"Ficlets" about CSI: LV - Give me suggestions!

Ah, Hodges goodness, you've got a good grasp of the characters, Hestia. I thoroughly enjoyed this story (and I know someone who will even more). Keep it up :D

I have an intresting challenge. How about a Moulin Rouge themed ficlet? lol Catherine is Satine, Warrick is Christian, Greg is the narcoleptic Argentinian, and Sara is Nina.(Ni, one of the diamond dogs)

If you haven't seen the movie, then I'll write it, either way, I'm getting a Moulin Rouge themed fic lol.

_jessica, AmandaSzmanda I hope you don’t mind too much that I combined your ideas. They were both so good and I figured that together they would produce an awesome combination! If you want me to make a ficlet with your individual challenge, just PM me and I’ll send it to you. ;) (this may contain spoilers for Rashomama)

It just popped into his head. Sara had something about weddings a while ago, and he didn’t know why he thought about it, but there he was, in the middle of shift, wondering if Sara wanted to get married.
Why did such a weird thought pop into his head three weeks before their big day? They were happily engaged, but know he was having a few doubts.
Then he realized why he was so worried. Sara was not a fan of weddings. She was not even a very romantic person. When he proposed on bended knee, (he wanted to be extremely romantic) Sara did not swoon or even blush. She just laughingly scolded him for his cheesiness.
Greg had to talk to her. He stopped by her apartment after work.

