Grissom&Sara#21 - Cuz Dating Secretly is SO Much Cooler

Now we're on a new page, if anyone can't be bothered going back and scrolling along to find where this poll we're talking about is, it's in my post here (just scroll down a bit, it was a long post :p).

What'd I choose? I said, much like Zigs, that I think they're going to bring up the cut discussion from the finale. The big question. And I picked this for much the same reason as Zigs, too. However, I do hope that their job situation is what comes under question. That might seem like a weird answer for me to give, but - Sara's obviously on the up'n'up as far as her career goes. She's had more solos than anyone (including Gris and Cath - at least she had in the first 5 seasons, I haven't made a tally since season 6) and she's gotten to much the same level as them professionally, if you ask me, now she's got her personal shit together. Her mentoring of Greg has been fabulous, and she's a wonderful investigator. I can really see a new career opportunity popping up for her.

As for Grissom, we all know he's getting tired of the supervisor game. As someone in the Grillows thread said the other day, I think the last time we ever saw him do an experiment was back with the ketchup those many, many episodes ago, and did anyone else find it weird to see him getting down'n'dirty in the lab in Bang Bang? (or was it WTG? I can't remember). You can tell he'd rather forget the politics and bureaucracy of managing the team, and get back to his roots as a scientist and investigator. So long as she's learned from last time (Season5!Cath? I'm sorry, I love you otherwise, but not then) I'm sure Catherine would be suited to handling the position - or at least sharing it with Gris.

So a shift would do them some good, I think. It'd spice things up, and hopefully get Ecklie off their backs (if he ever gets on them, which is undoubtedly possible - Sacklie/Gonad jealousy ;D Heh.) just so long as TPTB don't make the change too extreme or mess it up like they did with the split shifts in S5. It'd be good for the dynamic, and it's an interesting obstacle/question for a couple to face. It's not too dangerous or angsty or OTT...

More importantly, it'd add some reality to it. People don't hang around in the same old jobs forever, not without at least the opportunity to alter their position a little bit at least. Not in that field. Not with that talent.

And BTW, a little o/t, but - does the sherriff still owe Grissom a favour?

I think you are right, its probably the best way to make their relationship lasting. Grissom should go back to his roots and work as an investigator again but not in the same shift as sara because they are both such strong personalities and so hardheaded they would kill each other while working together. Sara should push her career and Grissom should mentaly support her. Catherine is able to take his place and become the new leader.

Besides are there any rumours about the 7# being the last or will there be an 8#?!

I also appologize for my last post. That was not all me, twas my annoying younger sibling who is a spitting image of me with a bad attitude. My excitement for Gum Drops was altered from "Ohmygawd you guys must be psychic, picking out these episodes for polls the night they're on Spike =P" to "I was like 'Omg, SWEET' and like died. =P" because my sister has no idea what she's talking about. She only likes CSI when my friends are over and she actually knows the episode from me talking about it. Otherwise she hates it and is completly clueless. So, my appologies for being seemingly wrong.

As for the poll, I said smooth sailing for both. I think they'll make it work. And if it starts to go bad I think they can fix it, cuz they're smart like that. But if it doesn't I also think it'll have something to do with Grissom. I've got nothing against the man, he's one of my fav people in the world, but ya know...he's not exactly...smart when it comes to relationships, as we all can say from past events.
Again, nothing against Grissom. The man is awesome and I love him, but it's just the truth, right?

Oh, btw, I love that little promo thing from grissomsararomance.com. It's cuteee. I like it. I've watched it multiple times. :D The clip from WTG makes me happy ^__^

i agree with you jordan. he's still a little socially awkward, but i think he works on it, and now he would be able to successfully defend himself regarding to his relationship with Sara.

but i really wouldn't like to see anything changing, like Grissom giving away the leadership to Catherine and doing something else himself. i WOULD like him to experiment more though. something like for example the classic picle exp from Overload - i miss the Experimental-all-excited Grissom very much.

but i'd say NO to:
1. Sara changing shifts
2. Grissom giving the leadership away to someone else and being less and less important
3. any other change in their modus operandi at work

this is one of the last seasons of CSI. there will be probably S8. i wouldn't like any changes till the end. i love the way it is and i would have a hard time to get used to anything else. if i was to decide i'd just leave it the way it is.

