I think that Masters got suspended for failing a drug test. Oh well, he wasn't a really good wrestler anyway, he wasn't over with the crowds at all.
Watching ECW One Night Stand, I really miss the kind of crowds that ECW brought in. In the WWE, you hear some chants during matches, or during promos, but the chants you hear are tame compared to the ones that the crowd came up with during ONS. Cena and Orton got excoriated by the crowd; when Cena tried to throw his shirt into the crowd as per his usual mannerism, the crowd threw it back. Everytime he tried throwing his shirt into the crowd, the crowd would throw it back, some guy even spit on it and wiped his butt with it before throwing it back. Everytime he tried one of his moves, the crowd would chant "Same Old Sh**" or "You Can't Wrestle". Orton, during his match with Kurt Angle, would crawl out of the ring, leading the crowd to chant "P***y!" Those are probably some of the tame ones, the rest I cannot write on here myself, go to the Wikipedia of One Night Stand 2006 to find some of the crowd chants.
RVD is the new WWE champion, and he will christen the belt the new ECW World Heavyweight Title. I knew he would have to win, lest the crowd of 3000 at the Hammerstein Ballroom burn that building down if Cena won. There was a great sign that someone broght in saying "If Cena wins, we riot!"
Oh, and one huge travesty of the entire night was that The Sandman came out to some generic music. Like I said earlier, the greatest wrestler entrance is The Sandman entering to "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. If you saw last year's One Night Stand on DVD or a rebroadcast, they replaced the music on that one as well. Go to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBdA-3zcv_g for the original entrance from last year, with "Enter Sandman" playing. Notice that EVERYONE in the audience is singing along.
Oh, and the Rey Mysterio-Sabu match ended in a no-contest, which kind of defeats the purpose of ECW, but I guess they wanted to protect both wrestlers. However the spot that ended the match was just absolutely sick. Sabu performed a triple-jump springboard DDT through a table onto the arena floor. In other words, Sabu ran across the ring, jumped onto a chair, jumped from the chair to the top rope, jumped from the top rope to a standing Mysterio, grabbed his head, and without his feet touching the table, DDT'd Mysterio through the table onto the floor. I found out later that both wrestlers were fine after that insane move, but, to quote the fan reaction, "HOLY S***!" You might be able to find highlights from this and other matches on YouTube.
