OT, i love peanut butter/jelly, i had it when i was in the US, i thought it was v strange at first but then realised what the US call jelly we call jam :)
 I realised that too when I saw the pictures on the website, will have to go and try it, get a taste of CSI without CM :D

I don't think cath was demoted either, but she doesn't seem to in charge of swing shift anymore (she went back to gil :D). Gil is the senior supervisor so he's still the main one in charge, maybe she's assistant supervisor or some sort? It just sucks that TMTB seldom/never give us continuity anymore

Again, I'm just amazed that they always seem to know what SELLS the show, but they are refusing to keep bringing it to the show itself. It baffles the mind, really.
ITA, there are 2 versions of CSI dvds they sell over here, one is imported from the states (termed code 1) the other is from some Asian country (termed code 3). The latter version only use GC promo pics for the covers and eveytime I walk into a disc shop I'll just stare at them and forget what I went in for  See, the companies want to sell their products and they know what works best ;)

Maybe TMTB are just trying to be different, giving the viewers some surprises you know (do I sound sarcarstic? Cuz I am :))

-------EDIT-------

Gum Drops is a great episode, I liked how sara was constantly looking out for nick.

Also loved the funny greg/sara scene:

Sara: I think this printing dust is getting to me, can you finish up the fridge?
Greg: Do I get a gold star?
Sara: Ha ha ha

*sighs* They are so much like a family, mom and dad had really done a great job, look how well the kids turn out :)

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W/O H

Give me five minutes and i could come up with a way to fix this mess that TMTB call a show. A decrease in ratings is significant and note that it occured in the SECOND half of the season. I'm not usually one to state the obvious, but that would be roughly when all contact ceased between Gil and Catherine. Hmmm...does anyone else find that suspicious? What I don't get is how I, a 16 year old, can see the problem, yet the producers and writers are baffled. My theory: TMTB are thinking too much. Very Dangerous! You can't be a shipper and still try to write and produce a show, not even if it is GC.

My advice to TMTB? Go back to the basics. Go back to when there were no shippers running the show. Go back to letting the actors act and let the chemistry naturally flow. It's kind of sad when I get more enjoyment watching all of season one than watching any episode in that last half of season six. It's not even because of the chronic, almost fatal, lack of GC. It's because I can't connect with any of the characters or understand what the Hell their motives are. They've all become flat and almost boring. There used to be an automatic spark on the TV screen. Maybe I'm just babbling now, but come on, really who can forget the "personal stuff" fight, or Warrick's fight with his gambling addiction, or Nick's own agenda for getting into the field or even most preformances Jorja Fox brought to the screen as Sara flirting or crying or being a workoholic? What about Catherine's neverending devotion to her daughter and her struggles to deal with eddie. No one can forget that stuff and all the viewers have come to expect that calibre writing. I know I want to watch my fav characters develop.

I'm rambling now, but seriously, TMTB had better shape up or their once-upon-a-time masterpiece is goin to go down the toilet. It all starts with getting Marg and Billy back together on the screen. Promo ads arent enough.

You advertise it, you sell it.

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W/O H

ah, 30%? you'd think that would get someone's attention. maybe it should be pointed out to them. and often. in a way i feel bad for everyone involved cuz it's not good for any of their careers but then again...

so...glasses? will have to click the thumbnail cuz my connection is sucky at the moment. but he does love to lick when she's around.

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W/O H

And chew. He's pretty oral

Yeah, close to 30%. And even the highest rated re-run ep didn't get anything close to the 2005 summer average.

But I think TMTB know it. Of course they won't come out saying so. What I am curious about is how they are going to salvage the show. Hiring an ex-Buffy writer doesn't sound like a stroke of genius to me though.

Yeah, I feel bad for the actors. They deserve better than the people who run this show. That's why I'm hoping for them that they've all got things going on the side just in case they have to bale out quickly. For them, I hope TMTB will somehow find their way back. But I am not optimistic.

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W/O H

Very good analysis, 27dayz , we all try to understand why TMTB has chosen this way for CSI ! why they're destroying a wonderful show and I'm not just talking about our ship, even if, of course, I gonna miss the scenes between Cath and Grissom , it's my ship, after all. But I'm pretty sure they'll have to react after the end of S6 and summer bad ratings (and don't say I'm too optimistic, Ren ) :D

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W/O H

I agree with Catherine, maybe because there is a ratings slump in the US they'll see it as a make or break situation and will get back to how it was a couple of years ago. If CM was in charge of the show back then, then she must still remember how it used to be with the Gil and Cath interaction.

But i think that they should let the actors have more input into the writing, cos they know their characters the best and the chemistry between them. Especially with Marg/Billy because from what ive heard there is more chemistry between them off the show than on it. But we'll just have to wait and see :D

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W/O H

27dayz, I'm glad we agree. Didn't know you were a fellow teenager. I was beginning to feel kinda lonely as a so-called minor. But yeah, totally agree with you. They gotta go to what the show got popular to start with: the natural chemistry between the actors and the really unique idea of forensic science and the fascinating cases. Well they've started to lose the first element, they've got the second element and the third element is also beginnig to fade. They gotta straighten up.

But our constant nagging hasn't really done much as we've all sent a few emails to CBS I think with polls, our ideas, pleas and whatnot. As Gil said, "sometimes the hardest thing to do is to do nothing." But when an opportunity opens up, we'll speak out. I know it.

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W/O H

Agreed, Csiangel . TMTB are so lucky to have two actors with a great chemistry and they don't allow them to play together anymore  I can't understand that .Over here,we talk about their great scenes and each time (or almost), it was in the best epis of the show !

Nagging alone won't do much. But coupled with the ratings slump, if it drops below what they can bear, the nagging might do something. It might remind them, in their humiliation, about what we want, and although many may have ceased to watch while TMTB wander from the science into the paranormal, from sparkling GC into sparkless interactions, from full-bodied characters into cardboard cut-outs, the constant nagging tells them we're still out here, still interested... IF they take note of our suggestions, there's still a chance to win us back.

But if we cease to write, to keep pumping them with feedback, then they won't even have that lifeline when they need it most.

I'm not watching. I'm not optimistic. But I would say that the constant writing is necessary if we nurse even the faintest hope of rescuing this once-great show.

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W

Hey gravy, don't feel lonely, I'm not that far away (agewise) from you :D

27dayz , great advice you have there for TMTB, do you write to the showrunners? Cuz if you do, let's just hope they take it and work on it ;)

I agree with you ren , sometimes it takes quite a few consequences and reminders to make people realise their faults and by this I mean they really see what they are doing and make an effort to change instead of living in denial.

IMO, the slumping ratings should be the greatest blow, they could receive lots of letters from us but still think we're the minority but the dip in ratings will counter any lame excuses that they are trying to make

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W

Woohoo for minors! *Don't hit me, Gravy* :D

That was some opinion, 27dayz. I was really impressed. Now I don't think I'd ever get tired of young people like you and Gravy who ship C/G. I agree with you wholeheartedly. They really need to stop and have a look at the past to really see what made CSI, CSI. But you know what, IMO even if the writing got as good as it used to be, CSI wouldn't be as popular as it was in the first four seasons. One thing we have to accept is that nothing lasts forever. CSI could beat ER and sooner or later CSI is going to be beaten by a new show. That's how things work. The trend changes. CSI had its high and I just don't think it will ever go back to that point. Forensics shows just aren't that in anymore. I just hope TPTB will realize when to bow out gracefully than staying there until there's no other choice but to cancel the show.

I uploaded the Snuff caps. The quality is crappy, but I tried my best. LOL. There are some cute Cath/Sara ones, which, again, make me miss the good ol' days when the girls work well, and get along together. :)

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W

Hey Gravy I'm right up there with you on the "minors" list too you know. And plus we have the same name which makes it even cooler for us to be minors here at the thread .

You're right Erica CSI has had it's high and is probably not going to have another one. But that doesn't mean that it still can't be like ER or Friends and go on for another 3 or 4 years, maybe even longer (I'm really pushing it there aren't I ). But if TPTB keep putting the show in the direction it's going it won't have that chance, it could be cancelled shortly after s7 for all we know. TMTB are just not getting it anymore. They seriously need to sit down and re-watch the whole pack of DVD's from s1, think about what went wrong over the years (I have one good answer for that, they gave up Ann D) and like 27dayz said go back to the basics starting with a little more GC scenes.

Ren I feel bad for the actors too. Knowing the way that the shows going must worry them a lot. Hell working with CM must REALLY worry them alot .

Re: Gil & Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W

Just dropping by really fast.. rants and questions should go here AND here. :D this is your once in a lifetime opportunity!!! just word your questions well, who knows? Billy just might answer it. :D

And Gravy I don't think they only got 'few' feedbacks cuz if they did get only the 'few' feedbacks why the hell would they bother to do a damage control and reply to the 'few' feedbacks they got. And besides, they admitted in Chicago Tribune that they were overwhelmed by the response of the viewers because they got a lot of phone calls and emails. And I agree with ren, it would be better if the ratings slump would continue till the next season (Im guessing it will) cuz it will definitely shake 'em up.

Now on to Secrets and Flies..

(His cell phone rings again. Grissom notes the caller ID and shuts the phone
off.)
CATHERINE: (without looking up) Who do you keep avoiding?
GRISSOM: Ecklie.
CATHERINE: Ah, that means you should answer it.
GRISSOM: No, he just wants to yell at me because I'm late with the personnel evaluations. It can wait.
CATHERINE: No, it can't.
(Catherine gets a tape lift of the black and white particles.)
CATHERINE: No one on your team receives cost-of-living adjustments until those evaluations are turned in.
(Catherine stands up and looks at Grissom.)
WARRICK: Well, she kind of has a point. I do like to take the wife out to dinner every now and then.
GRISSOM: Mm-hmm. I'll do them as soon as I get back to the lab.

^^Another married couple moment. I swear my mom and dad had a similar conversation before! And of course this episode had the famous WWYDWM line:

CATHERINE: I'll have Greg run down the gun's serial number. Nick is covering the autopsy. (Grissom slowly shuts the lid to his kit.) Warrick and I will finish the processing here and I'll keep you posted.
GRISSOM: (sighs) Thanks.
CATHERINE: (quietly) What would you do without me?

And yay Snuff! Gotta love the GC porn scene at the beginning.

Again, sensible comments/questions/rants to Billy should be posted here AND here. ;) Well I know I can count on you GCers and I bet you will ask really good questions cuz you all have mature minds anyways. :) (Hmm.. I bet an old rat would've already read this by the time you all read my post.)

Re: Gil & Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W

Questions questions people!! :D, thanks so much for the links Hottie ;), just got to get my thinking cap on now and try and remember not to rant  otherwise I don't think they'll put my question up ;).

Must admit, I'll be interested in the answers.

Re: Gil <3 Cath #22: PureJoy - What Would He Do W

I love that married couple moment. Insensitive dad v.s. the mom who knows about everything in the family. That was so cute. Thanks Hottie for the cap and the transcript! And yes, there comes the "what would you do without me" scene, where our current thread title came from. ;) I love it that she takes care of everything and he appreciates that. He so needs her to function properly. Hehe. :D

Oh yeah, Christine. Another minor that I really like. ;)
