Eric & Calleigh #19 - Spontaneous Nudity Bound To Occur

I wrote Corey Miller and he told me much the same thing regarding E/C except he said "as for E/C, hey ya never know" He also said that since the other shows went with Grissom and Sara and the two on NY (don't watch that one, So I don't know their names) they weren't sure if they wanted to go there right now.

As for the whole Ryan/Calleigh fan thing....that is such a cop out, insinuated or not, b/c there is no way their fans are louder than us!! It is obvious the writer's don't take anything we say into consideration with anything else so why start with Ryan/Calleigh and their fans??? Cuz if they listened to fans, E/C would be together!!

Change Eric's life forever huh? here comes a drug addiction, a speech problem, a gone blind, or paralysis storyline...take your pick....I feel it coming.

I just hope they give us E/C some screen time during whatever they do to him...it just screams for it! Then again since we, the E/C fans, aren't loud enough it probably won't happen.

Where's Jessica?

I've been around. Lurking, mostly.

Yay for more people writing to Miller! I would say keep it up, but that would sound rather hypocritical on my part.
Thanks for posting his reply, Skylar. :D

He also said that the chemistry between Adam and Emily was the first thing he noticed when he joined the show.

Aww, I love that. Not that it's difficult to notice the chemistry, but you know. The fact that he noticed that first above all makes me smile. :D

Wouldn't surprise me to see all four of those. And then some.

I think there may actually be a good chance of getting E/C screentime when all this happens. We know she's the first to rush to the hospital - that kinda reminds me of Going Under, you know? Other than Horatio who doesn't really count since he's the boss and whatever, who was the first one at Calleigh's side, making sure she was okay? Eric. Think about in the past; it's not just coincidence that they're always together through the bad times. It's happened a few times too many for it to be coincidence. Knowing that, I think it'd be too out of character for Calleigh to not be there for him. While he's healing (and preferably NOT in a state of amnesia, ugh), I'd like to see one scene. One moment. Maybe he's feeling kinda depressed ('cause who wouldn't?) and she squeezes his hand and smiles? Anything. It'd make sense, because he's always been there for her. But then again, there's the whole continuity issue. *sigh*

He said the same thing to me about Grissom/Sara. It doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever.

He meant that they e-mail him more than we do. I think there are more E/C fans, and it's certainly the oldest ship on the show, but because R/C is so 'in', I guess, their fans are more excited about it, whereas E/C has been around for such along time, we're mostly quiet and loyal. I think E/C is the strongest ship, to be honest. H/C sank like a rock. R/C is so new and so unstable (honestly, there are times when it's obvious Calleigh can't stand Ryan, and in turn I don't think he respects her a lot. Plus, I think Calleigh leans towards more mature and older men. Ryan is like a teenager), I think it may probably sink as well. E/C is still going strong, after five years.

I never thought of that. I naturally assumed he meant it would change his outlook on life or his personality. I didn't think it could be physical. God, I hope they don't make him a cripple!

Me too. Sounds like he's a big fan of them.

Let's leave the CaRWash ship discussion out of this thread. It's ok to mention Ryan when it relates to Eric/Calleigh but when you start insinuating E/C is better than R/C, it's time to stop. Please remember that there are multi-shippers on this board and in this and the CaRWash thread.

Besides, if they listened to everything the fans wanted, everybody would be shipped with everybody, Speedle wouldn't be dead, Tyler would be back, there'd be more crossovers, and some people would be gone. Well, that would be an interesting show.

Honestly, I can't see Ryan and Calleigh together. If you compare the way she relates to him to the way she relates to Eric, you can see a big difference. She totally doesn't see Ryan as an equal. She's always having to reprimand him; I think she just sees him as the younger brother who's always making mistakes. Like I said before, she didn't even want to listen when Ryan made his latest cock-up, but with Eric, she takes his problems way too personal. She is always looking out for him.

The E/C fandom is one of the biggest and longest running, as you can see by the sheer number of threads we've gotten through. We're just not as vocal. Other ships are probably so 'in' right now because they're new and they've had a lot of interaction recently, where as ours has been minsicule. If Eric and Calleigh start getting scenes again, watch this thread spring to life in seconds. Their chemistry is so hard to ignore and not get sucked in by.

I e-mailed Miller before and he was very nice. He also said that there were no plans currently to get them together, but he did say very nice things about the pairing. It's gotten to the point now I'm seriously considering emailing him once a week under various names so E/C doesn't get drowned out. We need to start representin' yo!

If they are comparing it to Sara/Grissom, I think that's kinda good news for us. Although the pairings could not be more different, the writers waited a long time before they decided to jump the shark with them. Eric and Calleigh are the only pairing on Miami that's been around that long with consistant exposure. You can't deny that some of the stuff we've got so far speaks to far more than just friendship. Like I said before, if E/C is gonna happen, I expected it to be around S5/6, which was the same time they went with GSR. We know from Adam they were thinking about it before (S2), but thought it was too early, and that they might come back to it a few seasons later. Well, it is a few seasons later! If they are weighing up the options based on length of time they've been around, no other couple but this one really stands a chance. Doesn't anybody else see this as something positive?

Welcome Skylar! Best get comfy, because you aren't going to be able to leave here. Ever .

Well I hope so!

I think what gives me hope is that the writers haven't done anything to sink the ship. Five seasons later, Calleigh still gets jealous when she sees him talking to other girls and Eric is still doing everything he can, short of back flips and juggling, to impress Calleigh because it's like she's the only person left who still matters to him. They don't get a lot of scenes, but when they do it's like instant magic, like that scene this season where they were talking about Ryan's inevitable screw up. And he still makes her laugh.

