The same thing gets said about Joe Torre's job with the Yankees every year. Pre-season, mid-season, post-season, it doesn't seem to matter. Living in Massachusetts you hear of it in the news constantly and he's still there. All I can say is we'll have to wait and see.

Destiny, what was Cleveland's record against the Red Sox this year? Do they have a better than good chance of beating them in this series? I knew NY could beat them, I don't know about Cleveland.

Susan

Well I would have to look it up, are you asking for the entire season, or after the allstar break, or from the beginning of the orginial season up to the post season? I just don't want to give you the wrong stats. ;)

Hey Destiny according to what I read this morning. Indinas record against the Sox was 2-5 this season. Not sure if that's what u wanted.

Yep that is correct which only goes to prove the numbers don't matter, and here is why.

When playing against the "Yankee's" the "indians" were 0 for 6 they were swept. But yet in the post season they came back to take them for 3 of 4 games. -- The "Indians" were infact 2 for 5 against the "Red Sox" (and that was using Carmona and Sabathia)

In the post season the indians have made this statement that all the numbers for the regular season go out the window because the playoffs are a whole new ballgame and anything in the past is basically like training to get to this point.

Thank you Katpin you got there before me, I wanted to make sure I read the samething But then Real life snuck in there and just plopped laundry and vaccuming and crap like that in my way.

In the post season the Indians usually do pretty good against the Sox. That said the last time I watched the Indians and Sox play the headline in the Cleveland papers the next day was something like "Valentin's Day Massacre" because of John Valentin. And that was something like '98, or '99.

I was tucked away in bed watchin the game, and when the Indians recorded the last out, I think I nearly kicked my dog off...lol!

I don't think numbers from the regular season means as much in the post season, when going into a new series....personally speaking, because playoffs are all about doing what it takes to win, new strategies new everything.

Well, thats what its like for my ball hockey team anyway!

So, out with the yanks, and bring on the soxs!! Woo!!

Okay this is too funny you know the rumor mill of how it was a conspiracy regarding the bugs that hit Jacobs field during the Yankees/Indians game. Try this Indians May have had help, and tell me that it wouldn't fuel that fire.

OK were do I sign up for the Cleveland Indian bandwagon. They surely can't lose with history like that on their side.

LOL...yeah....that is a little on the eerie side if you ask me, but hey, stranger things have happened and you just never know...oh the oddities of the world.

Jacobs Field has been open since '94???? It seems like yesterday that they opened the park...wow, where has the time gone. *suddenly feels old*

The good news for the Boston - Cleveland game at Fenway tonight. The rain has pretty much stopped but the temps are going to be kinda cool and there's a lot of wind. Depending on which way the wind is this could hurt the Red Sox with Manny and Ortiz. It may be difficult to hit the home runs.

Susan

Well all I can say is while I was disappointed the indians lost, I was proud that they still tried to fight back.

Game 1: Indians 3 ... Boston 10

While that hurts, they all seemed a little off tonight, I can't just blame one person on the team.

Yeah, they did seem to a little off tonight. The whole team seemed to be struggling at some point in the game. And here I thought it was going to be a good game with a homerun in the top of the first. Probably the cooler weather played an effect at some degree.

But, its only one game, and now that the pressure of the first game of the division series is over with, hopefully the Indians will settle down and play their game, the way they played against the Yanks!

All right glad to see the Sox won. I'm going to sound like an idiot but if they beat the Indians what happens next, I don't pay attention to sports until a team I support makes it pretty far otherwise I have no interest.

Calihan if the Red Sox beat the Indians they then play the winner of the Arizona/Colorado series. And of course if the Indians beat the Red Sox they play the winner of the Arizona/Colorado series :) And speaking of Arizona and Colorado, the Rockies beat the Diamondbacks 3-2 in 11 innings on Friday night. The Rockies do seem to be a team with a definite goal this season.
