Re: "MaCalleigh....What should've been".

When Mac, Don, and Calleigh got in the door, everyone talked at the same time. "Calleigh, how are you, oh Mac, what did they say"? asked Stella. "She was bitten by a Yellow Sac Spider, a common house spider, but it seems Calleigh had an allergic reaction to it". "Oh goodness, now what do you have to do"? "It seems we need vaccum everywhere, including window sills, floor boards, dark areas, and basement.

"Mac....are you telling us there may be a nest of them in your home"? asked Sheldon. "I'm not sure, but as soon as I get my wife settled, we should have a look around". "Just put me on the couch Mac, and bring me Macalleigh, how has she been Stella"? "She's been the perfect Angel, though she may be hungry". "Stel...in the car is a case of Formula, can you get it out, and heat a bottle for Macalleigh"? "Sure Mac".

With Calleigh settled on the couch, feeding Macalleigh, Mac, Sheldon, Horatio, and Danny, checked the dark areas of the house. "Anything Mac"? "No.. nothing yet, it could have been a fluke". "Mac......yelled Danny, we found something". heading into the basement, Mac found Horatio aiming a flashlight above the Laundry room ceiling. "Look Mac, I think we've found their nesting area". As Mac looked up, he could see the spun silken sacs. "Danny, grab me the vaccum". "Why not just smack them with the broom"?

"You can't Danny, if we disturb the nest, they will fall to the ground, allowing them to escape to other areas of our home". "Christ...okay, hold on". Grabbing the vaccum, Danny brought it too Mac. "Here, now what"? Turning on the vaccum, Mac sucked the sac into the vaccum, turned it off, tied the bag, and told Danny to take it outside, in the cold. "Umm..how many eggs do they lay"? asked Danny. "Approximately 30 to 40 eggs in each sac", said Sheldon. "Of course you would know", said Danny.

After they had finished inspecting their home, Mac checked on his wife. "How are you feeling love"? "Fine, just a little tired, did you find anything"? "We did love, quite a few nest's, but we are positive we got them all". "Hey Mac, tell us more about these spider's", said Danny. "I can do that, said Sheldon. "Of course you can Mr.Encyclopedia". "Funny Danno, very funny, shall I begin now"? "Please do, we await your expertise". "Fine.....

"Sac spiders belong to the genus Cheiracanthium and the family Clubionidae. They are quite small and easy to overlook—about 1/4 - 3/8 inch long, with no conspicuous markings. The front legs are longer than the other three pairs. Sac spiders are quite pale. A common house species, the yellow sac spider is pale greenish, tan or straw colored. Other sac spiders are light brown.

Sac spiders typically have darker mouthparts and a faint dark stripe running lengthwise down the abdomen. Normally, these are outdoor spiders, but sac spiders often invade structures. Their numbers increase significantly in the fall when the weather turns cool and their food supply disappears. If there are small insects available, sac spiders can become established indoors.

At night, sac spiders actively hunt their prey—usually small insects. In search of prey, they run quickly waving their forelegs before them. Indoors, they can be observed on walls and ceilings, but drop to the floor to seek cover when disturbed. Sac spiders construct a silken tube or sac in a protected area, such as within a leaf, under landscape timbers or logs, or at the junction of a wall and ceiling, and they use this sac as their daytime retreat. This is how the sac spider gets its name. These spiders do not build webs.

After mating, females lay 30 to 48 eggs and cover them in a thin coat of loosely spun silk. The small, white, paper-like sacs are often found in easily overlooked locations, along ceilings and corners, or behind pictures and shelves. The female may guard these egg sacs and may produce several egg masses during her lifetime. Inspect for sac spiders by looking for sacs in upper corners of rooms, ceilings, behind pictures, on window molding, blinds or curtains. During the day, sac spiders may be inside these sacs so vacuuming is an excellent method of control. Remove and discard vacuum cleaner bags to prevent reinfestation".

"Wow...who ever would have thought one little house spider, could do so much"? said Danny.

Re: "MaCalleigh....What should've been".

Is there more to the spider??

Hey hhunter, no, that was just a one shot. :)

With the house quiet, Mac and Calleigh enjoyed the silence, as they cuddled by the fire. "It was a wonderful christmas, wasn't it detective"? "It was sweetheart, and I have a feeling, we will br flying to Miami soon for a Christining". "I know, it's so hard to believe, Horatio is going to become a dad, he's waited so long for this, I only wish his son would give their relationship a chance".

"He'll come around love, give him time, you have to remember it was a shock to both of them, imagine finding out you have a son, you never knew exsisted". "I know, it would be quite a shock". "Anyways love, how are you feeling"? "Better, though I'll be glad when these antibiotics are done, I miss feeding Macalleigh". "I know love, and you can tell she misses it too, as she has not taken well, to the formula".

"Waaa....waaa...". "Speaking of our Angel, I should go get her". "I'll go love, you rest". Kissing his wife, he left the room, and headed up to the nursery. "There's my little Angel, how are you sweetheart"? As Macalleigh looked in her daddy's eyes, she trustingly focused on him. "Come on love, daddy take you too mommy".

