The Rolling Stones return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Nov. 11--tickets are (this is shocking)$450-$350-$250 and $125-and go on sale Aug. 14 with a wristband type distribution. starting at 6 am (been there-done that)and at 9 am at the MGM box office-- also Tickemaster locations- they're phenomenal-incredible- unbeleiveable-extrodinary-magnificent-magical Mick Jagger- amazing- but at those prices GEEZ- don't know if I can make it this time

"KA" provides backdrop for CSI opener--The scene of the crime returns to Las Vegas this week for CBS's CSI---Set in Las vegas but based in So. Calif. CSI visits it's hometown periodically, but usually on special occasions--such as the series 7th season opener!!! Locations for the two parter episode range from the MGM Grand, where Cirque du Soleil's "KA" provides a back-drop, to downtown's Plaza and it's porte cochere. Stars William Petersen-Marg Helgenberger and George Eads are expected to make the trek, according to producer Louis Milito. "KA" entered the picture when Cirque officials approached CSI conterparts during a preliminary asout and invited them to "keep Cirque in mind" for a future visit, according to Jessica Berlin, Cirque's ass instant public relations manager. More than 20 "KA' performers will be involved in the "CSI" shoot--the season opener is scheduled to aire Sept. 21

Cirque du Soleil plans Elvis show

Details of the Elvis-Cirque du Soleil megashow have left the building. In a joint announcement Thursday CKX Inc. the parent company of Elvis Presley Enterprises and Cirque du Soleil said they are partners in an Elvis show that will open in Nov 2009 at the $7 billion MGM Mirage City Center project!! CKX chairman and CEO Robert Sillerman called it "the first step in establishing a 21st century presense in Vegas for the "King". Construction has befun on the 66-acre City Center site, between the Bellagio and the Monte Carlo. Bringing Elvis under Cirque's big top is the latest collaborative coup for Cirque founder Guy Laliberte, who also landed "The beatles" music for "Love" which opened June 28 at The Mirage CKX and Cirque announced an agreement to create, develop, produce and promote Elvis Projects, which would feature touring and permanment shows, with multimedia interactive "ELVIS EXPIERENCE" throughout the world. Starting in 2009, that agreement will see at least one project open in each of the ensuing years

The e-mail was fairly percolating after a couple of itmes I wrote last week, one about safety issues at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, and another about sluggish ticket sales for Strip production shows. On the former, many readers suggested simply moving the sign to a safer locale on the Strip--some resort could purchase the sign from YESCO and arrange to have it relocated. My favorite idea, from ever-present celeb tracker and occasional pedestrian Robin Leach, was to place replica Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas signs on the sidewalks on each side of the median that is home to the regular sign. and hang a sign that says "Take your photo here" also Las Vegas residents would like to see "Love" and "Phamtom:Las Vegas" Spectacular, but can't afford the ticket prices that run from $70 to $150 (ya got that right) One thought, as an example of how to reach out to locals, is The Luxor is bringing in some headliners like Liza Minnelli and Oliva Newton John at a much lower rates for Nevada residents--We need to see these shows to--

A street festival, featuring a 9:30 pm appearance by Paris Hilton, will continue as planned at Caesars Way, between the Imperial Palace and O'Shea's. Hilton will later debut her new CD at Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace---Rita Rudner's new book "Turning the Tables", hits the bookstores on Tuesday.
