It sucks that people's locations is stopping them from attending . Anyhoo, I started to create a list of what I need to do & what'll I need, fund wise & yeah, I dunno . If I was out of college things would be like, 10x better. I need to find someone to come with me as well. However, I'm not gonna let all that stop me...

Im in the same boat. Sorta. Im at school too, but I also do summer camp which means I work everyday. Although, I could get my older sister to spare for me. LOL.

Im trying to get someone to go with me as well, jorja. I could always meet you in B.C but it might be a little outta my way :lol:

Y'know, that wouldn't be a bad idea after all. I mean, chances are you'll have to fly over BC in order to get to LA as it's so close by. Then you could always transfer flights. It's like a 2.5 hour, maybe 3 hour plane ride. Luckily there's plently of time & I don't wanna say anything extra 'cause I might sound crazy :lol:.

*eta* What's the nightlife like in LA? Like, are the clubs good or no? I just want to have a couple of bellinis & dance the night away . Just that, and no drugs, no cigarettes. I'm so anti-smoking & drugs but whatever others do isn't my business so...

Ooh, how about an early morning session of bike riding or rollerblading down the beach ? I do that by me seawall & it's a blast. Plus, it's easier for me to get up to do that instead of knowing I have to go for a hike or jog :lol:.

:lol: It's cool. The first time I flew was in the summer of 1997. I was going to LA & I was only 11. Anyway, I was so scared & it just horrible :lol:. Then I flew to Europe in 2005 & it wasn't that bad. Well, despite the fact that it took 12 damn hours to reach my destination...

But yeah, that sounds pretty flipping sweet! I'll have some air mile points to use & maybe there could be a discount or whatever. Thank god there's plently of time :lol:.

I guess I should just mention that I didn't want to come across as a shrew about the drug use. :lol:

Whatever people do is indeed their business, I just will not be a part of that scene, nor do I want to be around it. (drugs, I can always drink anyone under the table) I am a PO and sometimes the nutty day job crosses over to my personal life, unfortunately.

I am excited to meet some awesome ladies and scope out hot hollywood men to get lap dances from. Plus, if I choose to move there one day, I need to check the place out.

I am all about doing a little bit of everything while there, the sky's the limit pretty much, I do want to hit at least one or two clubs, do some serious retail therapy, and maybe hit Universal Studios or a taping of a show?

ETA: I am down for bike riding, and I would love to hit Santa Monica Pier. But the hike does sound like fun!

LA has more clubs than the mind can fathom. There's a very cool one called Les Deux that just opened I believe last Spring. Much of it is outdoors and it's beautiful. Actually, you've all seen pics of Carmine there for the Ronnie Wood exhibit. I'll compile a list of good clubs and post them as links once we get closer.

Looks like we're getting some nice interest in a little exercise. Sweet! I'm up for any kind of outdoor activity. I do have a preference for doing it in the early morning though, so as not to interfere with whatever other activities we might have going on for the day. No one wants to sit around waiting for us to come back from a hike, bike ride, run, etc.

I don't care if you do not drink, but I am adamantly against any form of illicit drug use. I see this everyday at my day job and I will not tolerate it. period. It is illegal and it will not only get you into trouble with the law, but it will potentially kill you.

Looks like we're in agreement on that. There's fun MrsG and then there's MrsG the attorney. People's professions really do follow them home. No breaking the law.

Seriously, the daytime activities will involve enjoying unique LA stuff--seeing a show (Leno? A sitcom?) if we can, exploring Hollywood (which is fun), and seeing other unique LA stuff.

The days should definitely involve the uiniquely LA stuff. As for the nights, so far, it doesn't look like anyone is wanting to hold back. So bring on the strippers, baby. :devil: I wonder if that Highlands thing is one of those revue shows or if it's the naughtier kind. Personally, I'm a fan of the lap dance.

Also, I'm trying to get jkladis to come!

You might wanna make sure dad is on board and, if he's not, get his ass on board ASAP. Just tell him we're the girls who drool over Carmine with you and surely that should convince him we're a harmless bunch of big fat dorks. It's a tv show.

Early morning excercise is the best. You wake up to the rest of the day feeling all vigrious & fresh & you can spend the rest of your time having fun. Plus, I find that excercise wakes me up in a way that even coffee can't.

It sounds like the male strip club idea is pretty popular. :devil: It's definitely a possibility, and we can always plan an alternate activity for those that don't want to go that night...or those who are male. :lol: jkladis, if he shows up, is a one-man man. Unless it's Carmine stripping, I'm guessing he'll prefer an alternate activity. :lol:

I'd love to do the Universal Tour, too. I've heard it's cool, and there's a theme park. It's much closer to the Hollywood area than Disney is (that would be an hour drive at least). And it's supposed to be cool. But I think it's not cheap, so an alternative would be going to the Universal City Walk for dinner/drinks one night. Very cool, very glitzy--kind of like Navy Pier in Chicago. I had fun the time I went.

One suggestion--if you guys are game for some low key live music, Hotel Cafe is an awesome venue that attracts great artists. Definitely worth hitting if you guys are game for that. Cover ranges from $10-15 (at the most) but usually there are several performances throughout the night.

allstar and jorja_fan, that's what I'm talking about! People coming from nearby (or sorta nearby) planning to meet up and travel together--that's a good way to go. It makes the trip more fun, and hopefully more feisable. I hope you guys can make it.

Yes, early morning exercise is indeed the best way to go here. When I lived back home I had a friend that I met up with about three times a week at the YMCA at 6 am before work. The days we went were the best days at work, because I was entergized and refreshed the entire day.
