    w. o. w. now this is a different Committed ... geeee, hardcore! you may say i'm evil or something but i would like to see a scene like that. well ... hmmm ... no, no i wouldn't. it would mess up sara's psyche again, and they wouldn't get together that fast. besides, poor sara! again, the little devil near my head is whispering that i would really enjoy seeing grissom so frightened and actually emotional enough to crack a window. yeah, i'd like that  but if i was to decide, i wouldn't change anything in that episode, maybe just make grissom hug her or say he was scared.

ETA: in the poll i went for GD. there was a lot of intimacy in WTG scene, and i am actually able to somewhat imagine a kiss there. but in GD ... whoa, that's a different story. in a hotel room during working a case. good lord, GD all the way!!!

    I'll head on over. :D

I can see Cath kinda being half and half on it, to. Now that I think about it, she'll be happy but she might just also say "You realize what Ecklie's gunna think, and that you could screw up your career, right?" But yeah, either way GSR is real now. That makes me happy. ^____^

I think that the Sara's psyche thing was probably the bigger reason they ended up canning it. In the end, the episode feels more like she's being given a platform to let go of all that, and she does. Grissom leaving in the end is sort of like him giving her that last chance to say goodbye to all of that.

I think that if she was actually cut, or something physical had really honestly happened, like rape, it would've just caused her to retreat back into her shell.

And as far as Grissom freaking out, a) it was because Adam draws blood in the original but b) Grissom would really know better than that in his many years working in that business.

The mute shock of the moment, I think, says more. Yes, we didn't see Grissom freak out, but in a sense Grissom always knows what to do. He always knows what to say. And Sara has always been that black space for him - she catches him off-guard, she impresses him... so it would make sense, to me, if once again he doesn't know what to do regarding her.

But also, he's left powerless. Perhaps the scene with Greg and the pillow is supposed to suggest that he's protective of her, but he wants to keep that part of him guarded.

Like the little tiny moments in the episode where the business executive hits that man - he helps her across the street, he puts his arm in hers'... or in Turn of the Screws when they go under the rollercoaster - it's sort of like he wants to protect her from afar unless he senses something's really wrong or in the case of the former episode, she's dating someone else.

I went with Gum Drops only because we saw nothing of it, and at least we had the scene in Way to Go.

    Thanks for that.

I would have liked to have seen that. Would have been intresting. At least the reaction from Grissom.

I see the pics of her in pink dress are in the Jorja thread.

Sorry - I know we shouldn't comment, but for the people who were used to just dropping lines, the 3 line rule is making us sound like we're writing haikus.

    lol.

    Sorry.

Anyway - would the scene have been interesting? Yes. Out of character? Unfortunately. When Grissom blows up, it's usually when he's passionate about something, but also when he's the only living person who's there to fight for it. In a sense, I think he likes living in the cuccoon of "I'm doing this for the baby" or something.

Because he isn't the sort of person who wants thanks for it afterwards. The stark contrast to that being Gum Drops. So it's almost fitting that it went to Nick, because in fact we've never really seen Grissom on that kind of mission. Even with Nick, he was still trying to stay level-headed because he cared so much.

I think Grissom goes out looking for answers, not people.

Sara, on the other hand, just wants to get things finished. Unlike Nick or Grissom - she doesn't care if it's a body or a child or what have you, she just wants the answers for the case. Which is why her speech in Invisible Evidence happened - she was angry that one case should ever take priority over another.

As for Grissom's jealous streak while we were discussing the Committed scene - what do you think of the scene in the episode right after The Accused is Entitled where Grissom calls in Sara on her day off to work a case solo even though Nick had asked to work solo himself?

Is it him still trying to show that he holds control over her, after being burned? Or is it him professionally teaching them both a lesson about keeping their own wants out of it?

I think I shall go with Gum Drops cause it would be cooler.

And now for the reason I am here.
Sarah? When I wake up in the morning, and it is sunshiny, and life is beautiful and my dog is cuddling me and I'm a happy lady? The ABSOLUTE LAST THING I EVER WANT TO SEE is the kind of message that you sent me this morning. I will punish you until the end of time for that, and by that, I mean not go to Snakes on a Plane with you this Friday.

