She photographs really well. Really, she doesn't have to smile to look pretty, She looks really nice in that, and I agree, she did very well on playing out her emotions

The only ones I've ever seen that I wasn't terribly fond of were the Due South promo pics....not sure what it was, possibly conveying the evil character, but I can actually say I didn't like them much. Not sure if they're online to link to, I'll have to look.

I think she looks stunning in the photo above but as for the group photo below it's ok I guess. Lighter and subtle make-up suits her better 'cause she's a natural beauty.

I love her in the first one, she looks adorable in it, but the second one, I'm not so sure about, yeah she looks pretty, but I dunno, might the lighting?

I agree, it probably was the lighting. Even though Melina has a medium olive complexion bright lights and subtle makeup works in her favour as opposed to drab lighting and dark make-up. Thank god the make-up people have never made her wear brown lipstick & black eye shadow. There's a difference between class and trash and Melina is pure class.

I'm not sure that has been posted yet but it's taken from IMDB:

For her performance, Melina received the 2000 TV Guide Award for Favorite Actress in a Drama (as voted by more than one million TV viewers) and was nominated for the same award in 2001. In 2003, she gave birth to her second child, took to the stage as Sally Bowles in the Broadway play Cabaret and shot the indie film "Into the Fire" which will debut at the 2004 Tribecca Film Festival. In the fall of 2004, she will return to television in the much anticipated CBS series CSI: New York opposite Gary Sinise.

In 2001 she appeared on the big screen co-starring opposite Robert De Niro in the film "15 Minutes." Other film credits include "Rounders," "Dangerous Beauty" and "The Long Kiss Goodnight." In the same year, she became a celebrity spokesperson for Maybelline as featured in their national television and print campaigns.

Melina Kanakaredes is a second-generation Greek-American who was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Her love of musical theater, especially the work of Gwen Verdon and Chita Rivera, inspired her as a child. She began performing locally; singing with her sisters and making her acting debut at age eight in the community theater production of "Tom Sawyer."

Kanakaredes attended Ohio State University to study music, dance and theater, later transferring to Point Park College in Pittsburgh. She appeared in commercials, industrial films and on stage in the Pittsburgh Playhouse and Pittsburgh Public Theater. Upon graduation, Kanakaredes moved to New York City where she supported her acting dreams by working in off-Broadway plays.

Kanakaredes' previous television credits include a recurring role as Jimmy Smits' reporter-girlfriend in "NYPD Blue." She starred in the drama series "New York New"" and "Leaving L.A." and guest-starred on "The Practice" and "Oz." She also received two Emmy nominations for her work on "The Guiding Light."

Away from the set, Kanakaredes enjoys, reading, swimming, working out with the Pilates system, traveling (especially to Greece), listening to James Taylor, and is a sports fan of the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Bulls. She lives with her family in Los Angeles.

I never knew she did so many extracurricular activities.

oooooooooh!..malista...ok,like when they are @ tha lab they are not in NY but sometimes they do filming there...got it !..*no,I'm not retarted*

I agree with you, Melina is pure class.

Wow, she does alot of activities, thats really great. ;) Thanks for posting that J.

They film in LA most of the time though right, except for the NY shots type?

Yeah, it's all filmed in LA except for the shots of NY at the beginning of every episode. I guess that's how they save money...

OT: According to an old In Style article Melina owns a ranch house somewhere in LA and she metioned that she has to hike to get to her home. I guess that's another trick to keep her fit and to make her look young.
