I Can't believe that Langston's gone, but anyway, BRING ON NEXT SEASON!!!

I'm on board with making Marc Vann a series regular....especially if Ecklie's daughter is coming to the Vegas lab....maybe Ecklie ends up being demoted because of all the Haskell/Langston mess to a CSI and has to work with his daughter. and it's already been established the problems between them
that might make it more soap opera like but it could work as a more realistic story as opposed to a new serial killer...make it more about the characters and their working relationships
I agree with this. That's one of the reasons why I liked the way they introduced Langston. He was a newbie who had vast experience in other fields, but not criminal forensics, and so as he was learning, we got to learn with him. Very much like early seasons of "CSI" (before we seemed to know it all).I really like the idea of them bringing in someone new...as in a relatively new CSI. One of the things I liked when Fishburne first started was how he was so eager to learn the ropes. After watching the show from the beginning, it's kind of nice to see it all through new eyes. A newbie would be good to see...for me, anyway.
Not sure who...but....
Laurence Fishburne is LEAVING!
EXCLUSIVE: After two-and-a-half seasons, Laurence Fishburne is leaving CSI. The Oscar-nominated actor's deal on the show was up and he opted not to renew it. He is expected to return to features full-time. It was a major coup for CBS to land Fishburne as a successor to original star William Petersen who left the series in December 2008. But when he last renewed his contract for CSI last May, Fishburne only did it for one season. After ten-and-a-half seasons as CBS' Thursday 9 PM anchor, CSI is moving to Wednesday 10 PM this fall. I hear CBS and the veteran crime drama's producers were not surprised by Fishburne's decision. "Nobody expected him to be on the show for 7 years," one insider said. "He is Laurence Fishburne!". Fishburne will next be seen in Steven Soderbergh's thriller Contagion.

If this is true , if not, we're all coming after you, Shane.
Despite everything, I did like Langston just NOT how tptb handled it.
I do feel bad for Fishburne, though. All of us complaining about Langston and it wasn't because of him. It was tptb that screwed up.
He did step into a tough situation, but maybe CSI can get back to CSI now.
And if they don't make George the lead :scream: there'll be trouble. We DON'T need another big name person.
I still say George and Marg could have carried the show. What tptb seem to forget is that we are all invested in these characters.
It's going to be a scary summer.
Also saw this article, which is complimentary about Fishburne and, I think, a pretty good assessment of the situation (the crack about Charlie Sheen near the end is funny): http://www.nydailynews.com/entertai...ill_with_departure_from_cbs_csi_as_dr_ra.html

None of them ring a bell with me except for Jesse L. Martin. I thought he was wonderful on Law & Order and wouldn't mind seeing him find a home on another crime procedural.

Dylan McDermott: If the show wants to keep the same template for the CSI team leader, it could do a lot worse than McDermott, who had years of brooding intensity on "The Practice" and proved pretty adept in the cop-show world on TNT's "Dark Blue."
Elizabeth Mitchell: Intelligence? Check. Ability to be flinty when called for? Check. Someone who deserves a lead role in a series? Check and check.
Mark Valley: The former "Human Target" star can either go quietly intense (see his "Fringe" role) or swaggering and cocky (see "Keen Eddie," still our favorite role of his), depending on how the show crafts the new character. Bonus: His character could have a running competition with Nick Stokes (George Eads) over who has the squarer jaw.
Jennifer Beals: So first, seeing Beals on TV again might ease our disappointment at the cancellation of "The Chicago Code." But she's also a fine actress who could easily slip into the world of "CSI," and after seeing her as the head of an entire police force we wouldn't have much trouble envisioning her as the leader of a small team of investigators.