That was so almost as bad as those people who write erotic fanfic about actors. Not that I've ever even heard of those, of course...

Well, I picked Gum Drops, fully expecting to be the only one, because, well for one there is more icon making material in a scene where you actually see two people kissing, rather than a blackout with heavy breathing or Gris just sitting at a table drinking coffee. Although, Sara in a towel is something many fans would undoubtedly enjoy seeing, lol.

Much like Sarah, I also picked it because, in WTG we already have a scene. It would be nice to have something - a moment - that we hadn't had anything of before.

As for Cath's reaction to GSR? Well, if Marg is anything to go by, I think she'll be cool with it. Cath and Sara mightn't be the best of friends, but ultimately it comes down to how much she cares about Grissom - he's one of her best friends - and she realises how much Sara means to him. And also, going by how Cath was with Sara at the end of Crash & Burn, I think she really wants Sara to have found a nice guy who'll make her happy, too.

If anything, I think she'll be wary. Cautious that Grissom's need to "lift [his] head off'a that microscope", or his position as her supervisor (despite Yo!Bling, though I'm sure she was aware of it in that situation, too) could leave one or both of them hurt.

So let's go with BurdenOfProof!Cath, and hope she'll do nothing but nurture the two of 'em - being kind :) I heart Cath when she's like that.

And finally, re: Committed? While the more extreme version is clearly more disturbing (re: "cooler" in the eyes of many audience members) and it would have been nice for our shippy hearts to see Grissom freak out, I think Sarah's right when she says that a) Any more trauma than what aired would have pulled Sara back rather than given her a way to push forward, and b) Grissom would know better than to flip in such a delicate situation, despite how he was feeling on the inside.

Also, I think him trying to hug her after she'd been physically assaulted? Bad move. Many people just really need physical breathing room and don't want to be touched at all after stuff like that.

the scene was in "Let The Seller Beware", right? gee, i haven't seen that ep for a long time, gotta rewatch it tommorow. good ep, btw.

what i think is that Grissom was indeed jealous. well, you know IMO S3 is the most GSR-angsty season in general. we've got Hank, LH, PWF and in the middle of it - Blood Lust.

so yeah, i do think Grissom was jealous, and i'd blame the complexity of his feelings and his inability to communicate for it. he didn't want to show he cared b/c he was her boss and he wasn't supposed to care (that's why he said in TAIE - "You deserve to have a life"), but when it came to a direct situation - sara having a date with someone else and was late, he was just normally, like every human jealous, and he had this excuse of her being late, to punish her. he couldn't help it and probably told himself he was so angry with her just b/c she was late.

later in the season after she got over hank, she knew that Grissom cared and somewhat found the courage to ask him out. and in that moment the Grissom from TAIE woke up again and said "no". it was a direct situation again, but in the opposite way.

i think if anything was about to happen between them, Grissom wanted to initiate it himself. and that's what i think really happened after the two next, less GSR-angsty (but more angsty in regards to the cases) seasons.

Even tough I'd love to have seen it (could be an extra scene if it had been filmed on a DVD or anything) I agree that the "scripted" scene would have been too much. Doesn't really flow with the GSR theme.

Yup that was "Let the Seller Beware" and it was a really good episode although i was a bit confused at the end scene. At first i thought that Grissom had imagine Sara in the doorways because she just dissapeared out of sudden when he was going to start saying something so i was a bit confuse there for a while. Then i saw it a couple of times and there is no doubt in my mind that he wasnt jealous cause it is so obvious that he was. When i look at he scene it reminds me of the "Snakes" scene...Grissom out words, dont know what to say...

As for the poll i went for "Gum Drops" event though i havent seen this episode im going to watch it tonight! !YAY! oh and i dont think the season 6 dvd is going to have any bloopers or deleted scenes...but from what i've read they are commentaring on "Gum Drops"!

o rly??? good cuz i need a refresher course.
Poll: I voted for Way to Go because a)I haven't seen Gum Drops in a really long time (as in, since it first aired), and b)I don't really think a hotel scene would seem realistic to me, because IMO G&S don't really seem like the hotel type to me. I think they would sooner be at home sweet home. At least that's how I see it.
