Ryan/Jon # 28 - Togo Where No Thread has Gone Before

I just realised that Ryan/Jon has got the most threads: for a guy that doesn't get a lot of screentime or storylines we can sure talk about him a lot :lol:

Yea, which just proves how many fans he has. I think he's one of the most popular characters on the show when it comes to a fan base. And yet on the show, characters like Eric and Calleigh are way more "major" than he is. It really annoys me. Do the writer's seriously not realize this? I mean I don't know if they go online and look at forums like this. I doubt it, but still. Maybe they should try, so they can see just how loved and unloved some of the characters actually are. If they saw all the Eric hate happening right now, maybe they'd give Ryan some more screen time. Rather than making some of the fans even more annoyed with Eric, push him to the back for a little bit and give the other characters a chance to shine. I like Eric, but come on. xD

It is important to keep sending emails,I sent plenty this summer.Some of the emails were rants,some suggestions for Jon as well as other storylines,etc.I've sent so many,I hope my email address hasn't been blocked.

Except for the basketball scene, it seemed that Ryan was very low energy this episode. Which is exactly how Jon should have played it considering everything they went through that day. I am looking forward to a well rested Ryan again in upcoming episodes. I miss his fire and humor.

Low energy or low key is are good words. Hopefully we will see either the fire and or humor this Sunday.The fact that we started off better than last season makes me hopeful for some things,not so much others,you know certain storylines,etc.

I sent plenty of feedback after watching earlier episodes, mainly about continuity (OCD, Uncle Ray, possible fear of heights) but also about stopping the great Ryan/Eric fued. Time will tell whether they listened or not.

I really hope they have more scenes with Ryan and Frank. They both deserve more screentime, and it's always a laugh seeing them constantly tease each other, it brings out the humour in both actors :thumbsup:

Next episode will mark the return, however brief, of Erica Sykes. I'm not sure whether to be excited or scared about Ryan interacting with her. Either tptb will do the smart thing and show that Ryan has obviously matured from his past self that let Erica manipulate him, or they're just going to have Ryan go all gaga over her again :angryrazz: I'm pretty sure that the writers couldn't be that stupid, but still...

Either tptb will do the smart thing and show that Ryan has obviously matured from his past self that let Erica manipulate him, or they're just going to have Ryan go all gaga over her again :angryrazz: I'm pretty sure that the writers couldn't be that stupid, but still...

I dunno, I don't think they'll have him go all lovey over her anymore. He'll probably be surprised and maybe awkward if they talk much, but I think they got Ryan over Erica Sykes in season 4. After he smashed her recorder in that one episode, I don't remember them ever being "together" again. She was in a few episodes after that, I think, but not really as Ryan's love interest anymore. At least, that I remember. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't watched those episodes in a while. So I reaaaally hope they stick with that. Please. :lol: I'm fine with a love interest for Ryan but I'd really prefer it be someone brand new to the show, put into the show for THAT reason, if they ever decide to give him one. Then again it is the Miami writer's we're talking about so who knows what they'll do.

I am still around but mostly lurk these days. I did watch the premiere and thought it was good. Too much Eric and not enough Ryan for my taste. Loved the basketball scene...he looked like he was having so much fun.
Jon is looking better then he did he is almost too thin now. Its very noticable in his face! I am glad to see him looking healthier though!!

I think they did get back together briefly in season 4 after the recorder business, although I could be wrong. That was the first episode of s4, I think that he broke the recorder. Then in another epi after, think it was 3 way, that was when he was giving her the money for the recorder. And at the beginning of that episode Erica was at the scene and Alex asked if he was going out with her. He didnt say yes, but said she 'was very pretty.' So I take it that until that episode at least they were together.
Im hoping that Ryan gives her the brush-off in this upcoming episode. She was no good for him and slightly annoying! I think after Dark room though that he say what she was really like

Dragonfriend- I also enjoy Ryan's scenes with Frank. It would be good to see them interact alittle more.

Of course I hope everyone is right,but I really don't trust the writers.I thought that the character of Erica did harm to Ryan's character because he was still relatively new when he got mixed up with her,and she did make him look bad at a time when people still hadn't got over Speed.It would show maturity and growth of character for Ryan if he would brush her off but I think there are writers as well as TPTB that prefer there be someone on the show that messes up and for some reason they have decided it should be Ryan. Of course a would be deliriously happy if I were wrong.

I LOVE Ryan's scenes with Frank as well! They're always so funny together. :lol: We need some more Frank/Ryan stuff.

She definitely did him harm! It was I think the season 3 finale when she says something on the news about whatever they were working on, and Eric gets pissed at Ryan for telling her. And that was in season 3 so he was still really new and people definitely weren't over Speed. I agree with you about them always choosing Ryan as the screw up too, I don't know how anyone can even argue that. Just watch the show and you can see it. :lol: Hopefully there's no need for a screw-up in this episode though.

I feel the need to say something outside of a spoiler... I can't wait for Sunday? It's the Canadian Thanksgiving that day too so I've got two things to look forward to.
