One game away...wahoo!! Yeah, that 5th inning 7 run scoring was wicket!! Weren't the announcers talking about how the most of the hitters on Cleveland didn't face the knuckler or a knuckler before so the pitching style was new to them? Well you could've fooled me. LOL! Great game...and I thought it was going to be a tight game seeing Wakefield had the knuckle ball working.

The poor radio announcer here on the morning show, is a huge Boston Fan, and he gives out the sports in the morning...you can almost hear him struggling to say that Boston LOST. *evil grin*

Hey Destiny, have you ever taken in a Cleveland game for real?? I bet that Jacobs Field is full of energy, especially in the past month and a bit.

Woohoo! Go Indians! One more...I hope the Indians finish off the Red Sox in Game 5. If they lose and the series goes back to Boston, the momentum might shift. *crosses fingers* Go Indians!

DJ, I haven't taken in Jacobs field lol I don't think they make enough tylenol. I am happy to sit at home and during the regular season watch STO (Sports Time Ohio) and my father and I cheer loud enough not to wake the neighbors but to point out that we are sending them energy.

As to the knuckle Ball yeah it was said and its true alot of them haven't seen it, mostly its the newbies. Some who have come up against them before (Knuckle ballers) like victor, casey, grady they talked to those who haven't to let them know what they are in for. Like the say "if its high let it fly, if its low let it go". I hope as well that they clean it up here, it would be sweet and not to mention the guys wouldn't have to get on a plane again so soon.

I am concerned about if they make the WS though, someones bat may infact have to come out, either Ryan, Travis, or Victors all of which is good at first base. The reason it would have to come out is that I believe (unless its changed) that since it would be against the NL the pitchers may have to bat, therefore Travis who hits for the pitcher in the AL wouldn't be needed for that. Now I doubt they would move victor as he catches for everyone but Bird.

LOL If I had to pick and MVP on that team it would be like a complete TIE amoung 15 or more people. This team doesn't do or accept anything individually heck give one man credit and he will say "it was a team effort" even if he hit a homer. Wonder if I could pick a "Family MVP" award and just give it to the team. :D Last night when Jhonny hit that homer, CC was sooo proud, you could see it thats how they are.

Thursday it will be Beckett vs Sabathia (ie the game one pitchers) and I am hoping that this time CC has his control back, and not giving the batters more credit then his pitching, during the regular season he is awesome but he had a problem (a rare thing for him and Carmona) so I forgave that like 2 seconds after it. Lets hope our offense will get to beckett early and chase him out quickly.

OMFG did you see the "Manny" show  I was like dude hands down you didn't tie or get a lead, your still down umm 4. People mark it up as Manny being Manny, who claims he would like to return to cleveland one day... Dear god only if he leaves his ego behind.

The indians are like "We hit a homer COOL" but move a round the bases quickly to get to the rest the only time there is a show is when Victor points to the sky, and that one rare time that casey pumped his fist. out of 162 games of the regular season. Where as Manny stuck his hands up in the air like "Look at what I did" and then instead of going into a run/jog he started to walk to first, it was like dude you still have more work to do, sit your tush down. :D

Okay so we have today off, so lets pick the spots in the game that either annoyed you or made you say this is why they are here.

YAY INDIANS!!!!! I was sooooooooooo happy to hear they won again. I can't wait till tomorrow now. I hope they take it & then sweep the Rockies. Would love to see the Indians come out on top this time.

Just when you didn't think it could get funnier...

Title: Indians say choice of Game 5 singer 'coincidence'

Teams have been known to go to extraordinary lengths to get an edge. But the Cleveland Indians swear Thursday night's choice of pre-game singer is not a piece of gamesmanship.
Danielle Peck, a country music singer who also happened to date Red Sox ace pitcher Josh Beckett, will sing the national anthem and "God Bless America" at tonight's Game 5 in Cleveland. Beckett is scheduled to start the game for Boston.
"It's an incredible coincidence. Honestly," said Indians spokesman Bob DiBiasio.
Taylor Swift was supposed to be the Game 5 vocalist, but when she couldn't attend, DiBiasio said a country music booker recommended the up-and-coming Peck. She is from Coshocton and her single "I Don't" is a hit.
"She's from Ohio. Her entire family are Indians fans. We did not know anything about her connections to Beckett. The next day, we find out the rest of the story," said DiBiasio of Peck. "How are we supposed to know who Josh Beckett dates?"

