Okay, this is my honest opinion: I feel sorry for how Cena was treated during ONS by the fans. I know that he comes off crappy at times already, but he's still a human being who deserves respect. He works his butt out there to entertain us, and this is how we repay them? Like, how would you feel if people treated you like crap?

* * *

When I first sensed that ECW and WWE are going for a sort of "war" or rivalry, I decided that siding with ECW would be better. I dunno, maybe I should treat both brands equally.

For some reason, it kind of bugs me that ECW (including fans) trash talks WWE, and you know, I feel for WWE. They're just entertaining us. When I first watched WWE, I didn't care if it's real or not. IT'S JUST ENTERTAINMENT. I didn't take anything personally, it was just a fandom.

So that's how I'll look at both WWE and ECW... IT'S JUST ENTERTAINMENT...

The only reason I put up with WWE is because I'm a fan of Rey Mysterio. There, I said it.

Triple H is starting to get in my good side. I didn't like him when I first watched him and hated him more during his stoyline with Cena, but now, with DX kind of coming back, Triple H, you're one of my faves! I just don't like anyone in the Evil Empire that of the McMahons.

I like Triple H too! If I'm not mistaken, DX Is back! :D Good times, good times...

When I first watched WWE, I didn't care if it's real or not. IT'S JUST ENTERTAINMENT. I didn't take anything personally, it was just a fandom

Same here. I don't really care what happens; to me, it's just a show to entertain people, nothing more.

When I first sensed that ECW and WWE are going for a sort of "war" or rivalry, I decided that siding with ECW would be better. I dunno, maybe I should treat both brands equally.

Yup, but if I had to choose, I'd choose WWE. I've stuck with it for far too long.

To Cena's credit, he knew that when he entered the Hammerstein Ballroom that night, he would get blasted by the fans in attendance. Rather than cry about it, he ran with it, actually toying with the crowd by repeatedly throwing his shirt back into the audience (only to get it thrown back), and taunting them during the match. He knew that he was to play the heel that night, and did a great job at that, and apparently he loved the crowd reaction that night. For professional wrestlers, if they are getting booed or cheered, they are doing something right. The worst thing you can do to them is not react to them at all.

As with DX coming back, that was the second biggest mark out moment of the year, next to the Joey Styles worked shoot. I knew it was coming for the past few months, yet when I saw it on TVs, I couldn't help but freak out seeing it. The only reason I put Styles's promo over this is because no one expected Styles to be able to say what he said, plus what he said pretty much reflected what many wrestling fans thought.

Like I said, the ECW television show after ONS really sucked. The only bright spot was The Zombie coming out and cutting a promo, although the only thing The Zombie had to say was "UNGGGGHHH, UNGGGHHHH, UNGGGHHHH!" When he came out to the ring for a match, I was like, what the hell is this? It seemed like something that the WWE would come up with, not Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer. I was laughing hard when he did that promo, though. Although he only said "UNGGGHHH" throughout the promo, he was actually more coherent than The Great Khali. I think the only reason they brought the guy in dressed as a zombie is to say F You to the Sci-Fi network for telling them to have more science fiction elements in their show. Basically, after The Zombie's promo, he got his head caned off by The Sandman (still sans-"Enter Sandman", boo!)

I had my reservations about Big Show in ECW, and didn't know what to think when he came out during ONS to beat up on The Full Blooded Italians, Super Crazy and Tajiri. I changed my mind when I saw HOW he beat up on them. Rather than the normal push, push, chokeslam, chokeslam, he had some good moves. The one that changed the crowd's mind and really made them jump was a cobra clutch backbreaker. That one was really sick.

Finally, RVD was handed the ECW World Heavyweight Championship during the SciFi Television show. He immediately accepted the ECW belt, but decided to keep the WWE Spinner belt as well. This makes me believe that he is going to job to Edge at Vengeance. Actually, I am more than certain that he is going to job to Edge. By him keeping both belts, he can lose the WWE belt back to Raw, and still keep his ECW belt.

I'll elaborate on my defense reagarding Cena's case regarding ECW fans. I've always been told that "respect begets respect" and you know, since I'm back to school as a junior, my teacher always tell us about respect, and I think to myself (with the case), "No matter how much Cena is starting to turn out predictable and undeserving of his championship or whatever... he still deserves respect." Though, yeah, I liked that he just went with the flow and took it like a man...

Honestly, I don't get it why some hate John so much. Yeah, I see that he practically does the same old crap everytime he's in the ring, but you know, that's his MO.

Okay, what if I told you that CSI can be predictable? And we all know that CSI is all of our fandom. Honestly, I don't join in on pro-wrestling for to become a violent or war-freak person, but for the sake of being entertained and learned a few defense moves (some of the illegel manuevers like a Low Blow can be used for self-defense), not because I'm barbaric, but I'm not saying we, Wrestling fans, are that way.
Though it bugs me when people sterotype us wrestling fans as "immature" and "barbaric", I say "no" to that.

Just to set the record straight: I don't have anything against ECW or WWE or its fans, I'm just saying what I want even if it comes out brutal or whatever, but I'm just doing what ECW fans do with their freedom of speech...

I used to have an intense dislike for Cena but after seeing how he was treated at ONS, I actually felt some sympathy for him. The least that you could do is respect him for coming to an ECW event.

Welcome to my world. People I talk to... when I say I like wrestling, they all go "Oooh, sweaty, stupid men in tights gropping and grunting at each other?". Pfft. There's more to wrestling than that.

I've always been taught about respect, as I said...

