Friday the 13th

Ok to tell the truth, I was going to see this movie long before Jared Padalecki was casted for a role in the film. To be honest, the movie wasn't really scary ... more funny than anything. And of course watered down with drugs and sex, like any and all horror movies of this generation. I do wish it was more like the slasher movies from the 70's and 80's, that has brought me to love horror in general. But as a remake (or a revision) in this case, I think was done better than previous remakes like Texas Chainsaw Massacre ... I totally didn't like that one at all.

In typical Friday the 13th fashion ... Jason is 'supposely' dead and is dragged to the lake and pushed in ... in goes the mask ... and up jumps Jason. It does get old when you predict how they're going to end.

On a side note, Jared Padalecki did a great job in his role of Clay! But I think the movie didn't come over as well as My Bloody Valentine.

MakeTracksCowboy, please make sure you use a spoiler tag when giving details about the ending of a movie/deaths/etc. Thanks. :)

Requiem for a Dream
It was awesome. Well, I don't think this is the right word to describe this movie. The storyline didn't make sense to me in the first hour, but then I kinda understood what was going on with Sara and his son. And omg, Jared Leto is the main character and I didn't even know he was the guitarist of 30 Seconds to Mars (yes, I do like loadsa bands, but I never care about the members). This movie made me think of serious things.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
Finally I got to watch it. It was really long but really good. There wasn't much action in it. Benjamin is a weird person. I loved all his answers because he is so different. Not just because he was born like that. I didn't even understand the "message" of this film in the first two hours. But then I did - and Benjamin's last monologue made it kind of obvious. This is not a movie I would watch again (probably because it's too long), but this is something that surely makes people wise or even change the viewpoint of life.

I decided not to watch those meaningless lame movies anymore. (Still, I watched Me, Myself and Irene[/b] with my boyfriend on a really boring day. Nothing to say about it really.)
I think I will keep up watching this type of movies. I'm planning to watch Slumdog Millionaire.

Wow, I loved Requiem for a Dream... but it's one of those movies that after watching I think, "That's the best movie I never want to see again!" So good but so depressing and disturbing. All the characters went through such awful stuff... Still, it's definitely worth seeing at least once!

Alpha Dog - I just finished Alpha Dog a couple hours ago, and I'm still sad! If anyone has seen the movie, they know why. The movie is based on a real life story of a boy who is "kidnapped" because his drug addicted brother owes a drug dealer money. It turns into a downward spiral. I was actually surprised with Justin Timberlake's acting, and of course Emile did a great job, as always. A must see, but not without tissues!

SunsetBoulevard I loved Benjamin Button and was a bit sad when it didn't take the best picture, I thooght it was fantastic from the beginning to the end, such a different concept and Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett were incredible, I never wanted it to end and cried at the ending:(

But for a hilarious different movie and it's so not my thing but not it is was Madea Goes To Jail a laugh a minute what a genuis Tyler Perry is. He played 3 different characters, plus produced, directed, wrote and starred in it.. His family were a bunch of losers, and the dialogue between them was a riot. The part where he was told to go to Anger Managment was so funny. I couldn't stop laughing. It was Dr. Phil and the rhetoric between them was brilliant. Dr. Phil "are you angry" Madea "Are you angry" an on and on he'd ask him a question and Madea would throw it right back at Dr. Phil hysterical. "How do you sleep at night" How do you sleep at night'' :guffaw:There was also a dark side to this movie the little girl who played Bill Cosby's daughter Kenisha Pulliam Knight was a prostitute, and her trials and tribulations. I really enjoyed this flick! Oh, [thank's for the edit buttom] the jail parts, OMG, unbelibveable she rocked and no one messed with her. sooo funny!

^^ I'm glad to hear the movie get such a good review! I was concerned it wasn't gonna do well, but I should have known better, I mean, it's Tyler Perry! Thanks for the review. Based off what you said, and what other people have told me, it looks like I may go see it this weekend!

The Fog

Ok, this whole movie was pretty much weird. Nothing really made sense. And the ending had me looking at the tv cross-eyed. At least Tom Welling was in it, so it didn't drive me completely crazy

Basically all I can gather about the ending is that the spirit of one of the people that was killed 100 years ago by the descendants of the founders of the island kisses the character of Elizabeth and turns her into a spirit ... :wtf:

Slumdog Millionaire
To be honest, I was expecting a lot more. Everybody said it was "sooo gooood", and I thought it would be worth watching because it won 8 Oscars for a reason. I'm not saying it was a waste of time, but I thought it would be mind-blowing. The story was great but also sad at times.

I was pretty sure that Jamal would lose, but it was good to see he finally won the money. Another thing, I didn't even know this movie would be a romantic one. Yes, Jamal was thinking about Latika all the time, but I thought that was because they were really close friends when they were kids. Does anybody else think that the dance in the very end was absolutely lame? :shifty:

The Changeling- incredible movie. really sad but so well made. i'm not really a fan of Angelina Jolie but she was so brilliant in this movie. i watched it and then the next day i went out and bought it.

Tomb Raider 1 and 2- i bought these before i saw The Changeling and just watched them this weekend. i'm an action movie fan so i enjoyed it. the stories were good for the movies. the character Lara Croft reminds me of a female Indiana Jones.

^^
I liked the dancing at the end, it was like a tribute to Bollywood movies, what I found lame was the last question at the quiz, seriously? Little kids know the answer to that one...

seriously? i did not know the answer but they did say those three names back when they were the three muskeeters or whatever. they did say all 3 names, so why did Jamal call Latika? and it turns out that none of them knew the answer. lolz.

I saw Watchmen today. It was a little long for my liking, but the bloke I saw it with said that had they included everything from the book, the film would have been about 6 hours long

One of the actors was totally adorkable

I'm not sure if the following counts as a spoiler, so I'm spoiler-fying just in case.

This film may not be suitable for those with an aversion to naked men. One character was naked in parts of the film. Full frontal nudity. And I laughed inwardly every time he was on screen. I'm mentally immature, clearly.

I'll give the film 8/10. The violence was dealt with appropriately. They didn't go on an all out gore-fess, just a couple of scenes that actually benefitted from it. The nudity was also handled well (unlike in 300 where it felt like it had been thrown in at the last minute to tick a box). My only issue with it was the length, as I said. Had I read the book before hand, that may have influenced my views on the film.

Watchmen
I was expecting something different, but I really liked it. The story was a little bit messy, it reminded me of Sin City at some points. My favourite character was Roscharch - he's a weird guy but I wouldn't say he's evil.
I liked that all the characters were really clever. Woah, The Comedian was played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, though it took me a lot of time to recognise him :D
When I bought the tickets, I thought it was going to be a superhero movie like Iron Man, but to me, it turned out as something way better.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. loved all the action in it. i laughed how at one point in the movie AJ was pulling some of her "Tomb Raider" moves with the double guns haha.
