Right, I'll give it a shot myself:

01 - Intermediate:
Good colouring and use of textures, but the special thing is missing. I don't know exactly, but both don't feel "finished". Agree with wolfesgamergirl on those banners.

02 - Beginners with huge tendencies to intermediate:
The right banner is great and in my eyes definitely intermediate or even more, but the others , as great as they are now, could use some brush work and probably even some more colouring. :)

03 - Intermediate:
Good use of colouring and cropping. Good technique. Nice ideas. :)

04 - Intermediate:
Except the non-proportional scaling, I don't see anything that is wrong with those. Good colouring, nice ideas, some more brushes and use of existing space could push you easily to advance. :)

#1 - Advanced - Amazing use of brushes and textures, the coloring is absolutely gorgeous in both of them. I love the font in the second; really blends in with the photos.

#2 Beginner to Intermediate - The first one is simple yet elegant, with good cropping and stylizing. The second one seems more beginner to me; perhaps it's just the way Nick was cut out of the picture.

#3 - Beginner to Intermediate - Will comment later.

#4 - Intermediate - I love the soft effect of the banners, and the coloring is quite lovely. The text seems a little faded, though.

#1: Intermediate- Advanced: I love your use of textures and brushes, and the font is gorgeous. Great sense of design

#2: Beginner- Intermediate: Nice blending in the second one, but work on varying colors in the pictures and being a bit more artistic with the layout

#: Beginner- Intermediate: I like the pictures you used and the way you used them, but I noticed in the first one that you used the lens flare a lot. Try to vary your effects, and lighten up the first WP

#4: Beginner- Intermediate: I love the coloring on the second one, but be careful with the picture quality. The first one seems like it was a dark picture and lightening can cause those oh-so-annoying little boxes

OK, I thought I reactivate this thread again, cause perhaps there are some new artists out there who wanna find out where they're standing - concerning their art work.

So let me know if there's enough interest in starting a new round and if yes, what you prefer: banners, icons or wallpapers.

I prefer all three cause I know I'm not that great but in some I really need to know whether to go up to intermediate or stay beginners or what. LOL

Yeah me too. I really am not sure what to enter when there are only two categories in a challenge.

For me counts the same as above.. I would like to enter at all three to see i'v there is differents between them, and i didnt enter in a long time to a contest and i want to get back in..

I'm for icons and wallpapers. I run the banner challenge so doesn't need to know about that. But i'm all for helping others out. :)

I'd enter all 3 to see where stand- I think this is a good idea :)

Alright, thanks for your responses! :)

So: though in some challenges the voting will start soon again, I'm opening a new category search round now. This time it's an open round, which means you can send in whatever you like: wallpapers, icons or banners.
Further more, please state whether you want to have comments or not and if you wanna know whether you belong in beginners, intermediate, advanced or only beginners - advanced. (I hope that's not too complicated *coughs* )

For example when you send me your pm, write in the subject:

"Category Thread - with comments(or without) - B/I/A (or B/A)"

This way I can organize them more easily. Please send me - cinegirl - your work till Tuesday, 15th January, 3pm board time :)

Yeah, 3 is a good maximum amount. But you can also send in one only, if you don't wanna do more/not enough time etc. (<-- strange syntax :lol: sorry, I'm a bit dead today)
