Where I agree with the Amount of RPs popping up (especially the Non CSI ones) and some other aspects being said
I disagree in telling people that you want to see them do fanfics some People dont like to write fanfics nor do they have the time (Myself being one of them) thats why they RP
as far as spammings concerned I dont like that nor do I like one liners
But what needs to be taken into consideration is people are on different time zones so one person May post one thing at a certain time and the other later on
I guess what bugs me is the people that dont quite understand the time differences and rather rudely PM someone and tell them to post when the person is at work (or at school as the case may be) or they will replace that persons finding someone else to play Said Character
I guess what it comes down is respecting one another

Oh, now that's just nasty. I have girls that I rp with that are six hours apart from me, and even if they didn't post in a while, I wouldn't PM them like that. That's just rude and downright disrespectful.

I know Jess and I've had that done to me a few times and When I didnt respond they'd just take Sara from me giving it to someone else I'd PM them back explaining the time difference thing but it never really matter to them (I gotta say though its not always here that i'm talking about)
thats why I think everyone needs to be treated with respect

I don't force them, i said it would be nice to see more fanfics, especially cause that section was created for that...I understand that some of you don't like to write fanfics or don't have time to do so : i was talking in general and again i say i would love to see fanfics poping up instead of RPs.

For now i only gave friendly reminder about spamming and one-line-post but if there is no change , i will give official warnings....About the time zone, maybe when you start a RPs, it would be better to explain all those things on your post so people won't have any excuse for the "PM harassement".

Exactly,if you don't respect people around you, there is no way you could stay here....As you know, i'm a new mod here so i'm not aware of everything, if there is anything bugging you, PM me and i will do my best for you.

and I want to also say Thank you for outlawing the Non CSI RPs That had been bothering me for awhile since after all isnt this a CSI website

Okay guys there are a list of new rules for RPs

CSI RolePlay rules


Since they are too many RPs and some of them don't even have a storyline, i figured rules should be established;
There are several rules to play:

1)From now on there will be only 2 RPs per show. It will last for 4 weeks and after that another RP will be established. that way, all ships will have the chance to participate.

Since there will be a lot of characters to choose from, ALL people can participate, no matter if they ship that ship or not.

2)Characters will be given on a first-come first-serve basis, except of the main characters. For them it will be an audition.

3)There must be reason for killing another character, preferably agreed with the other person.

4)Any disagreements will be mediated by LSB or me , whose decision is final.

5)The main character will have an alternate:The second best will be the alternate, no matter which role they decided to play besides that one

6)The members chosen to be the main character of the RP will give the storyline of the RP and also the character list of the RP; there can't be less than 4 players.

7)The RPs are only for CSI shows,if you want a RP about another tvshow, feel free to open it elsewhere or i will have to move, even close your thread.

8 )The post will have three lines, MINIMUM; if you only post three words, there is no way your partner will know how to work with that.

9 ) Again and i will insist on that one: leave 5 minutes between EACH POST.

Those are RULES and not SUGGESTIONS: everyone has to follow them , if you need some clarifications regarding the rules post them here and we will try to answer them.
I will explain the audition part later

You have two weeks from today to end up your own RP, give them an end, do whatever you want but in two weeks , RPs already open will be closed and new RPs will be established.

I have been in an RP for absolutely ages now that I opened and it really has flourished. I think it's grossly unfair to those RPs that have been going such a long time and are active, but you're still closing them down.
I thought an idea would be to have a separate board for RPs and a fair limitation on them - 1 per show is excluding so many people that alot of members who are here mainly for the RPs (like myself) are just going to leave.

If these rules happen, I'm just going to have to cop 25 pages of hard work onto a different website and I think it's stupid. I know alot of people feel the same as I do. Maybe stopping new RPs from just randomly opening, fine, but closing down pre-existing ones that have really active members and are of good quality? I think it's totally unfair and I probably won't be active on here anymore if the fanfic board is reduced to that.

Alot of people don't have time to constantly write fanfictions - I write them but I hardly get time to type them - and god only knows how many people are in the same boat.

I'd be fine with one-liner RPs being closed, but just take a look at how many good-quality RPs there are where the members have taken the time and effort to write long, detailed posts!!!

And when the characters are taken in the one RP you're allowing, what the heck happens for all the other people who can't be on here 24/7 waiting to snap up characters, or those of us in different timezones?!?!

I'm upset about all this, and I don't think it will do Talk any good.

I agree with Cordelia that closing pre-existing RP is unfair. I'm new to RP-ing, and now that I've just started to get the 'flow' of the story and enjoy it, you give me 2 weeks to end it?

I'm a 'closet-writer', I like writing but I always stuck with writing fanfics. And like Cordelia said, sometimes people don't have time to constantly write fanfictions. Maybe it's just me, but I find RP-ing like 'learning', before I feel confident enough to write full-length fanfic. It's writing, but I do feel like the pressure is off cause there are other people contributing to the story.

There are people who take time and effort to write RPs, you know. If you read my posts, I always try my best to write a detailed, long posts. It's dissapointing that maybe you think it's not good enough.

I've never had any problems with board rules and everything. If you want to give limitations, I'm fine with it. Three lines minimum per post? No problem. 5 minutes between each posts? Sure.
But 1 RP per show???? What's up with that??

Oh, Cordelia, please don't be upset! Surely sissi has her resasoning for these rules... right?
I know I would be exasperated at how many R/Ps there are here including similar/repeats and many others with no real basis to them. Just making R/Ps because the person is "soooo bored" is not good.

But I'm also kind of confused and sad. Please tell us why you're implementing all these rules, and what exactly is the auditioning one? How is it going to be done? Does that also apply to fanfiction or just R/Ps?

Ilovegrissom1: the main purpose of the audition is to chose the member who will fit to the character. It will prevent of OOC style. About the crossover, i guess we can allow one at the time.

Cordelia_GRS_fan: i understand your frustration but i didn't have the choice: if i didn't establish those rules, there wouldn't be RP on this section anymore. I agree that some of the RPs are good but that's not the problem. The new RPs will have a deadline so the members who play the characters will change and everyone can participate. The timezone won't be an issue: everyone will have an alternate, i don't see the big deal. Again a RP can't last forever, there should be an end and that's what i'm asking you, to end up your RP before we start the new ones.

Well I'm now in the looong process of copying the whole Crime Of Passion RP (all 25 pages of the old thread, plus the start of new thread) onto my own CSi Website that I created a bit ago.
That's a site just for RPs so there's no problem with it there. But I do have rules too - there can be no less then 3 lines and as long as you're active, it's fine.

I still think that a separate board would be suitable, so people who didn't want to be involved in RPs weren't bombarded. And if someone wanted to start an RP, they should PM you or LSB with their idea and THEN you could decide if they open it or not. I do agree that the "i started this because I was bored" RPs with no plot or anything are frustrating, but well-thought out plots and storylines make brilliant RPs!!!