When they got back to the den, Mac noticed Calleigh was sleeping again. "Sweetheart...wake up love, Macalleigh would like to fed". Sitting up Calleigh embraced Macalleigh in her arms, as Mac passed her the bottle.

"Here you go love, that's it, suckle it love". As Macalleigh fed, Calleigh leaned her in closer, so Macalleigh would think, she was being breast fed. With the bottle done, Calleigh burped Macalleigh, then resting her back on her chest, she fell asleep.

Embracing his family in his arms, Mac thought back to all the time's Calleigh had been hurt, or threatened, and he often wondered, why God had given him such a blessing in his life, but then Calleigh's words came flooding back..."I trust you with my life, I know you would never allow anyone to hurt us". Caressing Calleigh's hair, Mac whispered..."I love you Calleigh".

Moaning in her sleep, Calleigh snuggled closer with Macalleigh, and whispered...."I love you too, detective".

Re: "MaCalleigh....What should've been".

that's really sweet.

Glad to know the spider is gone. Sounds like Mac has been talking to Grissom

Re: "MaCalleigh....What should've been".

 :lol:It was actually Sheldon telling them about the spider  :lol:Mac started it, and Sheldon took over   though I must admit, I borrowed the spider explanation from the web site, so big thanks to them, for the information. :)

It must have been four in the morning, when Mac woke up to the draft coming from the chimney. "Sweetheart, wake up love". "What is it Mac"? "It seems our family fire has gone out, I think we should head up to bed, where it is warm". getting up, Mac, Calleigh, and Macalleigh headed upstairs.

Placing Macalleigh in her crib, Calleigh walked into their room, crawled in, covered up, and fell asleep. "Aww... come on love, move over, and share the blanket's". Pulling the covers back, Mac climbed in and pulled his wife into his arms. "Now this is better...isn't it love"? "Mhmm, much more cozy, night detective". "Goodnight sweetheart".

In the morning, Mac awoke walked into Macalleigh's room, and changed her. "Morning my little Angel, did you sleep well"? Kicking her little legs, she looked wide eyed, at her daddy, gurgling. "Really...is that right Macalleigh, oh, that happened to you"? Gurgling some more, Mac picked up his Angel, and carried her downstairs.

"We will make mommy breakfast in bed, how does that sound"? As Mac placed Macalleigh in her little seat, he got out the eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit. "Mmm...something smell's really good". "Hi sweetheart, we were going to serve you in bed". "You were, well than, I'll just head back upstairs".

Sneaking a piece of fruit, Calleigh kissed Mac, and headed back upstairs. "Here we come mommy", said Mac with Macalleigh in his arms. Placing down the tray, Mac passed Macalleigh to Calleigh. "What are you up too there detective"? "I'm going to feed you love", he smiled, as he put some egg on the fork, and fed it to Calleigh.

"Mmm...okay Mac, I'm stuffed, no more", she giggled, as he tried to get her, to eat one more piece of fruit. "You sure love, if you don't eat it, I will". Putting the piece of fruit into his mouth, Calleigh laughed, as she took a napkin, and wiped Mac's mouth. "Thank you sweetheart". "You are welcome my detective, and thank you, for the wonderful breakfast in bed". "You my love, are very welcome, as he kissed her lips.

Re: "MaCalleigh....What should've been".

With breakfast out of the way, Mac got a call out. "Taylor". "Mac...it's Flack, we have a Homicide, two male victims, both stabbed, looks gang related, as both are wearing the same colors". "Okay Flack, I'll be right there". "Calleigh...I have to go love, call out, will you be okay"? "Of course I will, I'll see you tonight", as she kissed his lips.

When Mac left, Calleigh decided to take Macalleigh, to have her ears pierced. After strapping Macalleigh in her seat, she buckled in herself, and pulled out of the driveway. Arriving at the store, Calleigh parked the car, and headed inside. "Good morning Calleigh, are you here to have your hair done"? "Not this morning, I brought Macalleigh to have her ears done".

"Awww...it's about time, she's a real beauty, looks so much like her mommy. "Thanks, I'll choice the Topaz ones, to match her birhtdate". "Good choice, they are very pretty". Sitting Macalleigh on her lap, Calleigh softly held her head, while the girl, punched the gun through Macalleigh's ear.

After finishing the second ear, Calleigh headed out into the mall, to do some shopping. Picking up two new pair of black pants, for Mac, two dresses, for Macalleigh, and new shoes for herself, she headed home. "Well it's about time love, I was getting worried". "We're fine Mac, I took Macalleigh to get her ears done".

"Aww...she looks very sweet, but why are her ears so red"? "Oh...they will do that for the first while, but once the swelling goes down, they will look normal, so how was your case"? "Open and shut love, turned out they killed each other over drugs". "Oh my...I'll get supper ready, if you change Macalleigh for me". "Oh sure, give me the crappy job, laughed her husband.
