I hadn't thought of that! They could still be awkward around each other, possibly more so. Could be an explanation for the flirting in Turn of the Screws, and lots of others! In fact I love your theory! That is now my theory, until someone points out it's wrong. :lol:

you guys would be completely proud of me! the past week ive brought my season 4 dvd's to work and have watched an epi a day..at first my friends scoffed and laughed at my obsession with all things CSI/GSR, and today while throwing in a DVD a crowd of people...yes, 6 people! gathered around the couch in the breakroom transfixed on the TV. it was magical!! one of my buddies who pokes fun at me walked in and started laughing at us until 3 people shooshed at him it was great! ive successfully seen a friend go from stage 2 of WPHS straight to stage 7, and am starting in on another. hehe. i feel on top of the world, converting peoples to CSI and the hottness that is WP & JF YAYYY!!! sorry, just thought i'd share

also, i voted for coccoon. we need that baby to hatch soon, i want to see it emerge and have the geeks watching its completion. i dunno, the whole fragile thing with miraculous wings is just beyond cute when comparing it to GSR. ok i've put my two cents in, yay GSR!!!

lol, today it was 'feeling the heat', no GSR but fun none-the-less. yesterday we watched '11 angry jurors', i got my guy friend to admit grissom is hot with a beard and we both gave our "oooo"s when gris asked sara what she was working on with the case. i think he's a closet gsr shipper. ill have to out him while watching butterflied soon. :devil:

Congrats, Herzeleid! You are indeed fighting the good fight. My WPHS was calibrated to . . .what's the highest? 7? 8? when I was a wee lass in the 80s, but I understand the need for the continuum for the newly initiated.

As for my name, desertwind, it has nothing to do with Lady Heather (perish the thought!). I got it from one of my favorite Shakespeare comedies, Much Ado about Nothing. When Benedick and Beatrice first encounter each other in the play, Benedick says to Beatrice, "What, my dear Lady Disdain! are you yet living?" (I.i.118-19). I lurve Beatrice; she's my kind of sassy, clever dame. Hence the name. It's usually the first name I go for on forums, although on TWoP, I came too late to the party, and am therefore known there as "Swedish Chef."

To bring this all back on topic, Beatrice and her ilk are my favorite heroines. When she's in happy mode, Sara is very much a Beatrice type. It comes, therefore, as no surprise, I imagine, that Sara is my favorite character on CSI. When you couple that with the massive sexiness of Shakespeare-quoting Grissom. . . well, I guess the name is relevant to CSI after all.

Oh, and Adz, I love your avatar. Billy is soooooo the sex!

Anyway, I was watching Season 6 clips and oh my god this scene in Bite Me makes me slap myself and go "HOW DID I NOT NOW??!!" If you watch it at GSR.com , which you should, they are so awkward like they mighta had a bad moment the night before or something. it's cute

SARA: Hey. Husband slept in the other room. His reading glasses are on the
nightstand. Clothing's in the dresser.

(Sara looks under the bed covering.)

GRISSOM: That's odd. A man and a woman who don't share a bedroom arrange to
have a night alone, send their daughter to a relative, go out to dinner, have
drinks by the pool, but they sleep in separate bedrooms.

SARA: Maybe one of them snored or had insomnia or liked to work at night.

GRISSOM: Or maybe they were suffocating each other and he couldn't breathe.

(Sara turns and opens the nightstand drawer. She finds a tube and picks it up.)

SARA: Sexual lubricant. It's half empty. Sticky. You know, you don't have to
sleep in the same bed together to have sex or ... have romance.

GRISSOM: I'm going to go see the doctor.

SARA: I'll grid the house.

(Grissom turns and walks out of the bedroom.)

my definite response to the poll - hell no.

i'll never believe they were lovers pre - Vegas. i will accept if they went for a coffee once, but if TPTB will want me to believe G/S were together this early, i will stop trusting them with handling this relationship.

it would change my perspective on the atmosphere between the two of them throughout the whole show. and i wouldn't like it. hopefully TPTB will reveal it was sometime in S6, or they won't say anything.

I think something happened, but not necessarily sexual. I mean, they seem like the type who would meet up for coffee or tea every time he was in town and just enjoy each other's company, but she wanted more, and he wasn't ready to make a comittment. I don't think she was clingy or anything, or even that she overtly made her intentions known, but she really jumped on the opportunity to come out to Vegas to help him, and he just BEAMED when he heard the sound of her voice.

So, I think they were very close, very casual daters, if that makes sense, but not necessarily intimate. I think he enjoyed her company and the discussion and her enthusiasm... not to mention, well, HER. I mean, I think it was constant enough contact that they kept it comfortable casual.

I mean, Cath knew Sara's name the moment she heard Gil say he was bringing in a friend. He trusts Sara, which means they knew each other better than her being a random attendee at a few of his lectures. I think when he was in town, he made a point to see her, but not necessarily for more than a dinner and conversation.

From the beginning, she's known he wasn't an easy man to win over. I don't think that was any different in their relationship back in San Fransisco. Good friends who enjoyed each other's company. Actually, it reminds me of him just sitting and chatting wtih LH in LHB. It's just that casual, comfortable conversation without the pressure of a serious relationship.

Grissom liked it easy because he was afraid of getting his heart broken. So, I really don't think he and Sara were intimate prior to her coming to Vegas, but I do think they were intellectually close.

For the poll, I'd have to say other. I don't think they were lovers before Vegas, but I think they had a trusting relationship as friends. What's more important to me is what's happening now with the geeks.

On another note, I have to say that I'm growing into a more obsessed fan of them everyday. I was watching a video of an old ship of mine and all I could think about afterwards was to go watch the shaving scene. Which I did, about 5 times, but I mean, this is a new level for me. Never have I done this. OK, now I'm done with the useless rambling.

Thye were definately attracted to each other in San Francisco, and probably did have something going on.. however, not what she wanted then.. she waited for him and got him &, he did after all, call her down to be with him, and haven't they worked together on the cases more then any other team members? so attraction, yes, but the full blown relationship later.. I still am going for "Nesting Dolls" after the hand holding. bonding night

For the poll I voted the third option. Because like Alyssa said, there had to have been something there.

Whether it was just coffee when he was in town or maybe they worked together on a case at some point (hey, he is a specialist. Never know where he might have gotten called off too before he was shift supervisor) and he got to know her work ethics that way.

That last one is purely me being ignorant of any facts that say Sara wasn't in the crimelab in SF. That, and I'm to tired to go look it up right now.

I don't know if I'd call it 'dating'. But it had to have been something more... casual then screwing and more intense then random meetings whilst he was in town.

We know she sat in on at least one of his lectures. But unless she really was puppy dog sick over him, I can't imagine that it was just in passing at EVERY lecture he ever gave. Or he might be yelling "Stalker!!" instead of asking her for help. She wasn't specializing in entomology and it doesn't make sense for her to sit in on to many. Or, you know, not enough to build that sort of casualness with Mr. Private Bug Man.

For the first time in talking about GSR, I'm not imagining stolen kisses.

It's more like he respected her. Respected her views and opinions and liked to listen to her talk. Get her feedback on things. And so they did... talk I mean.

Now, I'm aware that I wrote a fanfic to the contrary. But what makes for good fanfics doesn't always involve anything that I could consider fact.

Had Sarah phrased the question as "Relationship" instead of "Lovers" I may have voted yes. Because there was trust there - right away when she got to Vegas. And respect. And that doesn't come quick or easily in any friendship.

So they had something. Just not love.

And yes. I have pink kitty socks. And GSR rocks them.
