Y'all porn noobs. Don't bring the dvd cases! Just stuff them into a soft CD case and pass them off as music CDs or burn them onto unmarked DVDs and then pass them off as data discs for work! Putting them into soft cases will lighten your luggage load and save space.

For the record, I do not do all the above. Nope.

Of course you're wanted! But oh dear sweet 15 year old boy, the education you'd pick up after a weekend with the dirty old women here just might be too much for your young and impressionable mind to handle.

vegaslights, of course you're wanted! :D

OK let me explain the waters! I come from Chicago, where we believe in tap water! But apparently out here in LA tap water is the devil and people only drink bottled water (which apparently ranges in quality??? WTF??? It's WATER!). Being the good, frugal Chicago girl that I am, I refuse to pay money for water. So I, erm, accumulated a free collection from various places I've been. I do drink bottled water sometimes, but no, I'm still not too proud to drink good old fashioned tap water.

    So that's my story.

You should never ever under any circumstances drink the tap water straight from the taps in the DC metro area. It literally tastes like dirt. I don't buy bottled water though - I have a water filter for my house and just filter the tap water to something potable...

You're going to have to explain how you accumulated a free collection of water?

See Top, other cities face the same pollution issues! It's not just LA. As a native Californian, I can second what Top says, the prevailing wisdom is to never drink the water. Don't know why exactly. It's never explained to us. It's just something we're taught from birth. Don't drink the water. So be prepared to shell out for bottled water girls. ... unless you wanna be really damn cheap like Top, find a way to steal it or just risk your health and die before you make it home.

As for Top's collection of free water, since no one in LA drinks the tap water, you'll often be offered bottles of water when you go places and you can always accept even if not thirsty at the time or, in her case, you can steal them from work. But since none of you will be working there, guess you're shit outta luck on that one.

yes, a freak in the sheets and a lady on the streets, indeed. ;)

and Kimmy , you had wayyyyyy to much knowledge on burning porn DVDs and marking them as CDs and not bringing the cases to NOT be involved with the practice. ;)

You have no idea how much this amused me, MrsG.. I think mainly, as a native Californian, I can relate. We don't believe in the existence of tap water. We allow it to clean our bodies and hands, but god forbid we drink it. I have no idea thinking back on it, why I never drink tap water, but for some reason I don't.

So yes, I shell out money for water bottles as well.

Here in Australia our tap water's not so great either. Yeah the so-called experts want you to think it's fine ... but it's not. So we fill our 2 litre kettle and boil it, once it's cool we pour it into a 2 litre bottle and stick it in the fridge to go cold. It's great.

I'm a big diet cordial fan - Cottees brand - so we make a 2 litre bottle of cordial, pour some into smaller 6oo ml bottles for taking when we go out. I can't stand plain water, although a bit of lemon in it is nice.

I am sooooooo jealous of all of you going, and I'm not coming... although I'm trying hard to get my book published so maybe if I'm extremely lucky and it gets picked up in the U.S then you might just see me after all :D

And as for being white, someone said they get called Casper cause they're so white ... well I'm so white I look like Casper the ghost AFTER being sucked dry by Dracula
    beat that!

Ya'll going on about tap water here in Cali is funny but true. I can't drink the crap, because I can taste the chlorine. Yuck. Trust us when we say, "Don't drink tap water."

MrsG, if you can convince Arkansas aunt and uncle and the Oklahoma aunt and uncle to travel back in time 59 years and marry in August instead of July ;), I'd be happy to attend the board meeting. I'm working on something though. I might be persona non grata in my family, but hey, ya'll can be my family, right?! :D

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

I've been drinking bottled water for almost two years . I wouldn't say the tap water here is awful but there have been times where it has tasted funny. But if I was given tap water at a restuarant I would drink it as long as it's reasonably cold. Water is water right?

 That reminds me of when I was in Steni, Greece back in '05. When we requested more water to our waiter he would literally run to this huge fountain like, 3 feet away & fill the jug from the free flowing water. It wasn't like a foutain here in North America though. You could watch him do it at the same time. It tasted great & mind you Steni is a village in a mountain so it wasn't a surprise. It all depends on the filter system I guess.

I'm like, thisclose to becoming Casper. My arms turn an olive colour while my face burns. I'm seriously considering hitting a tanning bed to build up a tan so I won't burn. It's brutal but my shoulders haven't seen a glimpse of sun since summer & they're fairly dark.

*eta* Pretty, in my culture everyone is family so basically, welcome aboard .

Tell them the wedding date they selected is highly inconvenient for you because you have a strip show to attend. I'm sure they'll understand. Please do see if you can work out something, like to meet us for dinner on Thursday night or something, anything. Would suck to have your whole internet family sitting practically in your backyard and not get to come out to play at all. :(

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

oh wow, all this talk on not drinking tap water - I'm suprised I'm not dead yet. I'm too cheap to buy bottled water, and I'll admit, I guzzle water out of the hose out at the ranch - always have. I have to laugh, my parents never gave me the "dont drink tap water" they gave me the "dont drink water out of the black hose in the yard"... oops... I'm a freak when it comes to water- comes from years as a camp counselor... I drink it like nobodys business, and I have at least 3 Nalgenes in my truck, 2 in my room and usually one in my backpack during semesters... but I'm too cheap to buy a new bottle of water everytime... oops. I dont really taste a difference in tap and purified water - I swallow too much chlorine during swim team season, and too much salt water when I surf... lol

Prettyeyes - please try to atleast meet us for dinner, you know you want to... how could you turn us down??
