So, Rhonda was wanting to know how far in advance we should get our tickets.
I'm not sure exactly what she wanted to know, but she said to ask how early we needed to buy the tickets.

Burbank Extended Stay Inn is a good place IMO if you're wanting to stay longer too. I stayed there many times in 2005 when I was in LA for extended periods of time. Great location too- walking distance to NBC Studios, Warner Brothers, etc... and close to the mall, grocery stores (if you wanna cook for yourself) and transit

I've been in LA twice so far and yeah, the Universal Studios tour is pretty good. It's a theme park so we had the occasional shark show up as we were crossing this lake or Godzilla threatening to kill us all... if you like this kind of stuff it's a nice experience.
For the same price, I though the NBC tour was much more interesting because that one gets you inside the real deal. You see locations of various TV shows, sound stages and stuff, and that's what I'm really interested into.
As for the Santa Monica Pier, that one's a must. I know I loved it.

Same! Ergh, I went downstairs and was all casual, found Mum, she said '
hi, what can I do ya for?' and I was like
'Mum, what would you say if, you know, everything was organized, safe and sound, but er, can I go to LA?' She kinda sat, shocked and went,
'Er....hi, what can I do ya for?' so I uess that was a no! But, Im persuading! Slowly bringing it into conversation! :lol:

wow this sounds like such an amazing trip!!!! Im booking my holiday this weekend to go to New York in october.. and u can be sure that i f wasnt going there i would soooooo come to LA!!!! Damn it!!! :lol: well, i shall just have to look forward to the famous highlights post that MrsG Does so well hehe make sure all you girls have a great time!!!
Oh, and is JKLadis going to show up?! where is he these days? not still in the bush?! :lol: :lol:

I've been wondering how I was going to use the ticket I have to LA that I had to postpone due to work conflicts. Now I have a perfect solution.
I'm not afraid to meet anyone in person on here, infact I'm excited. A fun weekend in the sun. Oh I'm there. ;-)
As for it not being a "Girls Gone Wild Weekend"...oh come on lets put aside at least one night of total girls gone wild... I mean after all we'll want stories to tell on the board throughout the year!! ;-) LOL!

Legal age in the States is indeed 21. However, like I said...if we do end up doing the strip club, there will be an alternate activity for that night. I know not everyone is 21, and we will work around that. There will be some sort of underage friendly activity planned for every night, even if there's a club outting planned that evening.

For all those considering coming--hope you can make it! I know it's expensive, especially for those of you coming from overseas. That's why we decided to plan 6 months in advance--to hopefully give people time to save money and purchase plane tickets well in advance. Again...I realize for overseas folks it's still not a whole lot of warning, but this seemed like the best time overall. I hope some of you will be able to make it.
The NBC tour sounds fun! I've not been on any lot tours save for a few private ones, so I'm curious as to how they work. I know they're not super-cheap, but they tend to be pretty memorable and unique to L.A.

My thoughts exactly. Next year - I could be so there. That gives me plenty of time to get the funds together (because remember it's not just the AIRFARE - it's accommodation, spending money for meals etc ... I can count on $4000 as a minimum).
It would be so cool if CSI NY is still running next year, all the cool people on this board will still be here, and it happens again!