So then folks will this be something new they put in Scouting reports from now on, "those the players have dated" I am sorry its just wierd and ouch this game had enough drama in it to begin with, with the teams playing, and now its up one more step. It shouldn't be funny but I couldn't help laughing when I read it. But I have to admit she is a good singer.

LOL...that is amusing Destiny, sure why not post up the rest of the teams dating history....lol..j/k!

As for the World Series, yeah, when they (whichever AL team...preferably the Indians) head to Colorado, they are going to have to pull the DH from the lineup to include the pitcher...but I am sure both AL teams pitching staff have been greasing up the old bats and prepping for that particular time, should it come. It does suck that someone is going to have to sit, and it will be a disadvantage, BUT so will it when the NL visits the AL....just not as much! If the Indians get there, I don't think they have to worry to much though, the team is strong as a whole, and will carry itself as a whole.

As for me? I LOVE being amongst a crowd of sports fans, but unfortunately for me, there are no big teams here where I am....the EXTREME east of Canada and then some...lol! We do have a QMJHL hockey team, and once played house for an AHL hockey team, but that is about as big as the teams get here. I love the energy of the crowd and the excitment. It's great!

Torre Declined the Yankees Contract Offer

According to Bryan Hoch:

Joe Torre's 12-year run with the Yankees ended on Thursday in a Legends Field conference room, as the manager walked and left a contract offer for 2008 on the table.
In a surprising turn of events, Torre flew to the club's Spring Training home in Tampa, Fla., only to reject a one-year contract offer, effectively closing his successful managerial tenure with the club.

"We respect Joe Torre an awful lot," said team president Randy Levine. "He is a great, great person and a great Yankee. All we could do together as a group is make him the offer that we thought was the best for the New York Yankees. We respect him and he's entitled to his own decision."

Game 1: Indians 3 ... Boston 10
Game 2: Indians 13 ... Boston 6 (into 11th)
Game 3: Indians 4 ... Boston 2
Game 4: Indians 7 ... Boston 3
Game 5: Indians 1 ... Boston 7

Schedule goes as follows (for those interested) If Necessary
Game 6: At Boston Saturday Oct. 20th
Game 7: At Boston Sunday Oct. 21st

Okay I am just wondering WTH Happened, I mean it was like the players forgot how to bat, catch and well fell asleep and really bad clones came in and took over. I admit Beckett (boston pitcher) is good but they seemed either I don't know scared of him or in awe of him and I was like guys please he is a pitcher, and no pitcher is unhitable like that. This team took out Santana three times, Santana who no one has ever beaten more then once these guys beat three times. I am at a total loss of WTH happened in this game cause geez. Hopefully the real players wake up and figure out their not in ohio anymore and that they slept through the whole thing last night and will play normally saturday, otherwise I might need to air slap 'em.

I was pretty proud of CC Sabathia and Raffie B, apparently these two were the only ones who didn't fall asleep.

I'd like to know what happened too...seems like the team just fell apart. Hmmm....now they gotta go back to Boston and face the Fenway crowd...and that is not going to be fun.

I'd LOVE to know what Beckett said to Kenny Lofton to get him riled up to the point he marched to the mound after the pop out....whatever it was, it cleared the two dugouts, but luckily for ALL involved, nothing came out of this incident.

I am not overly impressed with Manny Rameriz and his overall attitude while in Cleveland....he seemed to be a little to cocky for my taste, but that is just me though!

The Indians better be ready to play in Boston, cause there's no going back to Jacobs Field...unless its for the world series!!!!

According to what was wrote up about Kenny and Beckett is that it stems back to 2005 .. wait getting that story.
Here it is.

Apparently the Indians are not afraid of going back to boston they did split there and we hoped for three here, but we knew there would probably be two and back to boston. But they say it here in an article Missed chance doesn't faze Indians Club's return to Fenway Park for Game 6 met with confidence.

As to Manny well when he was with Cleveland he wasn't that bad, apparently the ego boost came with joining the Red Sox Nation.

But the next game is Fausto who apparently is in the mood to really shut this down for good, will it happen I hope so if not well I wrote up something on the team about how proud I am of them. I doubt anyone here wants to hear it but I thought it was good.

