Re: The Great Ship Debate

My points though, I don't think GSR is being shoved down people's throats, but I also think their scenes are forced. This week's seemed like the only natural thing they've done, a nice casual conversation about sex that had SOMETHING to do with the episode. I just... don't think TPTB is handling it very well...

I totally agree!!! I think TPTB aren't handling well at all, and that is what I've said before.

I live here in Vegas. and know of two law officers, who work in the same dept. [she's one of my customers] and their married.. one work's the day shift.. the other swing swift..

Oh I'm sure its normal for people to date in the same work place, but usually its frowned upon if its in the same department or shift...and if your a direct boss who is dating their staff. The later one usually being really frowned upon. I know where I work it is a policy not to date your staff. That is a big no-no...and a good way for the supervisor to lose their job. So many legal issue can arise from that. And to get more technical...if your a supervisor it is also prohibited to party with your staff. I'm sure there is a policy like this set up in law enforcement as well. Of course this stuff happens in real life anyhow!

I know I've said this before...but I'm ready for GSR to be exposed...its been due time!

Re: The Great Ship Debate

I don't understand why people be upset about GSR all the time. I love the show, not because I ship Snickers, GSR, Grillows or other Shippers, I don't ship Sandle or Yobling or other shippers, I don't like. I just love the show because they got good chemistry. Vegas Cast got better chemistry then Miami, I watch the old Miami other channel, that show is very depressed and they don't have chemistry, that's my opinion. I watch NY other day, it seem good. My favoerite show will alway be Vegas.

Re: The Great Ship Debate

WOW, that sound like a strict workplace policy where you work..Waiting and to the contrary.. I was actually at a Xmas party with these same people.. and everyone had a blast.. I've never heard of a surpervisor that can't party with his subordinates  wherever I've ever worked, even the President of the co. was present!!

Re: The Great Ship Debate

I think the whole "Supervisor" unable to "party" is a bit far. I've partied with my supervisor numerous times.. But then again, in our work manual it says "You are allowed to date co-workers, as long as it doesn't interfere with your work".. But law enforcement is a lot stricter though, lol.

MissDee you've pretty much left me breathless.

Oh I can party just not with anyone I supervise. I can hang out with people in other departments. :D If I happen to hang out with a subordinate and it gets back to the management staff above me...guess whose in trouble...me!

Well if its a work function we can all hang together...we have Xmas parties and usually the whole staff is present. However, any function outside of work...partying with the staff is not tolerated. I work for a bank...so its pretty strict.

MissDee and Desertwind seem to have good points usually. Amongst many others...just like you gsrLOVE...I enjoy this thread.

Also, I haven't been able to pull that video up yet. If it was not posted by CBS, it will be removed.

Re: The Great Ship Debate

I'm sure you would find that conversation unethical. I can see your point however Grissom has covered Sara's butt numerous times as well. If you look for every single action you are going to find that they all have had moments where they have done things wrong they aren't perfect.

You're missing my point. Even if he has covered for Sara (and as several posters pointed out, he actually didn't) - all of them before they were together, but that's beside the point - my point is that he has covered for Sofia, Nick, Warrick, Sara, Catherine and Greg. The last I checked, he wasn't having "sexy time" with Greg. Maybe he is. lol.

My point is that this is something he does for everyone. If that's the kind of boss he is, I can't see someone being outraged at Sara being allowed to get a night off or working a case. And you know what? She hasn't asked.

Yeah I already said that. Grissom stands behind his staff...and I'm not saying that is wrong. Its actually nice to see a boss act this way. Do you remember when he refused to fire Sara for subordination at Ecklie's request? I think he made a good decision...not hating here...Though because he's dating Sara and no matter what you say his actions towards her will look different now. That is my point. Doesn't mean its right...I can just see that happening is all. THis should all make their relationship interesting. I wonder how Ecklie will react?

Re: The Great Ship Debate

I agree, Waiting, that even though Grissom may not treat Sara any differently from the rest of the team, in the sense that he will go to bat for all of them, if it was known that they were dating other people may perceive it as treating her differently, even though he really isn't.

As I said above, I have NO PROBLEM with the idea of repercussions coming down on those two for dating at work. I personally don't think they're doing anything wrong; love should win out in a situation like this, but again, Grissom and Sara are being completely in character in not paying attention to the politics. If this were Catherine and Warrick, or Catherine and Grissom, or Catherine and Nick, you can bet your ass that one of them would have made sure that a request for transfer was on file, even if they were denied for various reasons. At least that way they could argue that they tried to get on separate shifts. Catherine, Nick, or Warrick would see that because they see the politics behind what they do and can play them.

Grissom and Sara don't play politics; they don't even see them. Which is why I think that they will end up getting into trouble with someone once the relationship is outed. The difference is, I suppose, that I don't see this as "punishment" for "unethical" behavior. I see it as the natural consequences of not handling their situation as adroitly as they could have, because neither one is shrewd enough to forsee & manipulate the office politics involved.

That's part of why I like the couple, though. They're refreshingly innocent, in a way.

Re: The Great Ship Debate

My fav ship is Cath/Sara. They can't go with or without the other. They hate to admit they sometimes need each other and though they fight a lot they still come back to each other eventually :) And last but not least.. two hot women... :D
Wasn't there a thread about them somewhere? Can't seem to find it...