That's why I watch wrestling behind my dad's back. He thinks it's "too violent" and "barbaric". Stupid, ain't it? I actually get conversations in school bec. of wrestling. I find it entertaining and I pick up moves.

My dad knows I watch wrestling, ever since I started watching it when I was 7. He worries how I might turn out! My older bro and I are the only hardcore fans.

I think it is because for the while he was champion when he was on RAW, his feuds against Angle and Jericho exposed him as a weak wrestler who has to be carried in matches. It showed that he has about only 5 moves which he executes about average at best, and he doesn't really sell the opponents' moves well either. People probably noticed this and felt that the champion should not have to be carried in matches by his opponents, that guys that bust their butts to get Cena over shouldn't have to job to him week after week. Yet the donkeys in the creative department insist on keeping the belt on him week after week while the other wrestlers who should be getting pushes are told to job to him week after week. Also, what got Cena really over with the crowds was his ability to cut a promo, ala freestyling. People loved his character when he was more of a tweener, during his 'thuganomics' angle. Now, he seems to be more of a pure babyface, going away from what got him on the crowds side. In summation, it is probably a combination of his wrestling skills, Creative deciding to keep the belt on him, and a change in demeanor.

Honestly, I don't know if the new ECW is going to work. The old ECW catered more to the adults, and to the smark community (those who know wrestling is staged, yet still enjoy it). They didn't spend time trying to think up some ridiculous gimmicks and angles that do nothing more than insult the average wrestling fan's intelligence. They spent more time concentrating on what happened inside the ring. Honestly, I think that ECW fans became ECW fans because of frustration over the product that the WWE and WCW were putting out, and were looking for an alternative.

As for the chants at ONS, I felt that the crowd MADE the show. ECW fans were always known to be very vocal on what they liked and didn't like. Like I said in the previous paragraph, ECW in the past catered more to the smark community, who wanted to see good wrestling. If the fans saw a good chain of wrestling moves by both competitors, that would generally be met by huge applause. They would cheer insane spots as well, however if one of the wrestlers botched a spot, they let him know it. Whether you are getting cheered or booed as a wrestler, you are getting noticed, which helps you in the future. When the crowd has absolutely no reaction to you whatsoever (Look at the WWE crowds when some of the lesser wrestlers come in), that is the worst reaction you could get as a wrestler.

DX being back seems like nostalgia in a good way... and I'll love it. Thank God that SD has The Miz, coz I'm not that in to the whole blood bath and everything.

Though, Thank goodness that Rey finally won a non-title match. Last Friday with Gregory Helms (on a Champ vs. Champ match). Just when I thought WWE was making him seem like a crappy champ who can't find another day...

A 619 usually does it ^.

Speaking of Rey, I said he had the best smile in WWE, here's kind of why:

What is up? No one's around...

Hmmm... anyway, I was watching SmackDown! yesterday, and I can not get over the vission of Vito in a gown! They came up with this story line that Vito's been spotted around wearing women's clothes, and this is one heck of a hilarious storyline!

Yes! I finally found a Rey Mysterio fan site!

With Eddie...

Awesome pics. ;)

Sorry for my lack of posting... I just didn't know what to post.

I watched RAW on Tuesday and the DX reunion was just so good! I love watching HBK and Triple H together!

Hi there! I used to watch WWE and Smackdown alot...but I have grown bored of it sort of. But I was watching it a few weeks ago, and I noticed a lack of batista...I love him a lot! Does anyone know what happened to him? Sorry if someone has said something before...im just to lazy to read all the posts and do my own research . My sister thinks Batista retired? Is that true? If so awww :( Oh and I heard about Eddie...I saw that episode where they were saying goodbye...I cried...like a baby.
Also I love John Cena, what a fox...

Batista suffered a back muscle injury when he was chokeslammed by Big Show and Kane a while back. If I can remember correctly, Eddie Guerrero was supposed to win the World Heavyweight Championship, and Batista was supposed to take some time off after losing the championship to treat his injury. Sadly, Guerrero died the day this was supposed to happen, so Batista wrestled with his injury until they could write him out by saying that he suffered a tricep muscle injury at the hands of Mark Henry, and he vacated the title. But he is coming back in less than 2 weeks.

Batista will be back, yes! My {i]Kababayan[/i]... (he's part Filipino)

I've thought about it, and I like WWE better than ECW. Why? WWE seems to be more appropriate for my age. I'm only 15, and it's kind of awkward for me to handle ECW's "suicidal-homicidal-genocidal", hardcore brutality, but I give credit to ECW's wrestlers for being able to risk their selves for entertainment's sake. Same goes for WWE superstars. They leave their family and friends to work their butt off to wrestle and entertain us all year long.

I also did a survey among my schoolmates (more like my fellow juniors) and they like WWE better. To them, ECW's a little "too violent". Okay, so they're not smarks (I'm picking up slang from you, Captain Miracle51, ;-) ;-)..), but they're very much aware that it's staged, though they don't really know what goes on off-screen (Like I do..)

Okay, so I was watching ECW ONS 2005 last Sunday, and I wasn't impressed with it. But I totally respect your like for it, guys. Let's just say, I enjoy wrestling with rules and not "too extreme", that's my ideal entertainment. But if you guys are huge ECW fans, so be it. I'm just saying that ECW isn't for me. Too hardcore for me to handle? A little...

* * *

I was watching Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story and I had the advantage of seeing styles from WCW and ECW (well, sort of) and I found them quite different from WWE, kind of better, but anyway..

At least I now know more about Eddie than before, and I miss him. Now I just wish again that I could've started watching WWE sooner.

BTW, this DVD rocks!
