Living Legend

I really didn't like it! OK, it's not the worst episode ever but I didn't work for me.

I admit I had preconceived notions about not liking this one, possibly because of the 'special guest star', I was concerned it would be an episode built around him rather than concentrating on what CSI does best, and I think, sadly it was. I found the plot lacking, and though I wouldn't have guessed about the cop being the body in the car the whole idea of the episode just didn't work for me.

From the beginning, and the Michael Myers reference I'm thinking in every other episode the CSI's would have worked out these things straight away. As for the 'state of the art prosthetics' Grissom mentioned later, one look at any of the images they had of the guy and they would have known something was up. Especially Archie and his magic equipment, he's seen enough dodgy cover ups and deciphered facial characteristics from practically thin air before, he would have seen through it straight away (although that was explained away by him saying he was going to take a closer look and Sara(?) telling him not to bother!

So, the main things I didn't like about the episode...Well, I struggle to believe that a man can be shot in the chest, half drown and then get out of the car, shoot a cop, redress him and ride of into the sunset for one! Only to return so many years later to take revenge on the guys that tried to kill him, and despite the fact that it looked like the same guy he still feels the need to wear ridiculous masks that anyone would spot a mile off (apart from our obviously overworked CSI's). I obviously didn't like it because I could nitpick at the things that annoyed me all evening, but I won't (Catherine leaving the bullet at the end by the side of the bed! Evidence).

I think my complaints probably all came about because I struggled to get over Roger Daltrey's truly bizarre accent. Unless, once again I am missing something important, it was just bad!

OK, it wasn't all bad, there were some things I actually enjoyed about it. Greg's reference to Lois O'Neil's book was one, anything Brass said (he was on top comic form), and Mickey Dunn's 'the hardest thing of all was learning Spanish' made me smile a bit too. :)

*ducks from flying objects*

I thought this was a good episode overall but not one of the best. I agree with you Elsie that the masks were pretty obvious and I was hard pushed to believe they wouldnt have caught on sooner. Roger Daltry's accent was a bit suspect, one minute he had a strange "mob" accent and then he lapsed into an English accent at the end.

I quite liked the story, and loved the "old Vegas" feel to it and although it was a bit far fetched I thought the plot was interesting and kept you guessing.

I loved the scene with Doc Robbins, he really kicked ass!

Also loved Brass again, his quip "We're the cops not the Ghostbusters" had me cracking up.

Not enough Nicky for me :(, but I enjoyed it overall.

I thought it was a great epi - Roger Daltry was wicked, i agree about the accent but i kind of expected it and found it quite sexy! :p

My fave part obviously is the Doc RObbins kicking paparazzi butt - YOU GO DOC! The nerve of that guy but at least it helped Doc notice the glowing bones under the light, otherwise they wouldnt have been able to identify the body.

Yes the masks were really obvious! Kinda sucked but ill let them off!

My second best bit was the ending with Catherine and Roger Daltry. He was so smug and i totally didnt expect the whole 'Oh looky here, looks like your gonna survive and die in prison, we got your bullet dumbass' - I kinda wanted Roger to freak out, you know shake the chains abit, maybe then the bed would have collapsed and that would have made me crack up!

I don't get how he knew that Catherine was Sam Brauns daughter! He hadnt seen her in years, unless he had be following peoples lives. :(

Elsie - i agree about the not believing the guy could have been shot in the chest and then being under water and still surviving.

In conclusion (sorry writing my dissertation lol  ) the good bits out weigh the bad bits - IT ROCKED

Bring on next weeks WOOHOO

I think he found out when Mickey hit on Catherine at the club, and Sam told Mickey to stay away from his daughter (as Sam knew well before Catherine that he was her father). I think, correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Elsie, no flying objects coming from me. ;) I agree with the accent, it seemed all over the place. It got worse when he was lying in the hospital bed.

For me also, I thought the pros outweighed the cons. :)

Brass had a great episode. My favorite line from him was at the beginning.

Brass: Well at least the driver was sober, I can't say the same about the boat load of high school kids he was driving around town. Listen to the wonderful statements I got, "We go errrr dude goes ahhhh we go bam dude goes wahhh"

Yeah i mean i know that Mickey knew that YOUNG catherine was his daughter but i mean recognising her when she is much older - but i guess its cos obv her name was mentioned at some point wen she introduced herself

Sorry i am being a dumbass lol

I'm in two minds about Living Legend.

First of all, I thought Roger Daltry was brilliant. His karaoke turn was hilarious. The words on the screen didn't match up to what he was singing! Hee heee! Bad continuity people! Bad!

He played each character in a more sinister way throughout. And the interrogation was fab - pure hatred when he described smashing Eddie Sanchez's face in...

Love the old Vegas stories. Catherine was a bit of a goer in the 70's too, then! ;) She must be from my neck of the woods! Don't drop yer chips, love! :D

I thought the highlight was Doc Robbins going all kungfu on the pap. Nice little mover!

But there were also some very ropey moments. How did the DNA not tell the CSI's it was the same person? You can't tell me no one had heard of Michael Myers. My mum is 60 and she knew who he was and that it was a ruse! She is worse at science than I am!

