Megan: DNA Analyst (As seen in the episodes 'Losing Face', 'Slaughterhouse', 'Just One Kiss' etc)
Speed: Trace/Crime Scene Sketch artist
Calleigh: Ballistics/Tool Impressions

Although Megan Donner was Speed's mentor, which is why they're identified with each other so much by viewers as being in the same field though they were not.

In the episode where Ryan was a reporter and his camera guy got spikes to the leg (ouch) who figured out the 'drug bubble' on the boat, where they would stick drugs in the 'bubble' on the side of the boat to hide the drugs from the coast guard, what's the actual term, and who figured that out? Thanks.

In episode 108, Slaughterhouse, my DVR cut out the last 15 min.! What happened after the dad got out of the hospital and H spoke with him in front of the house?? Soo curious! thanks

This is going to sound stupid, and I know someone has asked the question before but I cannot remember the answer..

Who is head of the lab? Now, if its horatio then why is he a police man aswell? I know he use to be a detective, but that still doesnt mean he still has the same authority as he use to..
I always thought Horatio was the same as Grissom.. Grissom hardly ever has his gun out.. they are the same position right? Or are they slightly different?

Horatio is the supervisor/head of the lab. Megan Donner was the head of the lab before she left because of her husband's death. Because she left, Horatio was taken from the Bomb Squad and given Megan's position.

Horatio is currently a Lieutenant but he also has a degree in chemistry which allows him to work Trace and other departments in the lab. In the show, you have to be a police officer before you're a CSI. (Not exactly how it works in Real Life though. ;))

So in Grissom's case, he's purely a scientist and will rarely have a weapon at a scene. Horatio is a cop who also has a fascination with the 'science' aspect of a case.
