I hope this will be fixing enough for you
Chapter 23:
“What?!?” Lindsay’s voice was loud and frustrated, Danny looked at her with chock in his eyes, knowing that Lindsay wouldn’t react like that if it wasn’t serious.
“We’ll be there as soon as possible!” Lindsay looked at Danny, he wrapped his arms around her.
“Mac and Stella, they were… it’s… Stella is at the hospital… She’s shot, Mac doesn’t know how serious it is.” Lindsay took a deep breath, still having tears running down her face.
“What happened?” Danny felt the anxiety take over as Lindsay looked at him.
“They were going to the new theme park, on their way they stopped for pizza, they were just about to get dessert as Mac heard shots, Stella was shot, just like everyone else in the restaurant, except Mac, for what ever reason, he wasn’t shot.”
“Oh my god, we will have to book a flight immediately, I’ll do that, you, go talk to your mom.” Danny rushed out the room, knowing that he would probably have to book 3 tickets as Lindsay’s mom, Annabella, would probably insist on going with them.

“She’s been in and out of surgery all night, they don’t know anything for sure yet. Sorry Linds, I should have taken better care of her.” Lindsay noticed the tears running down Macs face, she decided to sit down next to him, held her arm around him.
“It’s not your fault Mac, you know that.” No more words needed to be said, because Lindsay knew that Mac wouldn’t realise that it wasn’t his fault, not yet.
He would feel the exact same way she did, when Stella was hit by a car, even though she didn’t know that she was going to die from it.
“Excuse me? Are you the family of Stella Monroe Messer?” The doctor looked at them, with a smile on her face.
As Danny and Lindsay nodded, she started, “She’s gonna be just fine, she’s a though one, but honestly, I don’t know how on earth she made it. If I were religious I would say that it was god really wants this little girl to live.” The doctor smiled.
“Not god… Stella.” Lindsay mumbled, only loud enough for Danny to hear it. They both looked up, like they were looking towards heaven, knowing that if there were anything divine about their daughters survival, Stella was involved.
“Well, you can go see her now, but she’s not awake yet.” The doctor nodded down the hallway, as a sign for them, that she was in that direction.
“Here you go. Brought some coffee for all of ya.” Lindsay’s mother smiled, even though Lindsay could easily see the worries through her mothers eyes.

“Hey Kiddo.” Mac stroked the little girls hair, still waiting for her to wake up.
“Detective.” Annabella looked at him, smiled. “How are you doing?”
“I’m alright, a little shaken up though.” He smiled, as he once again looked at Stella.
“It must’ve been hard to face the risk of losing this Stella as well.” Annabella regretted her words immediately. “Sorry detective, It wasn’t… I’m very straight forward, but I guess you’ve noticed that.”
Mac smiled, “It’s Mac, and I kinda got the feeling that you were very… honest..” They laughed, Mac hadn’t met Annabella before, but Lindsay had told him that she could be a challenge.
