Oh Lusiana I'd love to see her family. They must be all fantastic. I love Southern families.

I think I know something about Southern families. They are the same, american or not...;):guffaw:

You guys should meet my family. All of us are from Georgia and Alabama...

I think it could be a really interesting experience:guffaw:. So you have the same sweet Southern accent of our Miss Em...wow!

Yep, I do. Although the twang or lack thereof varies from area to area.

I love living in the South. Y'all should come down here some time to visit.
;)

YEAH!!!! the south is the bomb! even though my state may say north in front of it it still considered THE SOUTH hehe wen i found out i lived in the same state Emily lived in I went nuts my mom told me that if i didnt calm down she'd put me on hyper meds. lol i was very happy. and yesour accents rock out!!!!!!!

The trip is a bit long:guffaw:...Italy-Usa, it's not like I can come by scooter...:guffaw:
Seriously, I'm working on it, I'm saving money, but I really need a lot of it if I don't wanna come swimming.:(
I was thinking about being southern, you know, similarities between american and italian southern. You wouldn't believe how alike we are! Even the fact that we have a really distinctive accent which is nearly impossibe to change...even if ours is not so sweet:rolleyes::guffaw:.

If you're looking Europe in general and you live ANYWHERE in Italy, you're a southerner. Actually, since I live in Belgrade, I could be considered southerner (if you're looking Europe in general), because I live in the part of Belgrade that geographically belongs to Balkan, so it is south of Europe. We can't talk about accents in general, because we all speak different languages in Europe, but, still, southern is southern...

I feel the same way. Italy is somewhere I've always wanted to visit. I've never been to Europe before.

I think we're all more alike than we realize. After all, we are all "Southerners":guffaw:

We should all have a "CSI exchange program"

yall will never guess wat dream i had! It was the coolest! I met emily, i dont remember much except that she was talking 2 someone and then i said omg your emily !!! And I started stammering and she smiled n introduced herself and i had the happiest feeling bc my biggest dream came true. in the end i think i passed out bc i was so happy but it ended wen my dad woke me up....sadly i never got to see the end but i was sooooo happy. anyone else ever dreamed that u met emily?

I can't say that I have. I have insomnia; therefore, I rarely sleep.

I would like to meet her though, I think that she is a gifted actress, and I would like to ask her how she feels about the development of her character over the past six years.:)

I live in the South of Italy, it's my italian accent that's a bit southern.:guffaw:
You know, that's a bit generic...but, yes, even looking Europe in general you can see many differences...but we are also talking about different Countries, it's difficult to compare...

Oh, Southern is Southern...this cuold be the title of a future thread, don't you think? ;)

That's one of my dreams. Emily is a wonderful person, someone you could learn a lot from.

Why not, we could discuss the differences between southerners in other countries as well as our similarities. It could be fun...:)

Actually I was thinking about next Emily's thread, you know, I think we could discuss it here, it would never be off topic...more Southern than Emily I don't think we can find anyone else...

Maybe I have something new for you all, it's an interview:

Southern beauty mag Thanks to ***Rachel***
Emily's beauty bag

and the cover...

Just wanted to put this out there: As long as the potential subject (southerners discussion) deals primarily with Emily/Calleigh then it would be fine. If it veers into a discussion principarily about the different versions of a 'southerner' throughout the world without a connection to Emily/Calleigh, then it would be more Misc material.

But y'all probably know that. Just wanted to clarify in case some don't. :)

^ Thanks for the article, lusiana! :D

“They’ll tell me, ‘Emily, we’ll have to do that one over. You can’t say “please” to a criminal.’”

Why not, damnit? I don't know, maybe I have that Southern mentality too--being from Alberta. (Sometimes considered the Texas of Canada. We even have a bit of a 'y'all drawl' lol.)

It has also made me more aware of the growing gap of poverty in this country. There are a lot of people with very little.

You wouldn't know it by looking at the show. I digress.

As we finish up our conversation, it is clear to me that Emily Procter has a huge heart and gives it all away, both through her actions and her contributions. Her love for life, as well as for everything Southern, seems to stem from her own advice that she lives out every day: “Be true to yourself, always.”

Aw. I bet a lot of people have fun interviewing her. She always seems so candid and sweet. I've seen so many interviews with casts from other shows where it's like pulling teeth just getting through one question.

I second the thanks for the article. Emily is a lot like all of the women I know here in Georgia. The funny thing is I find myself saying "please" and thank you" even when folks are rude. It is some deeply ingrained sense of southern hospitality. So, having said that, I don't know why she couldn't say please to a criminal. After all, as my grandmother used to say, you get more flies with honey than with vinegar.:)