She was reading a forensic book but a bridal magazine was on her table.
“Hey Sara. I see you’ve got your priorities straight. What’s up?”
“Nothing’s up… what do you mean?” She looked up. Greg used his key to get in and she wasn’t expecting him.
“I wanted to ask you something. About our wedding.” He walked inside and took a seat on her sofa. She put down the book.
“Ask away.”
“Do you want to get married?”
“You already asked, remember? I said yes,” she smiled lightly.
“I don’t want us to rush into this. I mean we just started dating a few months ago and you probably said yes because you were expected to… after all I did propose in the diner and everyone was staring…”
“Are you trying to back out?” She asked.
“No,” He responded quickly, “I just… I know you hate weddings and I’m totally cool if we keep dating.”
She frowned at him, “What gave you the idea that I hate weddings?”
“Remember that case… mother got killed at her son’s wedding. Nick’s car and evidence got stolen…?” He tried to jog her memory.
“Oh.” Realization struck her.
“That was before. And I never said I was against weddings. I‘m just against all the frivolous stupid things that tend to go on at a wedding.” Sara got up and flipped through the bridal magazine.
“I already planned a few things anyway. I ordered my dress and I booked a hall. We’re going to have potted plants.” She smiled, pleased with herself.
“I didn’t realize you were so enthusiastic… so you don’t like the fake flowers, huh?”
“Greg,” she sighed, “If the flowers aren't real, how can the love be?”
He just shook his head. Didn’t she say something like that before…?
“Anyway, I’m happy enough to be marrying you. Fancy wedding or not.” She wrapped an arm around him.

~~~~~~~~~~
Sara had just gotten her dress and Catherine stifled her laughter as she watched Sara try it on.
“Damn… the cup size is to big.” Sara twirled around, her top part of the dress feeling loose. Sara was sure she ordered the right size.
‘Who wore these dresses, anyway? Porn Stars?’
“I think I can help,” Catherine got up and rifled through a bag. She handed Sara a soft item that she regarded with curiosity and mortification.
“Is this a-”
“Falsie? Yeah. I got these for Lindsey,” Catherine laughed, “She was complaining she looked ‘flat’ in her bridesmaid dress. Looks like you could use it more.”
“Wow… thanks?” She held the ‘falsies’ and decided what the heck. After she put them on, the dress was a much better fit.
“Greg will love them! But he‘ll be in for a surprise on the honeymoon,” Catherine clapped.
“Yeah, that‘s what I want. To dash my future husband’s high hopes.” Sara deadpanned.
After she quickly got out of her dress, she thanked Catherine and sent her on her way.
She didn’t even remember about her little ‘helpers’ until later in the evening.
“Hey, what’s this?” Greg found them in a small box in Sara’s drawer. He squeezed one of them softly as he recalled his encounter with one a while ago.
“What?” Sara walked in.
“This.” He held up the item she had worn with her dress. Sara’s turned an interesting shade of red.
“You seriously don’t know?” He shook his head.
They offer support… kind of like a bra…”
“Oh!” He dropped one. But then realized what she said and grinned, “Ohhh… wanna test them out on me?”
“I would… but they wouldn’t do much for your figure.” She grinned.
:lol: I hope you all like this one. I just have one more idea to work on. And I have an idea on what it will be. Leave all suggestions, commentary, magazines, flowers and things of that sort right here! :D
Oh aside from My other Snicker one (the one where Catherine Catches Nick and Sara having thier way with eachother in a pg 13 way of course in the locker room in Rashomama) I have another Snicker one
Do one where Nick and Sara get Married
Alright, I’m making Gumdrops' suggestion into the GSR sequel that Tini wanted. (effectively killing two birds with one stone! ;)) I have a few other things to get to after this!
Grissom and Sara are working an assignment together and Grissom disappears. They're isolated, with no cell phone service, and no connection to the rest of the lab, so Sara's gotta find him. Must include the line:
He acted like it never happened. Like they never shared a kiss.
But Sara didn’t let it bother her. Tonight Grissom had everyone working on a big case involving a government official, but he didn’t get involved. He also insisted Sara be paired with him on a case by the desert which confused her and annoyed her to no end.
“I’m almost done.” Grissom said softly.
Sara just rolled her eyes. He had said that an hour ago. She looked over at his shadowy profile which was illuminated by the occasional flash of the camera or her own flash light. It was the dead of night, but she could see the roughness of his beard and an odd thought struck her as she contemplated touching it. She just shook her head as if to rid herself of such thoughts.
He suddenly stopped taking pictures. She hoped he was done. They found two bodies in the mouth of a cave in the desert, so she figured it shouldn’t take too long for them to finish up. David had already taken the body away and Grissom kept taking more pictures - inside the cave, outside the cave. She was about ready to hurl a rock at him.
“Wait here.” He walked outside.
“What?” she stared at him.
“I just need to check something out. I’ll be right back,” Grissom promised her.
She looked around for more clues. There was nothing else. She was tired of doing nothing, and if she didn’t know any better, she would think Grissom was stalling her on purpose…
Sara looked around realizing he wasn’t anywhere in sight. He wasn’t outside, but she
couldn’t see much of anything. It was so dark out in the desert.
Sara tried not to worry. He was a smart man and he was armed. What could possibly go wrong? As she leaned back and waited, she tried to come up with a list as to why she shouldn’t worry. She sat and waited for a good ten minutes.
“….he’s a scientist. He would’ve yelled out for assistance. And he’s got his phone with him.” Even as she told herself these things, she came up with a counter point for every reasoning: ‘Grissom is not always rational. Something might have happened that prevented him from yelling help. And there were absolutely no towers around. He might not have a clear signal or any signal at all.’
After twenty minutes she yelled out for him. She tried to call Brass just in case, but didn’t get a signal. ‘That confirms one of my theories…’
“Grissom? Are you okay? You‘ve been out here for a while…”
She thought she heard some rustling. She got chills and squinted into the darkness. The thick brush of the foliage was not helping and the rocks around were all too easy to be used as a weapon by someone who might sneak up behind her… She reached behind her feeling the gun in her holster.
“Sara?”
She turned around.
He wasn’t there. She heard his voice - faint as it was.
“Where are you?” She tried to keep the strain in her voice minimal.
“Over here.” came his muffled reply.
“That doesn’t help! Are you behind a rock or something?”
He didn’t answer and she got annoyed. He didn’t sound hurt, and he seemed to be playing games with her. She was not in the mood.
“I’m by the cave and we need to go now!”
Again nothing.
“Okay, you can come out now!” She got nervous again.
“I’m stuck in a hole.” Now he sounded closer and dare she say - embarrassed?
When she walked over she saw his upper half struggling to get out. She almost laughed but tried to pull him out. It was a joint effort and he was finally free.
“I think someone tried to bury the weapon here, but didn’t bother to fill up the hole. I should‘ve watched where I was going, but I tried to et out myself.” he looked a little frazzled but as usual his mind was on the case.
Sara just shook her head in amazement. “You just spent twenty minutes in there and didn’t call me for help because you were embarrassed!”
“It seems that way. When I’m around you I tend do be this way.”
“Annoying and senseless?” Sara smiled at him, her irritation and worry nearly dissolving..
He smiled one of his rare smiles in an attempt to calm her down as well as apologize,
“Care to help me inspect this hole?” he asked in his not so innocent tone.
Sara was ready. She replied breezily, “I thought you'd never ask.”
Alright, there ya go - single GSR fan who might read this! :lol:
I have not seen Moulin Rouge (I'm sorry ilovegrissom!) but I could try and research it... Now I'm off to try the snickers challenge.
UGH! You have GOT to see that movie, it is soooo amazing! You don't have to reaserch it...I'll do it for my own entertainment lol. I'll post it when I'm done if you want.
Hehe, Grissom stuck in a hole.......priceless, Hestia. :lol:
And you know, you can`t leave it like this, don`t you?
Sorry about the other GSR shippers, but they are so caught up in their discussions, no one would notice! It`s a shame, really. :(
Thank you so much for the story and your PM!
Tini
Back to back snickers courtesy of SaraSidleStokes! I hope she likes it. It's a little short, but there's two of them, so I hope it counts. First ficlet... :)
She had seen the video a few times and laughed at how silly everything looked.
Archie had agreed and Catherine dimly remembered thinking about her own wedding and how it was almost as bad as the case they were investigating.
As she walked to the locker room she wondered who could’ve done such a thing to get Nick, Greg, and Sara in trouble. It was odd, because there were so many witnesses.
As she passed the locker room she stopped and noticed a mop of hair. She also could’ve sworn there was some giggling.
‘Was that Sara?’
“Ummm… Sara?” Catherine got the person’s attention.
It was indeed Sara and her head shot up like a bullet.
“Cath! What are you doing here?”
“I work here,” Catherine said with a preoccupied expression. “I could ask you the same question. Were you laughing?”
“Yeah. I was laughing. Ummm… I’m okay.”
“There’s someone under you.” Catherine pointed below the bench.
A flushed and guilty Nick got up. And Catherine realized she caught them red-handed.
“I cannot believe this! You guys were totally making out!” Catherine grinned.
“No… he was just… helping me,” Sara tried to save face.
Nick didn’t say anything, but he was smiling and had a hint of lip gloss on his lips.
“Hey Nick, nice color.” she pointed to her lips to indicate what she meant.
“Oh… thanks,” Nick rubbed off some the lip gloss and got up.
“Are you going to… uhhh… tell anyone?”
Catherine looked at him and back at Sara.
“Why would anyone care if you were helping Sara with something?” she winked at them and took her leave.
After a few seconds of silence, Sara laughed and grabbed Nick.
“I can’t believe we got caught,“ Sara smiled, feeling relieved. “We shouldn’t have done anything at work.”
“Well, we were stuck here for a while…”
“You should’ve kept your hands to yourself,” she argued with a smile. “We got lucky today.”
“Oh, well I certainly got close.” Nick smirked.
Sara took a moment to realize what he actually meant and hit his arm.
“Wait until we get home and then we can talk about ‘getting lucky’.”
I should've mentioned this had some Rashomama spoilers! Oops... okay, well I'll post the next response!
Here's the second ficlet. A snickers wedding! :)
He was a romantic. So she shouldn’t have been so embarrassed when he proposed… but he had to do it so elaborately and in front of their co-workers, she thought her face would be permanently red.
Nick chose to come into work riding a white horse and wearing a white tuxedo. The girls were practically falling over themselves as they followed the romantic CSI and she was in the garage with Catherine and Warrick - covered in grease, with a wrench in hand.
“Sara… you’ve got a prince charming in white right behind you,” Catherine informed her as she pointed to the door.
She turned around an dropped her wrench. He walked to her, bent down on one knee and took out a ring.
“Sara, we’ve been dating for over a year and I cannot picture my life without you. I would be honored if you would marry me and make me the happiest man in the world. Will you marry me?”
She saw all the lab techs huddled by the door. The girls looked like they were holding their breath.
“I…” she ran a hand through her tangled hair and looked around at everyone. How could she say no?
“Of course Nick. I would be thrilled to marry you,” She had to hold out her hands as he leaned over to hug her.
“Wait, I’m covered in grease! I don’t want to ruin your suit.”
Nick looked down and shrugged. He wrapped his arms around her anyway and just about everyone clapped and said ‘awww’
:”Aw man, I missed the proposal.” Greg shoved his way through the small crowd. Nick laughed at Greg’s disappointment, but promised to make him best man.
“Hey, man!” Warrick protested half-heartedly.
“Sorry, you never made me best man when you married Tina.” Nick shrugged.
“Well when I get married again, see if I make you best man!“ Warrick joked.
~~~~~~~~~~
She was apprehensive. Catherine said it was cold feet, but Sara told her she didn’t doubt her love for Nick. She just wasn’t fond of the theme….

“Wow. I’ve never been to a southern wedding.” Hodges looked around a little impressed.
Nick’s parents were very happy and Nick was decked out in a beautiful tuxedo and a silver star pined next to his flower.
Sara peeked out of the dressing room.
“You didn’t want to plan the wedding and Nick really had his heart set on a romantic wedding.” Catherine reminded her.
“Yeah. Are the roses real?”
Catherine gave her an odd look, “Does it matter.”
“Just check,” she wrung her hands nervously.
After going outside and grapping a nearby white peony, she reported back to Sara.
“As real as the smile on Nick’s face.”
Sara looked at her blankly.
“Yes! Everything is real! Sara, as long as you two love each other, it shouldn’t matter if you get married in a church or a drive through wedding.”
Sara smiled and agreed.

The organ played and she walked out slowly, holding her bouquet and staring at the man she would spend the rest of her life with.
Sara no longer had cold feet… just a warm feeling of love and happiness.

Awww.. Could it be any more chessy? The ending was definitely a little... silly, but I hope you liked it. Leave all suggestions, comments, snicker bars, etc. right here! :D
