EDeN (Eric/Natalia) #2: All about chemistry & forbidden fruit!

Thanks for the happy thoughts MJ they made me think happy! It is a bit difficult but we can still hope! I just remembered why I started to like this ship well except from all the tensefull scenes. I remember that it was when I saw for the first time how fans call them; EDen which immediately reminded me of Edem (heaven in Greek) I thought that a ship named like that must be really great and I still believe it! I just need some confermation and I know it's difficult to get it!
The fact that they are/were cannon actually makes things better, and that's why I am sticking up to them.

There were a few scenes that got me by. These are in order frim Eric's injury....

'Burned' Natalia slightly jealous over just thinking that someone might be interested in Eric. Also combined with Eric being the only one to comment on if she was ok after Lipton grabbed her arm.

'Deep Freeze' this entire scene....him jumping to her side, rubbing her arms, hugging her & Stetler thinking it was more.

Then 2 epis later 'Chain Reaction' This scene

Makes one wonder why the camera zoomed in the way it did on Eric coming up so close behind her. Obviously close enough for Nat to ask for some space And why did she ? She never cared that he stood that close many times before...suppose she was fighting a little temptation there? Maybe...he HAD just few epis before hugged her & helped her with her arm.


'Going Ballistic'. The EDeN scene with her coming in to check on him, & just in the previous epi commented to H about Eric..."it's killing him that he can't work the case".
What was significant to me was that she was the ONLY ONE to ask how he was after being in that shootout, she was worried about him, & TPTB had golden opportunity to show some concern from someone else for Eric, but they didn't, they chose Natalia...his ex-lover!!

What does he remember? Does he at all? Is his brain being slightly impaired have anything to do with why he suddenly just "lost" all feelings for Natalia...or are they still there deep down & they'll resurface when TPTB think the "time is right"??

You're right... those are questions that TPTB haven't answered. Aren't they supposed to address these issues... I mean, Eric is a character that TPTB want to expand on and grow as the seasons go by. Anyways, in my Pysch class we were discussing retrograde amnesia and I started thinking about Eric. Amnesia ususally occurs when there is brain trauma, ie. the bullet to the brain. Eric wouldn't be able to remember parts of the past, including his relationship with Natalia. It's possible for him to regain his memory as long as there are things that can trigger him memory, like photos or objects that look familiar to him. Hmm, it would be funny if he remembered all because of a bottle of Midori!

Well we have proof he's lost some recollection of his past, we just don't have surefire proof he's forgotten his relationship with Natalia. But it's something I've brought up many times wondering about.

I don't get this one thing. Eric said he couldn't remember the past few months before the accident, but Marisol had been dead FOR 9 MONTHS & that was the first sign that he had lost some of his memory when he asked where she was when he first woke up in the hospital!
And how does he know what he's forgotten & what he remembers if the memory is something he doesn't even know about. **laughs at how funny that sounds**

Do you know what I mean though?! It's not like he was married & doesn't remember his wife....people would be telling him "hey you have a wife".
I think there are just pieces missing that he can't seem to put together...that big piece being NATALIA! The whole Marisol/illness/death thing played out at the same time that EDeN did, so if he wasn't aware of Marisol even being dead then who the hell knows if he even remembers his relationship with Nat!!! It gets on my nerves..this..this damn mystery.:shifty:

Ummm yeah, he needs something to trigger things. Like any recollection of his past with Nat. Notice he doesn't even comment on Marisol or Rio....or WHY he doesn't remotely wonder why she might be questioning anothers interest in him ....DUH ERIC....get a freaking clue, my love!!

Ok, & this one too (im on a roll now) in 'Broken Home' when he frst came back, maybe it was just me but I thought it was a bit odd the way when Eric came in & walked right past Natalia; something about the way the camera walked with him & then went to Natalia as he walked on by...just wierd I think.

I think this is time for Stetler to stick his nose in where it does (n't) belong!!! If we can count on anyone to question the relationship between these 2 it will be our dear friend Stetler!! Eric needs to remember the relationship with Natalia& what was there pre-bullet-in-the-brain. He obviously knows who she is, but the question remains does he see her as "old love 'Talia/cold case worker" or as "newbie/CSI trainee Natalia" :wtf:

I am not really sure that he knows how he feels for Nat. He is attracted to her, at least that's what I get, but he is sure that he loves Calleigh (again no offence to hiphuggersI) I just can't understand why writters keep messing with us. If they wanted a whole new Eric they could easily give him a full amnesia and start over with his character. The way they do what they do just makes things too complicated.
As for Nat; she is obviously in a difficult situation. She wants more than a frendship but with Stetler over her head and now Eric's so called 'amnesia' things are more than difficult.
Why can't the show have one ,no more, one normal relationship? Without amnesia or cheating or misunderstandings?[FONT=&quot]

We don't even know if Natalia knows that Stetler thinks her & Eric are together. That whole thing was just thrown in & then POOF it was gone, so who knows if Nat even realizes any of the rule stuff. I could very well see Stetler bringing it up again though.

