 You have entered a spoiler thread! STOP or be spoiled!

Welcome to the Season 11 Spoiler Reference Thread!

The difference between this thread and the Spoiler Discussion Thread is that here you will find just the spoilers themselves, no discussion. This makes the spoilers easier to find for those who are looking for them. There is no need to wade through all of the discussion to find them.

This thread will be closed to posts. If you have a spoiler, feel free to post it in the Spoiler Discussion Thread, and either Smokey or DJRideout will copy it to this one...with all due credit to the poster, of course! :) Or if you prefer you may just PM the spoiler to either of them.

In general, we will not post spoiler pics here (there is a thread for those) or promo videos (those can be found in the Spoiler Discussion Thread).

Please remember that spoilers are subject to change and should only be considered as a guide to what could be happening in that episode, and not what will happen. :)

If you have any problems or questions, especially about citing sources and what you can/cannot post, please do not hesitate to contact one of your friendly LV mods, Smokey or DJRideout. :)

For those of you who like to check this thread for spoilers and avoid the discussion thread, you may have noticed that there is quite a lot of activity in that thread but nothing posted here yet.

The only "spoiler" so far for Season 11 is that Liz Vassey may not be back next season as Wendy. This news comes via a post on her Facebook page and has not been officially announced or confirmed by anyone at CBS or from the show.

And that is what all of the discussion on the other thread is about. That and contracts and what if so and so doesn't come back, etc. Just wanted the rest of you to know you aren't missing any spoilers and that we will keep this thread updated just like we did the Season 10 thread. :)

CSI will be down one lab rat when the show returns next fall.

A CBS rep declined to comment, but a source close to CSI confirms that Liz Vassey’s contract option has not been picked up. “The show is going in a different creative direction in its 11th season,” adds the insider.

With Liz Vassey's (Wendy) departure from CSI, a new female cast member has been hired. According to her Twitter, Sienna Guillory has be cast as Kacey Monoha, described so far in many different ways by many different sources, but all we know for sure is that she is an explosives expert. ;) And that she will, in some way, "team up" with Nick.

Thanks to preatorian for providing the info via Guillory's Twitter! :)

From a CBS press release:

MY DAD SAYS (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT). CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION returns for its 11th season (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by the third season premiere of THE MENTALIST (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

From a casting call for the new tech...

FEMALE (late 20s; any ethnicity) - KACEY MONOHAN. SMOKIN' HOT, lively, very smart, but EDGY & COOL WITH A SENSE OF FUN - SHE LOVES BOMBS. The kind of person you want on your team, Kacey is a bomb expert who comes from a long line of interesting acronyms: B.A.B.E. (Ballistics, arson, bombs, and explosives) and SEXY (actually, C-E-X-C--Combined Explosives Exploitation Cell, from her service in Iraq). A new CSI tech, Kacey works with Nick and the others on the well orchestrated bombs that went off during Officer Clark's funeral. Kacey comes by her explosive work naturally, since her father was in pyrotechnics and she grew up setting off cherry bombs as a kid. Kacey brings courage, a good work ethic, and a wealth of knowledge to her new job. GUEST STAR/RECURRING

From our own CSI Files as reported at TVGuide.com:

Helgenberger Plans Her 'CSI' Exit

Besides the main news, there are a few other spoiler-ish items in the article.

  • "We’re going to get into what’s left of the casino Catherine inherited from her father, some of it told in flashback. This could possibly lead to Catherine’s exit"
  • "Catherine will also be getting a different sort of “action” during season eleven as her romance with Detective Vartann (Alex Carter) is revisited. That particular development mirrors the actress’s personal life. “I have a new boyfriend who’s not in the business,” Helgenberger revealed. “Life imitates art because Catherine has her boyfriend as well. And I just heard that we are going to have a love scene together—in bed. I haven’t done that since George Clooney in ER. I’m going to have to worry if my legs are shaved!”"

