It would have been nicer if they mentioned him at least another time in these last 3 years.

Duke was in a couple of scenes in that ep, and I think he was still working out his problem, but he did say he didn't know what he'd do w/out Cal, so I think that implied she was still helping him, but he was still working, etc. I'm just glad that "Under the Influence" was not Duke's last ep., cause then I'd really be wondering. However, I totally agree that they should've at least mentioned Duke (aside from the "Divorce" comment in Season 5's "Just Murdered.")

Florry86 Wrote: At least they should have mentioned him during her kidnapping stuff. Great choice not to mention both her boyfriend & her dad in that episode:rolleyes: . Come on....nobody informed Duke about Calleigh's disappearance?? I mean she was missing for more than 24 hours.
I'd really love to see him back...in a normal situation too:p
Yea, exactly!! I mean, that's what made "All In" somewhat unrealistic to me. Did her family not care that she was missing for over 24 hours?? Where the heck was her dad? Did he not notice? Personally, I was hoping to get a scene where Duke comes down to the lab to look for Cal, and H, being her boss, has to explain what happened and Duke gets pissed, etc., then breaks down. I think it would've been a nice moment.

And I also didn't get where the heck Jake flew off too. Even from a "non-Cake-shipper" standpoint, you have to admit it doesn't make sense. Those two had a relationship, and it was never officially ended — as far as we knew, Jake was still working w/the MDPD. So where the heck was he for Cal's kidnapping - sleeping? If something happened to Jake - he got fired, moved, they broke up, etc — that should've at least been said. It was such a gaping hole in the ep - as if TPTB were desperately trying to make Jake look incredibly bad so that Eric would look really good in this whole "triangle thing" they were trying to do. I don't know.

Anyway, I really hope TPTB bring back Duke, and tie up the loose ends w/Jake somehow.

Well aside that comment we have to worry about Duke's disappearance:wtf:.

Maybe Duke was trying to get drunk because of the news:lol:.
Now, seriously I think he should have been informed about her abduction or at least a little bit worried not to get in touch w/ her for over over 24 hours ( I think they usually get in touch every day ;) )
I would have loved a scene like the one you mentioned. It really could have remembered us the good old times, the real soul of CSI:Miami.
Now we have a father who doesn't worry about the missing his daughter:rolleyes:

Well I'm a CaKe shipper but I don't want to get into shippiy things. All I can say about this is that it's odd....one of the weirdest things ever.
Yep it was a releationship which officialy never ofically ended (people can say everything about it but they never showed us it ended...& till that moment Calleigh & Jake ar officially together). Plus as you said we never saw him getting fired or anything else, so it's too odd they never mentioned him during that episode...and I agree w/ you it looks such desparate attempt of TPTB to show how Jake is bad & Eric is good.

Jake wasn't a good choice to develop Calleigh's character ( I still think it was a bad choice in terms of "triangle" stuff. They biult it up...well go on w/ it)??? Well make him go away...do not drop him off as it seems they did w/ Calleigh's dad.

I've got the impression TPTB every year try to build up a good storyline for Calleigh
s3 -Speedle's death, Hagen's suicide & her father's stuff.
s4- possible triangle Eric/Ryan/Calleigh & then Peter Elliot's stuff
s4/6- triangle.
It looks to me they build these storylines for Calleigh but they're never able to develop them properly because of their well-know problem w/ cointinuity. I mean what was the purpose of building up the triangle without considering it for more than half of a season (w/ part of it completely dropped off)? What was the purpose of giving Calleigh a father w/ alcohol problems who loves his daughter & then drop him off & not to show him in her kidnapping episode? What was the purpose of mentioning her mother in the way it was menioned in CSI:My Nanny...& then...is Calleigh's mother still alive???

I love how EP is able to handle all these horrible storylines in such a good way that they even look realistic:thumbsup:....but come on it's time for TPTB to do a better job w/ Calleigh's private life:rolleyes:

I think the reason they did it that was is because they wanted to keep the Eric/Calleigh tension and bring it into season seven, so they didn't want to officially end JC. But Johnny's a very busy guy and they couldn't get him. They want to wait until the new season for some sort of story arc to be completed. Then they'll either write him out, or reference him (he won't be back for any period of time - Johnny's schedule and all).

Calleigh's been neglected int the whole 'support' system. She's been to hell and back and only had Eric by her side. as good as that is to have support between two best friends, I have to wonder how Calleigh'd handle things without him now. I mean, she's hardly spoken to her boss and I've forgotten what her father looks like.

We need more relationships for Calleigh. TPTB are isolating her, not unlike what they did with H.

This is a very good point:thumbsup:. She's the rock of the team & she's always there for her friends whenever they have a problem. But when she is the one having a problem?? She's always alone or only w/ Eric. I'm all for Eric supporting & helping her but I'd like to see the whole team being there for her & supporting her.
I think "All In" showed this problem pretty well. I can't believe only Eric was there at the enidng. I mean I love what he did throughout the episode, but I missed the whole team spirit. She practically is the one who handles the entire lab & after her abduction only Eric is there to support her at her home?? I don't get it...I'd like to see the team spirit around Calleigh.
She's too isolated right now & honestly I don't know how she will handle her kidnapping stuff alone without the support of her friends:(

That's actually refreshing to hear - I totally agree! I actually missed episodes like "Three Way" from Season 4, where Eric, Cal and Ryan worked a case together (and there was actually a scene with the three of them and Horatio in the SAME scene .) ::Sigh:: I miss the old days when the whole team interacted, even if they were on separate cases. Now, even if they work the same case, the team feels disjointed. I think TPTB are "pairing" people off (I don't really mean ships, just that in every scene it's always two people). (OK, sorry, getting a little OT).

