I think his look from season three to now has really just evolved right along with his character. He looked more boyish in the beginning, and was kind of the new kind trying to fit in. Now, he's been there a while and established his place and he looks more "grown up".

I agree with Speedy, Ryan was really young in season three.Frank actually refered to him as "the new kid". You can actually see him maturing each season.

That makes me laugh everytime I see it, and I think I sort of remember when it came out. I wonder if it was one of Jon's first jobs?