Later in another article on Indians.com this was said by fausto "I'm going to try hard to stay aggressive, the same way I always pitch," Carmona said. "Whatever happened last time, I've forgotten about it. It's going to be a new start, and I'm looking forward to it. I learned that I need to pitch, but I'm going to continue to do the same thing that I did during the regular season. Nothing is going to change." .. and .. "I've got a lot of faith in myself and the club that we're going to play a nice game and a good game tomorrow," Carmona said. "Hopefully, we come out of this game victorious, and I'm looking forward for the next."

Go Tribe!

wow.....its amazing some of the things that people hold onto and get riled up over.

Thats a good attitude for Carmona to have. I think I'd feel the same if I were in that situation....and kinda have, with being on our provincial ball hockey team and the different tournaments we have played in. Motivation like that can surely pump up the others in the locker room.

You made valid points there too Destiny about splitting in Boston. Difficult to take all three straight against a strong team such as the Red Sox. I guess the main thing to look at is, Cleveland needs one....Boston needs two.

I have heard that some sports teams thrive on playing away as the visiting team. Better concentration, more focused, less stress (not having to worry about disappointing the fans)

I think the attatude in Manny comes from the media basically ignoring what he does. Around here it's usually just called "Manny being Manny". As long as he hits home runs it doesn't seem to bother Red Sox fans all that much.

Please Cleveland, I beg of you to win tonight. Out of a half hour news cast twenty minutes of it is spent on the Red Sox. God help us if anything else goes on around here - because we're not finding out about it. :(

Susan

 I feel sorry about the news but then if I weren't an Indians fan I would annoyed about the amount of coverage they get here, Since I am a fan well I'm not annoyed. :D

Were trying to get them to win, heck I even made myself and My father a rallie towel lol, take a regular white paper towel and write in blue marker "Its Tribe Time Now". It worked the first night I made it but that last night not so much.

I was at the MLB message board and people from RSN was coming over to the Indians board all ticked off about people talking about how Manny was showing off and that it was Manny being Manny get over it and all that. But on the RSN board when Lofton dropped his bat and then that little argument between Him and Beckett people over there were going nuts, so some from the Indians board just used some of their (RSN) posts changed the name and basically said well get over it, it was Lofton being Lofton.

GOOO TRIBE!!!

SOX WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12-2

Time for us to beat you all next game.

Yee ha

Sorry I'm a little to happy about our victory.

ETA: Sorry about the double post, but I am sleepy and figured get my thoughts out.

Game 1: Indians 3 ... Boston 10
Game 2: Indians 13 ... Boston 6 (into 11th)
Game 3: Indians 4 ... Boston 2
Game 4: Indians 7 ... Boston 3
Game 5: Indians 1 ... Boston 7
Game 6: Indians 2 ... Boston 12

Game 7: At Boston Sunday Oct. 21st (The tie breaker)

Okay again WTH happened, if it weren't for Victor and Garko we wouldn't have gotten two. Heck I got so ticked off I ripped up my rallie towel and then dad handed me his and I went off on it. It wasn't the losing of the game that got me it was the fact that Fausto went out trying yes he gave up the grandslam but did the indians come in and help him out at bat? Geez give me a break, you have gomez there sit Hafner down, you have Barfield there sit Asdrubal C. Down, I believe fransico is there sit someone else down.

The thing is you didn't see no spark, and this team has always been the never give up no matter what. Another thing that gets me is the umps, find the freaking strike zone and keep it there, they were all over the place with it. I can understand if it was the WS having that needle size zone (okay I can't but whatever) but this is just getting to it, the narrowing of the strike zone is just stupid in my opinion.

Tomorrow Jake Westbrook vs Dice-K and the fineal in the whole things. I am proud of this team I am 162 games in regular season they worked their tushes off, against the Yankees they worked their tushes off, they get 3-1 okay, 3-2 still not bad. But I don't understand where their spark was thats just what gets me. I would love to say it was our pitcher, but Laffey (who hasn't pitched in what a month or so) comes out and pitches several innings without a problem.

I told dad they should have had FIVE starter, Sabathia, Carmona, Westbrook, Byrd, Laffey. But what can you do, and from the sound of wedge on sto press conference he was not making excuses, and in his words tonight think about it, go to bed clear headed and get to the game tomorrow wanting to win.

Like I said I am proud of them to get this far, but you know they can go farther but its like they hit the wall a couple times and until they figure out the wall is there their screwed. Lets hope for a win tomorrow or it was just not meant to be.

GOOO Tribe!
