Sara clashes with her mother-in-law and a woman from Gil's past when the CSIs investigate a car bombing tied to the faculty and students at a local college's Department of Deaf Cultural Studies...

Mrs. Grissom: This former librarian is Gil Grissom's formidable mother who has a somewhat awkward relationship with Sara. Mrs. Grissom seems to prefer Gil's ex, Ms. Nichols, over Sara, and she's taken aback when Sara goes after Ms. Nichols in a murder case. However, the "two Mrs. Grissoms" come to see eye-to-eye as the case progresses

In 11 seasons, CSIer Greg Sanders Eric Szmanda) has never received so much as a kiss, so Eric took it upon himself to recruit a girl to bed his character on the January 13 episode, a 1940s film-noir homage. His pick: burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, a friend whom Eric met through her ex-husband, Marilyn Manson.
"I was in love with her the minute I met her," says Eric. Dita will play three roles: mousy schoolteacher Ellen Whitebridge; her femme fatale alter ego, Rita Von Squeeze, and Ellen's murdered French grandmother, chanteuse Agnes La Plouffe (seen in flashback).
As for Greg getting lucky, Eric says, "We're going to try [shooting] a kiss, and we'll see if it makes the cut. But there is an intimate encounter. I'm excited fans will finally delve into Greg's mysterious private world. This is by far the biggest episode I've ever had!" Coos Dita, "I'm tickled to be his first."

"In the first literary/broadcast crossover, Sqweegel, the super villain from Level 26, did a guest appearance on CSI this fall, droving ratings up for the veteran crime drama, now in its 11th season. The plan is to bring Sqweegel back in the CSI season finale, which would be co-written by Zuiker and the series showrunner Carol Mendelsohn. "I appreciate it more now than the first time," Zuiker said about returning to the show that jump started his career."

'CSI' exclusive: Time to meet Gil's long lost mom!
Get ready for the mother of all CSI episodes, because we’re about to meet Gil Grissom’s long lost mother! EW has learned exclusively that Tony award-winning actress Phyllis Frelich will play the role of Mrs. Grissom — and go head-to-head with the new Mrs. Grissom — in an episode tentatively scheduled to air Feb. 3.

Here are the details: A murder occurs at a school for the deaf where Grissom’s mom is a professor. Sara (Jorja Fox) goes to investigate but ends up facing an unexpected challenge — a surprising lack of affection from her mother-in-law. Apparently, Grissom’s mom never felt that Sara was the one for her beloved Gil so the two women have a few fences to mend. The episode also stars Oscar winner Marlee Matlin as a school colleague who not only serves as Mrs. Grissom’s protege but used to date Gil. Guess who momma Grissom prefers?


Sadly, William Petersen won’t appear in the episode. (Fans are supposed to think that Gil is contantly on the move so he and Sara maintain a long-distance relationship.) But the story is a continuation of an arc that started way back in season one’s memorable “Sound of Silence” episode, in which we first learn that our hero can sign because he grew up with a deaf mother.


Frelich, who is deaf, won a Tony Award for her work in the 1980 Broadway production of Children of a Lesser God — the play that inspired the movie of the same name that starred Matlin, who won an Oscar for her role. Frelich has also appeared in numerous TV shows, including ER, Diagnosis: Murder and L.A. Law

‘CSI’ EXEC PRODCERS DROP TEASERS, TALK JORJA FOX
I’ve felt a little like Santa the past few weeks with all the letters I’ve been getting from good little boys and girls asking for CSI treats. Well, ho ho ho, people — this week I’ve got more than a little something for you, courtesy of CSI executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Don McGill. First up, in an upcoming January episode featuring Dita Von Teese as a femme fatale with “a dark secret,” Greg will succumb to her charms and put his team — and his life — on the line. Also, “look for something about Greg’s first kiss and maybe something more,” they teased for me in an email.


Looking ahead to February, as we know, Justin Bieber returns as Jason McCann. The twist? Nick, who gunned down Jason’s brother in the premiere, will attempt to save Jason, “putting himself and the team in jeopardy.” The radical militia group they are facing off against will use this as a chance to “spring the perfect ‘mouse-trap,’ claiming at least one victim and leaving another fighting for their life,” Mendelsohn and Don McGill said. Don’t you love sweeps?


And I’ve saved the best for last. Jorja Fox fans have emailed me in a fury about rumors that the lovely forensic scientist would only be on 11 episodes. But the CSI honchos were happy to report that while they’re still discussing exactly how many episodes she will appear in, fans can “look for more than 11.”

Marlee Matlin talks CSI Chicago and there's a few new spoilers about the The Two Mrs. Grissoms, we know his mom and ex's names

Matlin guest-stars in an episode of the original "CSI," tentatively scheduled to air Thursday, Feb. 3. In "The Two Mrs. Grissoms," which has been in production this past week, Matlin plays Julia Holden, a professor at a college for the deaf, whose mentor is fellow professor Betty Grissom (Phyllis Frelich), mother of former head CSI Gil Grissom (William Petersen).

This causes tension with Grissom's current wife, CSI Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), who simultaneously must deal with her mother-in-law and with Julia, who's also Grissom's ex-girlfriend. It doesn't help that both Julia and Mrs. Grissom are deaf and can speak to each other in American Sign Language, which Sara is struggling to learn.

As to whether Mrs. Grissom might have preferred Julia to Sara as a daughter-in-law, Matlin speaks in sign language through an interpreter, telling Zap2it, "She adores me better, I know that. I just had to say that."

B story.. Hodges buys what he thinks is a new motorcycle, only to find that it has been rebuilt & has both human blood & a partial thumb in parts. The sellers Dewey & Dennis, reveal that they got the parts for his cycle from a bus-on-bus wreck that apparently squashed the motorcycle between them. Hodges questions them separately. Mrs. Larmer is the widow of the motorcylist. Visited by Hodges, who bought her husband's salvaged bike & ran a DNA check on the blood found in the transmission. She's kind of charmed by Hodges' weirdness:lol:
