George/Nick: Texan Charm #12

Found a new interview, at least it is new to me:

http://www.vegasmagazine.com/channels/celebrities/insights

The CSI star dishes on Sin City.

April 11, 2011

The best thing about Vegas is: The atmosphere of decadence. Sounds like a rock album.
Do you gamble? I’ve hit a royal flush on video poker twice for $50K, and I’ve probably won more than $75K over the years. The problem with that is you think you can do it again. So, I’d say I’ve given that back over time.
What do you remember about your first trip to Vegas? My first trip to Vegas was a road trip from Texas Tech with my fraternity brothers. We were barely 21 and broke. I thought it would be a great idea to ride in the open bed of a pickup truck 13 hours to Vegas. Stupid.
What's the best thing about getting out of LA and hitting Vegas? That the plane ride is up, and down. You can barely finish your beer.
Vegas: love or hate? I hate that I love it so much!
One thing you've always meant to do in Vegas but haven't? Ride the Stratosphere roller coaster!
Were you queasy about blood and bodies before CSI? No. But the crime scene and everything is fake. I’ve shared a cigarette with an actor whose neck was slit on more than one occasion.No. But the crime scene and everything is fake. The picture that goes along with the short interview is stunning.

Holy holy holy! Thanks for this, Sookie! :) And man, I would love to run into George gambling in the casinos in Vegas. Of course, I doubt if i would run into him at the quarter slots.

Thanks Sookie. :D That picture!

Who thinks that's one of the pics taken on the 'TV Guide Sexiest' shoot back in season 9 that we never got to see? There were some taken in a red truck if I remember right.

I'm of the same opinion :) but the mind was too tired to think about pointing it out :D

Oh, my! That pic is :adore:

Thanks Sookie!!

Even though the article is dated April 11, does everyone think it's recent? Or just a reprint from an older interview? I can't tell, because I haven't read enough of them. The interview itself cracked me up, he gave some great answers

I've flown from Vegas to Palm Springs though (not L.A.) and he's right about the time frame for drinking a beer, tee hee. I wasn't actually drinking though, because our flight was past midnight, and I was too tired to have a beer and then worry about driving home from the airport.

Does George smoke? I was a little sorry to hear that. :( Not to be judgmental, I just care about his health and want him to live for a long time!

Yes, we know he did smoke and quit around the end of season 6, which is probably what caused his slight weight gain in Season 7. Of course, he was still sexy. I'd take the extra weight he put on than the smoking. :(

However, I think he started again. There's a pic of him and Fishburne. You can tell Fishburne is smoking, but it looks like George is too. :(

With his back surgery and all the pain he went through, it wouldn't surprise if he started again.

If you started again George, please stop! We want you to stay nice and healthy. :D

Good Lord, that picture. :drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

Yeah, that was from the TV Guide shoot.:drool::drool::drool:

I wish we could see more pictures from that shoot. :D

Thanks for finding that, Sookie!

I thought he looked quite awesome during Season 7!!
As cute as he was in the early seasons, he has totally matured into quite a hunk as a 44 year old man. He's only improved with age!

Bummer, I didn't know Fishburne smoked either, but if he does and George is around him a lot I can see him starting again. Especially with the back issues you mentioned. Do you or anyone still have that picture saved? I'm nosy enough to want to see it

My hubby's dad died of lung cancer very young, and the hubby still picked up the nasty habit for 10+ years, but thankfully quit over 20 years ago. Our son has flirted with smoking even though he swore he'd never start. :(

I don't know if the picture is recent, but I think the interview is. Looks like it is from the April/May 2011 iss of the magazine.

most definitely. George is like a good wine. The older he gets the better looking he is :)

I do have them and I'll post them in The Ward if someone doesn't beat me to it :)

My hubby quit smoking over 20 years ago :) I myself have never smoked. I grew up with my dad smoking and my two older sisters smoked. One still does and the other quit about 26 years ago. My dad is paying the price for smoking even though he quit over 30 years ago. He has OCPD :( Fortunately he's not on oxygen but nonetheless it's a price he has to pay with of all his meds. I guess the good news is we live in Canada and he was in the Army for WWII. Veterans benefits help with the cost.

Yup, and we get crinkles and sexy lines and an awesome body and....:drool:

My dad smoked, he quit, mom and brother still smokes, sister-in-law smokes. I wish they all stop, I hate smelling like smoke after I'm there.

I have never smoked. :D

and I'm sure we'll be annoying those people that think otherwise but tough.

That is why I avoid the house of my sister that does smoke. She's the only one in her house that does smoke and she won't smoke outside. I'm so very thankful that smoking laws here are as tough as they are. I know the smokers don't like it but why should we all have to suffer for those that are in the minority.

I hope that if George does still smoke he does it outside :)

Yeah, I've never smoked either...I hope he may reconsider for his health (and because I'm selfish and want him around a long time! )

I started a re-watch of Season 1 last week, and I was kind of taken aback by how young he looked. I've been "appreciating" him since CSI started, and now I actually almost think he looked too skinny back then;) ...but definitely still  -worthy!!

Thanks for the interview link...and that "inviting" pic! I know he's got his buff arms all exposed, so is it wrong that my favorite part of that shot is his bare feet?:luvlove:

Nick last night... :luvlove:

I wasn't so sure about his shirt going into it. We're so used to seeing him in black, white, red, blue - it was kinda nice seeing him in a color that you're not expecting. Besides it did allow us to    over those arms just a little bit there.

As you can tell from my avi, favorite line of the night - "moooove" :guffaw: (I made that avi last night praying that none of you west coasters would use it before I could put it up. :p )

Also love Doc Robbins telling him he smelled like a porta-potty and later on when Nick told him he didn't shower just for him.

Was wondering where were Nick and/or Greg when the others were laying things out for Sofia? They did most of the legwork. There was a lot of their evidence. At least one of them should have been there. :(