Speaking of, this is really funny, but I never thought the things Eric and Calleigh say are particularly funny. Really, they're not. But the cute thing is: they still laugh with each other. A lot. It's like, they're not laughing cause it's funny, they're laughing cause they're together. They make each other happy and giddy.

Yes, welcome to our corner of the world Skylar. This place is like Hotel California..."You can check out but can never leave" Not that you'd want to!!

I think the writers will get E/C together we just have to be patient....something I totally lack when it comes to these two!! They do make each other laugh and it is amazing that even with such little screen time together, they still manage to send us into a feeding frenzy when they are in a sceen together.

It's the little things that keep me going but its the big things that keep me irked at the writers.

Happy Holidays Everyone :)

Okay, now we have Jess back, and Caro disappears? I guess y'all are just busy with Chrimbo stuff :).

Exactly. Eric and Calleigh are always there for each other when it matters, and even though we haven't got many scenes with them recently, but whenever we get something, no matter how small, they make it into something special, like Calleigh protecting and lying for Eric in Shattered, Calleigh talking to Eric outside the hospital in Nailed, and Calleigh being the one there when Eric found out about Marisol. All of those examples are from Season 4, which was not only a bad season for the characters individually (Robo-Cal, Snake-ness), but for the pairing. I still feel a certain inevitability with them. I think it's fate. I think something will happen sooner or later, but whether or not it works out is up for debate.

They are really cute and funny. Eric and Calleigh have been so miserable lately, yet whenever they get together they make each other laugh and smile. It makes me feel good when I watch it too, their happiness is contagious :D.

I think Eric going through something major is a great opportunity for some Eric/Cal interaction. What would you guys like to see out of this?

I think asking for them to get together is a little much but I wouldn't mind some really good 'we're friends but deep down we are more' scenes..ya know? We know they care about each other so I wouldn't mind seeing something along the lines of helping him when he gets out of the hospital or her being an emotional rock for him, after it happens. That is just the type of relationship I see them having and then maybe it evolving from there.

Anyway. I was hoping to enter the challenge, but I don't think I'll have the time. It's been so long since I wrote a E/C fic, but I'll try to write something soon.

He. I don't even think I'll finish it in time.

That is so cute how he noticed Adam and Emily's chemistry the first time he came on the set. Awww!!! I know I'm not seeing things!!!

I'm here! I've been working really hard these past two days and now I'm taking care of my baby niece. My other stupid sister came over and gave her milk and didn't burp her, and I had to spend like an hour with a wailing baby in my arms, trying to get her to burp. Poor thing was in so much pain :(. But now she's okay. She saw a picture of Eric and Calleigh and started kicking her feet happily. I'll post pictures in my livejournal.

Welcome back, Skylar. I'm glad you e-mailed Miller and I'm glad he noticed their chemistry straight off. At least they're aware of it.

I'm trying to finish the challenge fic, but it's hard to type with the baby. I still kinda need a plot, too. Oops.

Eric and Calleigh are kinda lame. I think they laugh together because they're both thinking, "omg, he/she is so cute!" Which just makes them cuter.

If you want to keep talking about Eric/Calleigh vs Ryan/Calleigh then I suggest you take it over to the Great Ship Debate - CSI:Miami thread. It does not belong in the Eric/Calleigh thread. Other posters have resumed discussion of Eric/Calleigh. Please do the same, as I had requested just above your post. It doesn't matter who has had more threads (this is Eric's fifth season with Miami, it's only Ryan's third). Just take all this talk to the debate thread.

I apologize. I though it was okay to discuss Ryan/Calleigh in the first paragraph as it pertained to a point I was making about Eric/Calleigh. The comment about the number of threads wasn't directed towards the former, but rather the fact that somebody posted a comment from an email from Corey Miller saying something about E/C fans not being as loud as other ships. It was in no way intended to be a bash at the R/C ship. Again, I apologize, it won't happen again :).

Happy Chrimbo fellow Hip Huggers! I'm guessing the threads been kind of dead as we're all busy with Christmas stuff, (as I am, but I just wanted to check in here. After all, I can't neglect you guys!)

Today I suddenly got the overwhelming urge to watch 'Killer Date', the episode where Eric loses his badge. I really can't remember what happens in it. I know Cal and Eric have a scene about it at the start, but I can't remember their reactions or anything. Can somebody fill me in? Am I forgetting anything worthwhile?

Anyway, I'm off to play a game of drunken Christmas poker now. House (my holiday viewing of choice) got turned off because my aunt couldn't stop singing 'All I want for Christmas is Hugh!'. I hope you're all having a great time, and that Santa brought you lots of E/C porn and a thousand naked Delko's (or Duquesne's, whatever tickles your fancy!) :D

Merry Christmas, everyone! Nottafinga!

I'm kinda home alone today. I know, woe. So I'm trying to work on the challenge. I finally came up with a plot as Ana Delia kept kicking me in her sleep. How rude!

Here's some Killer Date screen caps:

They so look like a couple of high school kids:

Calleigh: It was positive.
Eric: What?!
Calleigh: What are we going to do?
Eric: We'll have to tell our parents.
Calleigh: Oh my God.

Another frustrating tid bit: in the original script there was a part where Ryan says something mean about Eric and Calleigh chides him about it. I think in the episode he does say something about it, though, right? I don't remember. But in the script he went on and on about how irresponsible Eric is, blah blah, and Calleigh really gets pissed at him. Seriously, who edited season 4 and 5? I hate that person.

Killer Date was good for the Ryan/Valera stuff, though. Good times.

Well...in Nailed, when Eric didn't get to the scene and Ryan got sent instead, he mentioned something to Calleigh about it. I don't remember what exactly it was, but I made a big deal of it, lol. I think Ryan said something to the effect of "He's making this a habit..." and Calleigh replied "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."

Merry Christmas, y'all! :D
