Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

I can't drink the crap, because I can taste the chlorine.
Me too. It even has a funny color . Bottled water also tatse funny...kind of salty.
I guzzle water out of the hose
 I think that's the best tasting water  .

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

I still drink both. The tap tastes fine to me. :p

OK, so the two things we've determined for sure that we want to do are a studio tour (probably Warner Brothers?) and the beach/Santa Monica pier. (Oh and a strip club for after hours. )Anything else on the agenda?

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

*Shane can't do the strip club because

1) He's a guy
2) Underage
3) He would need a girl

:p

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

^We figured. ;) :D

Definately the beach/Santa Monica Pier (I cannot come out to the west coast without seeing the Pacific Ocean :p), studio tour (I'd like Warner Bros), and of course the strip club.

Also, I'd like to see:

Hollywood Walk of Fame
Planet Hollywood - I must have a t-shirt

I know there was more...my mind is drawing a blank right now.

4. I need some retail therapy (my mother is getting me a list)
5. Hollywood walk of fame sounds cool

Can't think of anything else?

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

It sounds like with this trip being like 90% female, shopping is going to be a must.  The question is where...there are so many great places. Beverly Hills for you rich folk :p , Melrose Ave. for us not-so-rich folk who like the small botique shops  , Hollywood for souveniers...there's probably more. I'm sure Mrs.G can help me out there.

The Walk of Fame is fun and kind of all over Hollywood (at least in the area we'll all be converging). The Kodak theater also is nearby as is the Mann Chinese Theater. Planet Hollywood--not sure where that is but I imagine it's in the area! :D

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

I think I'll pass on Beverly Hills shopping (can I just browse?), sounds too rich for my blood. Melrose sounds more suitable for me. Although coming from a mid-Atlantic state, it will probably seem expensive to me. I'm used to shopping malls. I'll just be happy with tons of souveniers.

Somebody must find Planet Hollywood. :p

What about the La Brea (sp?) tar pits (the ones that lave spewed from in Volcano)? Are they worth seeing?

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

There's a nice mall called The Grove which is kind of cool, but it's mostly chain stores (Nordstrom's, Bath & Body Works, Banana Republic, etc.) that are all over. Beverly Hill is worth going just to see the shops, but I agree--Melrose is the most practical.

I've never been to the La Brea tar pits so I have no idea. But I can ask around!

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

Banana Republic????? We don't have one of those around here. I'd love to go there. We have Old Navy and Abercrombie & Fitch but not Banana Republic.

When I think of shopping in Beverly Hills I think of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when they refused to help her. Not that I'll be dressed like that. :p

Re: You're Invited: Summer Board Meeting in LA!!!

Shane is male and still likes to shop, LOL

(why do I keep referring myself to Shane and not 'I'?)

Anyways, sounds like the trip is going to be awesome. Just have to tell my parents about it and tell them it's not going to be obsessive psychopathic freaks going. ;) :p

Oh, I love love LOVE "The Grove"!! One of my favourite places in the city so hopefully we can go there and either do some shopping or get something to eat/drink.

As for shopping, if you guys want to hit Rodeo Drive I can tag along and give you advices but uhm, spending money is out of the question. I'm sure the cheapest item is worth a year's pay... I still remember the day my friends and I decided to check "Cartier": the bodyguard followed us around the -entire- time!

 BR (banana republic) is one of my favorite stores, you have to physically remove me from the store in order to get me to leave. We only have the chain stores here, and a few cute boutiques (which I love) but none of the higher end places, you have to go to Omaha for some of those stores. My mother is giving me some $ to pick something up for her, which is in one of the higher end stores. Her $, not mine! I like about everything really, Melrose, Rodeo Drive. as long as there is shopping involved, I am there.

 Yeah, I like to dress nice, but my favorite outfit is really just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
