Yelina Salas #2: 'Get Back To Where You Once Belonged'

Any of you guys watched the movie '300' I was thinking there're similarities between Yelina and the queen in the movie.

They're both strong independant women who are clearly the force behind their men. They know what they want and won't compromise.

I mean Y has always been there for H in her own strong independant way. And the reason why H has been but a shadow of himself in s4 if cos Yelina's not around.

I just hope when tptb bring her back they stay true to her character and continue to make her the strong independant woman I admire. And get her together with H, her one true love, of course. :D

Oh and the part about her coming back fulltime I wonder if she would be willing to give up her role in the other show 'Desire' to come back to Miami fulltime?

Hrockz, I've not seen it yet, but I certainly intend to. I've always admired Yelina for her strength of character and independence too, coupled with her compassionate nature. Characters like this serve as great role models. *looks at avatar* :D

Same here but near the end of season 3 they changed her character dramaticly. I mean would the strong & independent Yelina just ship off with Raymond? Without talking about the whole infidelity on his part etc?

When you consider that she didn't really have a choice in the matter in the context of the episode, then yes. Horatio orchestrated the scene at the end of '10-7' in such a way that Yelina had no option but to react the way she did. Ray Jnr went running to his father ecstatically and Yelina had to follow. As a mother, Ray Jnr was her absolute priority at this time. What was said between Raymond and Yelina once they boarded the plane (and Ray Jnr was out of earshot), we will never know. ;)

'10-7' was a rather rushed episode. So many issues were left unaddressed. I would have liked to have seen a confrontation between Yelina and Raymond about his infidelity and faked death (in Rio as a flashback perhaps, as opposed to in 10-7). However, the writers wanted a plot device to 'resolve' the Raymond storyarc and temporarily write Yelina off the show. In the situation at the end of '10-7', there was no time for any kind of discussion between them. They had to escape the Feds before they got wind that something wasn't right. It was important that they fled to Brazil quickly.

In Rio, Ray Jnr did imply that Yelina didn't have a good word to say about his father, so evidently, she didn't just meekly fall back into her husband's arms.

awww i`m afraid that Y`s frying pan have been use a lot times not only for do the cooking

Absolutely agree with you Luce . They way Y acted in 10-7 was entirely for Ray Jr's sake. She had to think of her son not her own wants at the time.

It would be so out of character if she did fall meekly back into Ray's arms. I think while they were in Brazil she did try to make their marriage work but Ray went back to his old ways.

I was waiting for someone to mention the frying pan!
So was I!

btw Luce off topic but '300' is a testosterone driven movie. If anything the great cinematography makes up for the distinct lack of plot. The king (the lead role) in the movie is just like Super -H, if you know what I mean. King's spear = H's gun ;)

yep, behind every successful man is a strong woman. :D

great movie Hrockz, thanks for this recommendation :) i agree with u that have big similarity between Yelina and the queen characters. and would love to see Yelina 'advise or manage' H action  sorry for been out of topic, but do u think Yelina will make similar self sacrifice like the queen, so to save her man life

Funny I was asking myself the same question! We H/Y fans sure think alike!

I think she would although it would come at a great price both for her and her man (ie H). I mean can you imagine H's reaction if he found out what she did just for him? It was a big sacrifice. I shan't elaborate and spoil it for those who have not watched the movie.

Hi Hrockz! Butting in here... :) 'Desire' was cancelled in december, so SM is free to come back... :D

Lunalove you aren't butting in. And you bring really good news! I hope this opens the way for SM's return. I'd love to see H and Y get together and Stetler get all jealous! Ha!

And of course for Y to show her strong side and at the same time be there for H.

*keeping fingers and toes crossed for SM to be regular in s6*

Wow. You know when you watch too much csi miami.. ;)

I'm also very glad the show got cancelled, of course it's a pitty for the fans but when it comes to my H/Y i'm very selfish.

A slight correction. "Desire" was a telenovela, which is the term used for soap operas with a purposely limited run. In other words, Desire was crafted and written to end in December all on its own - it wasn't "canceled" due to bad ratings or anything like that. With televenovelas, the work schedule is usually intense (instead of shooting 4 or 5 pages of script, you're shooting 30 pages) for a few months, but then it ends.

I watched the show (strictly for the SM presence), but I don't know how many else on here did. Even if the show had been asked to write 120 more episodes, it wouldn't have mattered because of the way finale ended.
Victoria, Sofia's character, gets shot and then falls out of a window, plummeting to her death three stories below.

So even if the show were renewed, I don't think Sofia could take part in that. Leaving the door wide open for season 6, right? :D

Thanks so much for this information - that's very interesting to know. I live in the UK, so I haven't seen 'Desire', but I would definitely watch it given the opportunity. Sofia has been great in everything I have seen her in so far (The Sopranos, Passionada, ER, Friends).

We know that she is due to film another episode of CSIM this season. If she is involved in Season 6, that would be fantastic! :D I'll try not to get my hopes up too soon though, until we hear some kind of official confirmation.

Thanks for the info. :D

I also hope there is more Yelina in the last few episodes of Season 5 and maybe a lot of in Season 6.

I also liked her in 'Carolyn in the City'. Her character was slightly crazy and very funny. I think her character wasn't very popular, because she kept Richard and Carolyn apart, but I liked her.

I can also remeber ER, but not her appearance in the other shows. :(

Maybe I would watch 'Desire', although I don't like this kind of shows very much, but I highly doubt that it will ever be aired in Austria.