Grissom - the superintelligent boffin that he is - why did it take him three quarters of an hour to work out it was the same man? There were just two many holes for our crack team of nerds to fall through. The writers dumbed the CSI's down at the expense of the guest star, in my opinion, as good as he was.

A game of two halves for me. I thought the pace would be picking up by now... not dropping - especially after a weak eppy the week before with Happenstance.

Is the MCSK back next episode?

So, I have remembered that today is Tuesday and therefore new CSI night. :) And after my slight disappointment last week, I am truly looking forward to this one. :D

GRISSOM AND THE CSI TEAM INVESTIGATE A MURDER THAT LEADS THEM CLOSER TO DISCOVERING THE IDENTITY OF THE SERIAL KILLER WHO LEAVES MINIATURE REPLICAS OF HIS CRIME SCENES.

A case involving a man killed at a poultry manufacturing plant leads the CSI team closer to discovering the identity of the serial killer who leaves miniature replicas of his crime scenes. -- Danny Bonaduce ("The Partridge Family") returns in flashbacks as Izzy Delancey, an ex-rocker who was murdered and is linked to the CSI team's current case.

When the CSIs process clues at the poultry manufacturing plant, the evidence leads them to the home of a man who collects miniature trains and other miniature paraphernalia. Grissom and his team rush to link him to the other miniature killings, but a twist in the case could prevent them from gathering enough evidence to catch the killer.

*yayness* another miniature! I love those little crime scenes, it must be my childhood disappointment of never having a proper dolls house that does it! They are so cool.

Oh my god! yay! Another episode involving the miniature crime scenes. Oh, I am so looking forward to tonights episode. :D

Thanks for the details Elsie. :)

"Empty Eyes" Has been added to the list of episodes located on page/post one of this thread, You are now up to date. :)

I really didn't like it! OK, it's not the worst episode ever but I didn't work for me.
Me neither. Sorry. :(
Here comes the reasons why:
I thought Catherine's flash back was really cheesy. They could have done better. Plus why all of a sudden is the show focusing on Catherine. Where has Warrick gone? Nick? They seem to just be there. :(

Secondly the masks were too obvious. Right from the beginning, I was like "Why is Daltry wearing a mask?".

In general I just wasn't involved in the episode. I felt like I should watch, because it's CSI, and I love CSI you know?
Nevermind.
It was still a far better show than any other show. (especially stuff from England (what has happened to Casualty?))
Nevermind.
So tonight we have....Loco motives. That looks like a better episode. ;)

Excuse the rant. :p

Loco Motives

I thought this episode was great, one of my favorites of this season. I enjoyed the beginning, with Catherine breaking in to laughter every few seconds. It was totally infectious and I found myself laughing along with her. I also found it amusing that Grissom was trying very hard to hold his laughter in.

The first story with Max I thought was wonderful. I loved the way Max and Brass played off each other. My favorite part was when Catherine was getting Max's prints and Brass walked in "Hi Jim, just having my prints taken by Cath. Is Gilbert joining us?" I really liked the actor, I thought he was very good. I found it a refreshing storyline and as unbelievable as it was, I thought it worked well and enjoyed its light heartedness. I cannot believe someone is that unlucky. Another part, which I enjoyed, was when Max was talking to Brass in the interrogation room at the end. Max: "I'm the type of guy who buys his daughter a puppy for her birthday and one day backs out of the driveway... Brass: Don't tell me, you ran over the puppy?" Max: No, my daughter". Poor guy.

Dr Robbins was clearly having a bad day.

As for the second story, I don't really know what to make of it. I enjoyed it and was pleased the serial killer was back, but I had no idea what the hell was going on and by the end of the episode I had no idea if it was Ernie who was the serial killer or someone else. I'm pretty sure he's not the killer, but it wasn't really clear at the end whether he was or not. I going to assume that Ernie was set up.

Grissom seemed to relate to Ernie a lot. Grissom was struggling in this episode and it's pretty obvious that he needs a break.

Overall I would give the episode 8/10. :)

Yep, a good episode. It was thoroughly enjoyable. I like the first story, even though it was clear that he was the guy that Warrick and Nick were looking for. It was a funny story, and the little girl was cute too. I liked Max calling Catherine 'Cathy' and thought his interaction with Brass was great. When he talks about running over his daughter the look on Catherine's face was brilliant, as was her telling Grissom 'it's horrible but it's funny', I was laughing along with her.

The miniature killer storyline was OK, although it was a bit strange and the ending was weird. I'm not sure about Ernie Dell either, it didn't really explain anything. The shooting at the end was a bit of a shock and Grissom did look distressed. Catherine is right, Grissom does look tired. :(

Yeah, liked it a lot. Well done CSI. :D

taht was one of my favourite episodes ever! it was sooooooo funny! i couldn't stop laughing:D
that little girl was the sweetest ever! she was great. i loved Warrick's interaction with her too! :D
it was so funny when she goes "hi max!"
that guy sure was unlucky! :D

as for the mcsk, i don't think it was him. i think the ending was all wrong and something isn't right! i think he'll come back again.
