The what is next. Whoever wins in the AL (American League) will then play whoever wins in the NL (National League) this is then the "World series". Both teams have to win the best of 7 games in these perspective current games, then I believe unless they changed the rules the WS is also best of seven.
I have to give some credit to Beckett he has a wild curve ball, but normally CC is no slouch but IMO I think the fact that everyone calls him the Indians "Ace", the fact that its been awhile since the indians really have been this far, the fact that they have a shot at the next level. Kind of put that pressure on folks on both sides. Everyone in the media or what have you made this a pitchers duel and really its a unit effort. Thing is they are doing it again tonight.
I had to turn the sound on the tv down and turn the radio on to get different announcers, Buck and McCarver make the TBS announcers look good.
This is from CC "I'm really upset with myself for not being my usual, aggressive self," said Sabathia, who gave up eight runs on seven hits and walked five in 4 1/3 innings. "I look at it as a wasted opportunity." and this is from Manager Eric Wedge ""I don't think fatigue is a factor," Wedge said. "I think sometimes C.C.'s heart gets in the way. He tries to do a little bit too much."
But I admire this team because they don't point fingers and place blame on one side or another, Kenny Lofton summed it up best with this quote. "It's just one game," Lofton said. "When you lose a game, you get them tomorrow. This game is simple, so you have to keep it simple. You lose one, you get them tomorrow."
While they don't point fingers at each other they do try to take the blame away and place on themselves at times (like CC above said) or the players for not helping out.
"It was a frustrating night," Hafner said. "We just couldn't get anything going offensively and they swung the bats well. C.C. has picked us up all year, and we were just trying to put together some good at-bats and string some hits together. or "At the top of the lineup, I have to get on base," Sizemore said. "I didn't tonight. I have to do a better job of that as the series goes on."
But I like there attitude from what Kenny said above and "You like to win Game 1, but it's not a big hole," Sizemore said. "It's only one game, but we've got to bounce back tomorrow." and fineally Eric Wedge said "We keep going. Today is over. Our guys do a good job of separating from day to day and from situation to situation. We'll chew on this one for a short period of time, a very short period of time tonight, and then we'll move on to tomorrow." I give them props for never say die attitude.
Tonight they have Carmona on the mound he is also considered Ace #2 I just hate that there has to be so much pressure but thats my opinion.