What is key is knowing really how Natalia feels also...these people are so damn wishy washy In all honest opinion, I do think she will eventually have deeper feelings for him, if she hasn't gotten them already. I pay attention to what I see on the screen & from where Im sitting it doesn't look like Natalia just sees him as "her friend/co-worker"....there seems to be more signs that she cares more than the average ex-girlfriend would!! She's completely different with Horatio & Ryan...it's professional & with Ryan she just doesn't show the same interest. With Eric, there still seems to be a lot that lingers there.

As far as Eric goes, I don't quite buy that his "feelings" are of true love for Calleigh. If this is what TPTB are trying to convince me of then sorry - there's far too much "off" about the way his "feelings" came to light...I don't buy it. Quite honestly if the situation was reversed & it was Calleigh who dated him first, with EDeN being nothing more than friends then Eric was shot & suddenly fell for Natalia - I wouldn't buy it then either.. even being a die hard EDeN fan!!
But no it didn't happen that way. It was all too clear where he stood in regards to who he wanted before he was shot.

The whole situation in my eyes is completely disrespectful & offensive; Eric didn't like it when he thought Natalia was wanting someone else at the lab...yet for some odd reason....he's doesn't think about that?!!!??? :wtf: Yeah - sorry- there's something way too fishy here. Any "normal" person would see that if your ex is coming out of the blue & questioning another woman's interest in you it's because there's a hint of jealousy there. Did he catch on? Oh hell no.....so WHY?!!!

Eric's perspective of things have been proven to be off - his therapist already told him in 'BBYD' that his "chemistry was off balance & all messed up"...go figure.

It's time to whip him back into shape with a little help from his past squeeze Natalia & for TPTB to fill in all those damn plotholes!!!! :thumbsup:

Wasn't Calleigh the first person he saw when he opened his eyes? Well this is the only explanation to me for what's happening. When he opened his eyes clearly wasn't well. Seeing her there and the way she acted, like Calleigh is acting, and according to how he wass thinking with his memory being messed up it's kinda normal to misunderstand his feelings.
If this isn't the case and TPTB writers want us to believe that there was always something more than frendship between the two, I am seriously going to stop watching Miami.

Yeah, Natalia was busy working the case trying to find the kidnapped victim so she was never even there....who knows if she ever got the chance to see him in the hospital. I mean, my God, he came back to work after 2 weeks so he probably left the hospital the next freaking day TV magic?

I think he woke up & thought he was still in season 3 Seriously, he wakes up, he doesn't know why his dead sister isn't there, he doesn't know even what happened to himself, & to top it off Nat is busy on the case & is oddly no where in sight!!!
"Suffering in silence; misunderstood" > the words Corey Miller used to describe the "new" post-bullet in the brain Eric! I think "misunderstood" is the key word here!!!!

Let's go back to happy EDeN thoughts, shall we??

Why the lack of continuity? I would have liked to see what Natalia would have to say about all this... maybe we'll be able to see that if Stetler decides to confront her about the matter. Knowing Stetler, he probably would. It'd be pretty funny if he suddenly says, "Mind telling me about what's going on between you and Delko" out of the blue... she'd be caught off guard!

Oh, Natalia would definitely have sexy thrillers... LA Confidential, Red Eye, The Cat's Meow and all the ones with smouldering sexual tension and great plot lines. She's a woman of substance after all. Romantic comedies don't seem to be her kind of thing and all I've got to say is amen to that. Eric would probably like her choice in movies... and he'd be surprised and wonder what else he doesn't know about her.

As for Eric, he'd definitely have action movies... he'd so get a copy of Iron Man and The Dark Knight when they come out. I think he'd probably have a couple of horror flicks thrown into the mix like Silence of the Lambs and other films like that... he's not one to watch movies that are all about mindless violence with blood and gore. Any excuse to have Natalia scared out of her wits and turning to him for comfort. I don't blame her... Hannibal Lecter is a seriously scary character!

To anyone who may be interested, I read an interview with a castmember. Given that we here on the EDeN thread are subject to the whims and
agendas of some trolls. I decided to post it as a spoiler. Don't get overly excited though.

The interview was with Emily Procter. It was just some basic stuff. She did say that this "love triangle" between Jake/Calleigh/ and Eric is going to deepen a little bit. This I admit irked me. WILL SOMEONE SLAP DELKO UPSIDE THE HEAD!! PLEASE!!! That could mean any number of things. I do think it does indicate that we will be seeing Jake Berkley more than once this season which is fine with me!! Here's a link if anyone wants to read it on their own. It's rather brief and not very deep. Take from it what you will

As if they have to... there's enough sexual tension and fireworks between them already that watching porn is pointless. I doubt that they'd watch though... the last time they were going to watch a movie, they ended up following porn plot lines!