Back to our favorite southern bell :) I think Calleigh's other relationships should be fleshed out next year, including what's going on w/her father, which I find much more compelling than her always being in danger. As for Jake, well I think Johnny may have seen the writing on the wall and headed for other projects. TPTB need to resolve that somehow, though, and it's a shame the actor won't be around for it. They built it up, and I was hoping to learn more about Cal through Jake, but that never happened.

It would also be nice for the other CSIs to actually be there for Cal. I mean Ryan and Nat were in the lab (apparently) when the ceiling came down on her (was that some sort of metaphore?) - why didn't they check on her? Oh, and while we're at it, why didn't H — her freakin' boss! — check on her after Stetler threw her out of her own fire arms lab in "Down To The Wire?" I love Eric, but it's time for the rest of the lab to step up for Cal, too - and I mean more about her mental health than anything else. (see "The Best Defence," "Under the Influence," etc.)

You know...that was exactly what I thought whene she blew up her lab. She pushed also the emergency button. I'm sure that both Ryan & Natalia were there & in my opinion it was impossible for them not to notice what was going on in Calleigh's lab. It was a little bit odd that only Eric was there...I mean she destroyed lab right shen she came back after her suspension.
Plus she was taken off a case & Nobody is there to know why she's off the case or what happened:eek:. Nobody stepe ups for her except Eric.
I love the boy (& I love his interactions w/ Calleigh) but honestly it's weird to have only Eric there for her in all these situations.

I need Calleigh w/ at least two other people from the team in the same scene. She definetly needs help & Eric's one isn't sufficient for her right now;)

She's starting to be more and more a leader. There, alone, without any help, helping the others. A lot of things are bothering Calleigh since she is the second in command, Horatio is too busy following his personal battles and is leaving the lab in her hands, and the others are just being blind to the burden she is carring.
I can understand the technical problems they had, they needed to shoot the episodes really fast after the strike so they organized the actor's schedules so they could shoot more scene in the same time. But people who watch the show are interested in the story, not in technical elements, so the fact that no one in the team looks nearly interested when she is taken off a case, or that H doesn't tell her a word in any of the attempt to her life look really strange, doesn't it?
Gosh, she has been there when Ryan had problems with his eyes, even when he had that gambling problem, she was there when Nick was "stalking" Natalia, Horatio was sent to Brazil. Where are they now? I can just see Eric and thank God, because she wouldn't have anyone to lean on , now that Alexx's gone away...

I know this is kind of old news, but what w/that new "Emmy project" for Emily going on on these boards, I thought it'd be good to mention, it it hasn't been already :)

This year, for the Emmy's, Emily was nominated for "All In" as a LEADING actress - wooohhoooo!!!:bolian::eek: Looks like she's movin' up in the world! I mean, I've always considered her the "leading actress" of CSI:Miami, but in previous years she's only been nominated as a "supporting actress." So this is really good news :)

Of course, I thought "All In" was a great performance for her - actually better than "Stand Your Ground," IMHO, just b/c she was so ...Calleigh in it, you know? She was angry, but still the cool, calm and collected Cal we've grown to love :)

While I have my doubts about her getting a nod, there's no doubt she deserves it for this year. She's had some great storylines, and if the Emmy's really went by just the individual eps they're nominated for (meaning they looked at talent and not just "popularity"), I think Emily would be in the mix.

Anyway, three cheers for Emily! Good luck !

She deserves that, there is no other way to say it. Good episode, great performance and it has been six years of CSI:Miami, it could be the right time to be nominated. Emily is great, she deserves her skills to be rewarded.

ANYWAY, WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL JULY 17th AT 5am:eek: (Los ANGELES TIME ZONE) TO KNOW THE NOMINATIONS.

Long waiting, I'm sure it will be worthy this time.

All I have to say is YEAAAAAHHHHHHH:thumbsup:
I'm so happy for her. She really deserves it. Fianlly she was submitted as a LEADING actress.

Although I loved her performance in "Stand Your Ground" the one she made in "All In" was pierceless also because of the storyline which, honestly, was more realistic than the one in "Stand Your Ground".

"All In" was the best opportunity ever for Emily to show her talent & in my opinion she showed it the best way possible.
She was strong, smart even in one of the worst situations of her life. Plus when Seth kicked her in the stomach you could see a little bit of fear in her eyes:eek:.

I don't know if she will be nominated ( I hope so) but all I know is that this is such a great submission. Plus she really deserves it, especially this year because of her storyliens.
Also in episodes where she wasn't supposed to be the centre of the storyline she was amazing.

Plus as Lusiana mentioned she's been the leading actress of the show for 6 years..it's time to consider her talent.

oh thanks for the info. Lusiana

Congrats Emily!!!!!!!!!

It's great news!Still we have to wait for more than month but it's ok.

She is very talented and it would be really great to see her nominated but it won't make any real difference to the fans:)We already know she is good!!

I don't know Flò, they put the photo on Travis Smiley's site so I think it is from today's apparence. Even because I'm sure this is present Miss Em, more and more beautiful...

You can see it at 7pm or again at 11pm!

Thank you so much lusiana for the info although I still won't be able to watch it:(

Ups:alienblush: I found it on another website & it was from her last appearence on that show in 2006, but I totally agree with you she's becoming more and more beautiful, not that she wasn't:lol:
