the crew chat. Pictures will be up soon prolly tomorrow.
Ryan will be stepping up his role basically filling in delko's shoes for a bit. It seems like they were going to have Eddie in that position, but from the shooting yesterday there was a lot of Ryan..Eddie didn't even get to set before I left (at least I didnt see him at all). I was there from like 9am-330pm and they stopped shooting at 7pm. Emily got there around 3 and she said hair & make-up takes like 45 min.
Was in cali for the week on vacation, met up & hung with A. Zuiker for his book signings, and saw family.
The storylines for him aren't really that good though in terms of ... well, he's always in trouble in some way or another. Just once I want him to be given a storyline where he's the hero and in a way that no one can dispute (unlike WISC where he had to do the wrong thing for the right reasons- to save an innocent little boy). I think they should have a scene where Ryan's questioning a witness and there's a pool nearby and some kids playing. One kid falls into the pool, the woman screams "my baby!" Ryan jumps into the pool, pulling the kid out. And the mother thanks him profusely.
It would be great if the writers didn't repeat the same history season after season as far as Ryan's character. He does get about one really good story a season. It's good in the fact that JT may get to show various ranges of emotion(which he is great at) but the character always comes out of it not looking the greatest. There is always a lot of discussion, disagreement and sometimes outrage over the episode(which maybe what is wanted by TBTB and writers) but there is no reason why Ryan can't do something great and still be a cause for discussion. The Ryan in trouble, can he be trusted, blah blah is really old.
I say they pass that torch onto the new guy and let Ryan do everything right for a change. There is already that one spoiler about Jesse questioning a suspect without their council present or was it looking through a suspect's belongings without a warrant? I forget. Either way, that's a pretty big no no. It won't hold up in court (the evidence I mean).
Eric is going to have to deal with the ramifications. I don't doubt he'll be suspended, just be lucky that he isn't Ryan because then he'd just get fired!
No doubt- Ryan will fill his getting in trouble quota this season. -rolls eyes-
Ho-hum, what can I say. These characters do change & take on new characteristics as the seasons progress, perhaps tptb are done making Ryan out to be the one who makes all the mistakes -- maybe that was just a piece in his overall development. Not that I think he'll ever do wrong ever again, but tptb do have the opportunity to turn him around, & I think eventually they will.
I thought I was the only fan that noticed Eric made mistakes in the earlier seasons, like we all do or did when just starting out.Speedle handled it well and Eric took it well, there was no blame or tension because of it.While I was watching some of the earliest episodes (with Speedle), it really hit home to me how much Eric has come and how much he has developed and matured. Speedle was the older mentor, the stable, more "together" one. Eric, on the other hand was more inexperienced, and made youthful mistakes, which Speed addressed in his own way. When Speedle died, the mentor role passed to Eric (one he didn't seem to relish that much with Ryan what with Eric's grieving for Speed and Ryan's brashness and youthful aggressiveness).
I was just saying this to someone, the the writers seem too comfortable sometimes when writing stories for certain characters,Ryan being one of the characters discussed. There is always the Ryan in trouble story and writers seem to have a hard time moving beyond that. The writers need to challenge themselves, let the character or characters grow, like everyone does in life.At the risk of ending this posting on a negative note, I guess I'll believe it when I see it. When one seems lazy and lacks imagination, one will revert back to what they know best and the writers on this show seem to know how to get Ryan into constant trouble

I just went back and peeked at those pics of our shirtless Jesse. (Kind of bored this evening)
Not only does he look like he's mooning the lab, but me thinks the poor guy's cold.
^ Agreed, I think he looks & feels more comfortable without the suit jackets and such. I think he needs to wear more dress shirts with the sleeves rolled up.
As I said a million times before, if Jesse is suddenly H's wing man, it wouldn't surprise me. I have been getting that kind of feeling from the spoilers. Worst case scenario...Jesse will be H's perfect wing man, Natalia will be non-existent and Ryan will continue to get in trouble trying to do the right thing.
If you're referring to the statement EC made when he said the team knows who he is but no one knows why he's returned, then yeah, I guess one could look at that as possibly having a secret. As with any new character I'm sure he's got some dirty laundry that will be exposed as the season rolls on.H hasn't seen Jesse in 12 years and a man can change in 12 years. And didn't they hint that Jesse was supposed to have a secret?!

:guffaw::guffaw:Wouldn't that be a hoot?If you're referring to the statement EC made when he said the team knows who he is but no one knows why he's returned, then yeah, I guess one could look at that as possibly having a secret. so is it still too much for me to ask that he is a serial killer?
