Episode 8x20 - "Backfire" - ***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

^ None at all, Ryan is himself in this epi :)

Thank god! I'll probably watch the ep at ten that way I can ffwd through the commercials. I get so tired of commercials. So did he look hot when he got wet? What am I saying? Of course he did. They didn't cut that scene did they?

LOL no it is still in, Ryan always looks hot :) Calleigh got a laugh seeing him get wet. Poor guy thought it was a waste of time, not to his fans it wasn't :)

I really liked this epi. But I thought there was supposed to be a big defining moment for Eric and Calleigh about their relationship. Maybe it was just me but I didn't see that. Anybody else?

Some of my initial thoughts...

Pretty awesome episode. :) I think this ranks up there with 'Miami, We Have A Problem' as one of my favourites this season. There was a pretty decent amount of everyone in the episode, and there were some really well-written portions (namely the nutty neighbor and the contractor).

Ryan was awesome in this episode. :D I had to giggle when he got soaked by the sprinkler system. And he wasn't as snarky to Tom in this episode; they seemed to get along quite well. I do wish that he wouldn't come to his decisions so quickly and focus on the evidence, but maybe they want that to be part of the way he functions as a CSI. Gut first, evidence later.

Considering the idea of the episode, I thought it was pulled off pretty well. My only problem with it was the fact that Eric was in the hospital room when she was being defibrulated. Pretty sure they would escort him out of the room right away and shut the door in his face. They don't have time to deal with the angry/panicky significant other when they're trying to do their job. Anyway.

Love when Jesse and Walter work together. :D Not to mention Jesse's quite nice to look at. :p

As for the Eric/Calleigh moments, I actually enjoyed them. I didn't think they detracted from the episode and it seemed pretty tasteful and understandable given the situation. I might not like Eric very much (frankly, he's become increasingly annoying over the past few seasons) but his moments were nice touch, I thought. *shrugs*

Overall, I liked it.

The 'defining moment' - if any - might have been with regards to another episode/the season as a whole and not necessarily this episode (which is the impression I got from reading the excerpt).

I agree about Ryan's fast decisions.I 'm hoping that the writers use this trait of his in the episode that he is set up in.Maybe he will become less likely to come to fast conclusions after his own troubles.I hope to see a lesson learned at some point.

So, they're pulling a Stella on Ryan? People were complaining a couple of eps ago about Stella's gut instincts.

There were a few complaints about Stella, but not too bad. I did see one complaint about Ryan somewhere else, but someone else did point out that Ryan wasn't the only one that thought the kid quilty.

SO OMG. I absolutely *LOVE, LOVE, LOVED* it. My favorite so far this season. It was 'Miami, we have a problem', but this one took the cake! I mean, wow. Not what I was expecting. If they can pull off the final few episodes like this- then I say- they've convinced me they want a REAL change.

Where do I start? First of all, I was exceptionally PLEASED with Ryan's character in this episode. It was so HIM. No crazy.. scatter brained statements. Like when he was questioning the lady who killed the plumber, his remarks were SO Ryan. And his interaction with Jesse/Walter... (And Calleigh!) A+++ ! Also appears he and Tom are on a middle ground. Nice going! I hope they keep this up for him. Made me smile! ALSO.. the sprinkler scene.. THANK you TBTB, for giving that to Ryan as opposed to Jesse. Ha ha! It was something I really enjoyed seeing, needless to say. It was cute too, how they played it off!

Now... Calleigh/Eric. I am no shipper, but I'm not really against them either, unless it takes over the entire episode. This was what I thought ,for this episode, initially. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was blended nicely, and FIT perfectly. I wouldn't mind seeing THAT type of on screen relationship at all. I have to admit, Eric has been going down on my list for quite some time, but I'm interested in seeing if they re-do his character somewhat in the coming season. With this potential, after the show tonight, I think they could do it very well.

Let's not forget the overall episode. Great case. Very different than anything I've ever seen on Miami. I like, no no LOVE, how they played it up that Cal was in the hospital! So.. sixth sense-ish. I KNEW when she walked in, and Ryan gave her the um.. 'cold shoulder' if you will... she wasn't really there. He never directly spoke to her. Just called her a 'hero'. Very nicely played. I kind of thought they played it like.. he was ignoring her because he was upset the kid died infront of him.. which worked out nicely. I only caught it as soon as it happened because I am a horror movie junkie so it jumped out and bit me! (LOL)

Just.. over all, well done. I wouldn't have trusted these writers this time last year with such stuff, but they did NOT let me down this time. Now I'm just more excited for the final few!!! I think that's about it. If not, I'm sure I'll be back..

I don't think you need to put anything in spoilers anymore, just so you know. Unless it's about upcoming episodes and not this one.

I'm glad to see everyone is liking it though. It's nice to have a good episode every once in a while, that most of the fans like. :D Especially when it seems like it's only gonna go downhill, and then it lifts back up like that.

It may have helped that a lot of people weren't expecting much from this episode given the description which made it sound like a crossover with Ghost Whisperer or Medium. I guess people were pleasantly surprised by it. I'm gonna go try to watch the ep right now... if I don't get sleepy and fall asleep before I get the tape rewound. I don't know if I'll come back right after and post my thoughts or if I'll wait till the morning. :)

-They didn't need anymore heroes and then calliegh and the police woman are the ones who end up being saved :wtf:... Ooookay

-Calliegh actually listening to Ryan and going to the hospital.

-Oh great Calliegh back at work ... she's probably gonna have another heart attack again.

-Calliegh talking to herself... I really liked that part.

-wait no calliegh in the hospital... Ryan looked so worried. HAWT

-Jesse and walter scenes. Love them together:thumbsup:

-THANK YOU! a show that finally realises that you can't talk after major health issues.

A+

first of all I loved that patrick he was playing very nice.
Sad Ryan he was playing so worried when Cal needed to go to the hospital. And H. standing outside the room looking happy .xD
And the Calleigh/Patrick scenes I love. Emily did an amazing Job I loved Ryan with Tom he was very funny:lol: (that face AMAZING) and I loved ofcourse Calleigh/Eric.
Calleigh wearing white that was a wonder (o shit she was a ghost xD)
JUST AN AMAZING EPISODE I liked it just as much as the other good ones..

Did anybody laugh when Walter tried to throw the feathers at Jesse? I laughed so hard!

Creepy, that neighbor actually reminds me of two students I work with at my college for the disabilities office. I'm slightly scared to go to work tomorrow now,

Overall, I thought this was an excellent episode! Though, I was screaming at the tv when Ryan got soaked, "take off the shirt!!! take off the shirt!" sigh, oh well, right?
