Forensic Science Trivia Game!

Cheers.

Ok. Please define the following:

1. Algor mortis.
2. Rigor mortis.
3. Fetor mortis.
4. Livor mortis.

1. Algor mortis - the period where the body cools after death.
2. Rigor mortis - when the oxygen supply to the muscles ceases and stiffening occurs.
3.Fetor mortis - smell of death
4. Livor mortis - the settling of blood to the lower extremities, because the heart is no longer functioning. Gravity pulls the red blood cells down in the act of gravity . This will cause a purplish/red tone to the skin.

Spot on. The absolute basic jargon would be...

1. the cooling of death.
2. the stiffening of death.
3. the smell of death.
4. the settling of death.

Right-o. You're it, now. :)

Ooh go me! Hah.

Okay, since I did read through all 13 pages of this thread a couple days ago, this question might have been asked. My apologies for having a bad memory.

When and where was the first recorded application of forensic entomology? Describe what happened.

Forensic entomology was first documented in China in 1235 A.D. Sung Tzu, a “death investigator,” discovered the person responsible for a murder by the flies attracted to the victim’s blood on the assailant’s weapon.

Who was the first person to practice forensic medicine, and what year did he/she do it?

The person is Italian, and this occured at some point within the last 500 years.

I just have to add one word to the question.
Who was the first person to practice modern forensic medicine, and what year did he/she do it?