Anyway - he is apparently thinner than he was in season 3, which means his new vegetarian lifestyle seems to be meshing well.

And the beardlessness, while surprising, is pretty much just making him look younger.

Yes - technically it was the actor's choice and I believe he did it this time for the play. Having said that, canon is still canon. Therefore, whatever ends up on the screen should always be seen as intentional. Beards are often psychologically a way of shielding yourself of building a barrier. So in a total technical sense, if he's shaved it off, it might represent him finally being comfortable with himself again.

Which means if he does go on the "sabbatical" it would make perfect sense for him to then grow it back if it were for unfortunate personal circumstances. The current rumor right now is that they're going to steal a little from Billy's personal life and may actually be doing a "death in the family" sabattical - perhaps his mother? Or evil twin Gus?

and yeah, i always had an impression that through this beard he's closing himself. cuz without it you can see his facial expressions a lot better. so now if we wanted to fit this to our GSR concept, i agree with you, he comes back to life. maybe he'll be that little crazy again as he was in first seasons? who knows?
 
*Snort* - yes, apparently the Defamer wasn't just being a random dick. He is both beardless and thinner. Whether cosmetic surgery was the cause (which I doubt, but anyway) or not, he does indeed by those who have seen it, seem thinner than Season 3.

How about Sara? What can Jorja possibly do to her look to make herself any different? The blonde wash looked terrible on her... I don't know - auburn?
 
surgery?? heck no. girly Brad Pitt did some to get rid of wrinkles on his forehead, but Billy??? He's Da Man!!! I heard that he was on this Jorja-vegetarian diet, so i'd say he owes his present thin look to JF.

you know what??? we can totally say the same happened with Grissom and Sara. he lives with her, she makes him try vegetarian diet, and he goes thinner. that fits! :D

Sara's look. definitely not blondie. I liked the way she looked in the end of S6 really. I'd like her to dress like that and wear this kind of make up and have the same hairstyle next season. well, hairstyle ... umm ... what about if she had longer hair and a little wavy (NOT curly)?
 
So Billy is going beardless huh? Oh well as long as he looks sexy who cares i havent seen the promo of the him without the beard but i've seen the other one and is just small pieces from sesaon 5 and 6 it was good at least it had our bedroom scene in it!

So last night i watched "Gum Drops" and i have to say that it is the best season 6 episode IMO. No GSR scenes at all but Sara letting everyone know that he wasnt going to show up was sweet. I thought that was Catherine's job btw... but i guess he prefers to call his girl first.

Oh and about Sara's look i think this season Sara look so pretty. I think that she should stay like that. Natural pretty brunnete.
 
I would cry if Grissom's mom died. Hole-e-crap. =[ His mom rocks. She's never even been on the show, but she rocks. She seems like she'd be very nice, judging by how Griss turned out.
 
I think that Jorja looked nice this season. Her hair was longer than usual and it looked very pretty on her. I didn't like the blonde look, it reminds me of season 3, which reminds me of Hank, which I would rather not think about. Well, it also doesn't look good on her, lol.

And I watched Gum Drops last night. Really Sara? Gris called you from the airport? ..More like he told you after you kissed him goodbye..

How did we get talking about Grissom's mom dieing? Kay, Grissom's mom is cool! She totally rocks man, just cause, ya know, she's Grissom's mom!
 
*cries* I want the beard back :( :( I'm gonna miss it. I wonder...hey, maybe they'll say Sara told him to shave it 'cause it makes it harder to kiss him.

Ugh, I'm in S3 right now, next week we get The Breakup and The Rejection...waaaaaah! *sniff sniff* At least I has WTG to comfort me.

I would really like to see Grissoms mom on the show. She does seem cool and we haven't even seen her. Bring her on I say! (OT I know but how cool is it that the lady who played Cath's sis is born in the same country as I am? I know, I'm weird.)

Anyway, I'm sure they could find something fitting the role of mommy dearest.
