As I said, it might be an exit story line for Ray. If Langston is staying around there is really no reason for Gloria to even be addressed again on the show (other than the angst Ray will experiencing all of season 12).

I'm thinking too that it'll be the repercussions where Haskell is concerned, because the twin storyline would just be too soap opera-ish and if it is him, he's already dead, and he can't come back in this fandom unlike some other shows I enjoy lol
 
Here's another interview Marg did while in Paris:

Your departure from CSI has been announced for some time now. Where are things at right now?
Marg Helgenberger: I had planned to quit after the 11th season. Several factors made me change my mind, including a conversation with the producers. They tried to find a deal, like having me in only a few episodes and keeping the door open for my character. But we are still negotiating. Deep inside of me I know that I don’t really want to say goodbye to my character and to my colleagues. So I’ll be doing less episodes. For the season that’s currently airing in the U.S., I did 19 episodes instead of 22. It allowed me to travel and to get some rest.

Do you know how many episodes you will appear in next season?
We are talking about 9, maybe 10 episodes and possibly another appearance later in the season. When I was working full-time on the show, it was difficult to do anything else. And we don’t always want to spend our two-months break working on other projects. Now, I’d love to do a play. I’m going to meet with several producers soon to talk about that.


If you appear only in a few episodes, what will happen to your character?
We’re thinking about it. There are thousands of ways for her to exit, one of them involving the casino that she inherited from her father. Besides, I’ve always loved the episodes that explore the cultural specificity of Las Vegas and the underside of gambling. Many people go to Las Vegas for that reason. I would like Catherine to stay as an expert, but not necessarily in the law enforcement.

Who can take over her position?
I would choose Nick Stokes to replace her. He was there from the beginning, and I like his relationship with Catherine. She’s kind of a big sister to him, and she can always count on him.

After the departures of Gary Dourdan, William Petersen and Jorja Fox not being in the eighth and ninth season a lot, don’t you worry that you appearing in only a few episodes might hurt the show?
This is one of the reasons why our executive producer Carol Mendelsohn asked me if I could stay a little longer. I think they are afraid that the show will lose its essence with most of the original cast members gone. The season that Gary left, we also lost three characters. And this resulted in a significant decline in our ratings. It was a setback. But after 11 years, the fact that we are still among the 10 most watched programs in the United States is quite impressive. And I honestly think that CSI's still got a lot of potential with or without me in the credits.

Okay, Sqweegel comes back. For who ?
Langston because he's not gonna tell what really happened in the Dark House. I can't imagine he's gonna tell the truth and then send back to the WLVU to teach and Grissom comes back instead of him...:lol:
Or Brass? He made the flex-cuffs disappear at the crime scene....
Sqweegel knows he's hiding something. How Sqweegel know's that ? Well, that's up to the writers ;)
That would be a nice storyline for the show and for Brass.

I can't see this happening, unless there's more to the story than what Ray told Brass. I just think there's too much trauma associated with this experience for her to ever feel safe around Ray, since Ray was the connection Haskell used to get to her. Yes, Ray did "save" her, but after she recovers from the initial shock, she's going to be going through post-traumatic stress disorder. I would think being around Ray would only exacerbate her anxieties, not relieve them.

People who are divorced get remarried all the time. Some even to the person they divorced in the first place. As for children, Gloria could change her mind about kids especially considering what happened in the finale. Why would you think Gloria would move to Vegas? Just because she's the woman and they're supposed to follow their man? Vegas holds horrible memories for both of them, so I can easily see them both wanting out.

I think that Gloria is going to have a long recovery period - both physical and emotional - and I can't see her being happy to have Ray around any time soon. Yes, it was Haskell, not Ray who hurt her, but Haskell only picked her as a target to get to Ray - and he probably figured out that she was Ray's weak spot once he noticed Ray still wearing his wedding ring.
 
Ray only didn't want kids because he was afraid of passing on the so-called serial killer gene. But he and Gloria could always adopt. :)

Good point, exactly, but maybe she doesn't love him anymore, after all she did re-marry, and told him that "he was still one of her best friends", so maybe that's all. But it'll be interesting to see if she will return and where, and if they will rekindle their romance;)

Good for you, sport, but it's perfectly OK to say on this BBS that one doesn't like a character. If you don't like it, I'll be perfectly happy to remove you. I'm sick of the damned complaints I keep getting on your obsession with a FICTIONAL CHARACTER. :mad: Shut up about him already if you can't take any opinions other than slavish devotion.