William Keck has this to offer on the new season:
CSI show runner Carol Mendelsohn tells me Bill Irwin will be reprising his role as inmate Nathan Haskell in the show's 11th season premiere, then return for three additional episodes in a story arc that will finally introduce the wife of Laurence Fishburne's Dr. Raymond Langston. "Toward the end of the season, Mrs. Langston will play a pivotal role," says Mendelsohn. Plus, hearing that Marg Helgenberger has decided to end her long run as Catherine Willows this season, Mendelsohn says she plans to "start begging on my knees as the season progresses. No one ever leaves the CSI family, so we'll see." Finally, Mendelsohn has been speaking with Jorja Fox (Sara) about how to explain to the audience why Sara has been apart from her husband Grissom for so long. Unfortunately, she has so far been unsuccessful in her repeated attempts to sway William Petersen back for a guest spot to explain the divide.

Exclusive: Elliott Gould to guest-star on CSI
Oscar-nominated actor Elliott Gould will guest-star in the second episode of CSI's upcoming season, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Gould will play an old-school casino mogul who crosses paths with the team when one of his casinos becomes the crime scene. The episode will be particularly important for Catherine (Marg Helgenberger), whose father, Sam Braun, was also a casino boss.

Check out photos of the CSI cast

"We will find out more about the legacy Sam left Catherine in that episode," executive producer Carol Mendelsohn says.

Gould, 71, received an Oscar nod for 1969's swinging dramedy Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and has appeared in dozens of other films, including Robert Altman's M*A*S*H and the Ocean's Eleven trilogy, in which he also played a former casino kingpin. On the small screen, he starred in the 1980s sitcom E/R and recurred as Ross and Monica's father on Friends.

Season 11 of CSI premieres Thursday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c on CBS.

And also.....

Looks like sasha roiz (caprica) and Elliot Gould will be in an ep of CSI.

From Anthony Zuiker's Facebook:

Anthony Zuiker is happy to announce that black Sqweegel from Level 26: Dark Origins is going to appear on CSI on October 14, 2010. The episode is entitled "Sqweegel". Stay tuned to be scared to death.
CSI Files previously reported on the Level 26 project several times, including this post which describes Sqweegel as follows:
There are 25 levels used to categorize serial killers, but Special Circs is working to find the only man ever placed in a category of his own: Level 26. The man is called Sqweegel, and he is known to have killed more than 50 people over the span of 20 years. He rapes, tortures, mutilates, shoots, burns and poisons his victims. He is literally able to get away with murder because there is no forensic evidence to tie him to his crimes. He wears a full body suit so that he doesn't leave so much as a skin cell behind at a crime scene.
Thanks to...um...me, I guess, for posting this!

From Ausiello:

Question: Any chance of seeing Grissom even for a tiny moment on CSI this season? —Juliana
Ausiello:
I'm 92 percent certain the next time you see Grissom will be in the show's series finale.

Question: With Liz Vassey leaving CSI, what can you tell us about the fate of Wallace Langham? —DJ
Ausiello:
He's staying put. In fact, sound like he's getting a promotion. "We're focusing primarily on the core team this season, and I want to bring Hodges more into that core group," says exec producer Carol Mendelsohn, who adds that Vassey will be back in episode 2 to wrap up Wendy's story line. "I think fans will be satisfied. She will be able to say goodbye to Hodges, and Hodges will take his anger and heartbreak out on a fellow tech."
Thanks to Vegaslights for posting this.

Official cast list and new title for episode one, courtesy of CBS:

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION is a fast-paced drama about a team of forensic investigators trained to solve crimes by examining the evidence. They are on the case 24/7, scouring the scene, collecting the irrefutable evidence and finding the missing pieces that will solve the mystery. Catherine Willows, a hard-working single parent with a checkered past and a teenage daughter she's raising on her own, heads the team of investigators at the Crime Lab in Las Vegas, following previous leader Gil Grissom's departure. The team's other members include Dr. Raymond Langston, a former pathologist who joined the Las Vegas Crime Lab after consulting on a serial killer case; Nick Stokes, a true-blue stand-up guy who empathizes with victims via his own experiences; and Greg Sanders, the off-beat tech analyst turned field investigator. The CSI team members also work closely with Capt. Jim Brass, the former chief, now assigned to Homicide; Dr. Albert Robbins, the ever-professional medical examiner and his assistant, David Phillips; and David Hodges, a lab technician with specialties in trace and foreign-substance analysis.
