nice thread really and i´m so jealous for the so much undergraduates here i wish i´ve now younger but that´s the live. I´m 45 and single-handed get help for peoples to have problems with computer and office organisation, pity the offers are rarley and it´s bad for my exist. Now i´m searching for a good job and write shoals of applications it´s hard really, but i don´t give up alongside i´ve make a distance learning for "network administrator" and next week i´ll start language courses think "russian, turkey and spain" sure not eminently, but i´ve not lust to stand still
Cool thread. I'm 19 and I am finished Y1 of University in June. I'm trying to get a degree in fine arts for singing. I take lots of music courses, and anthropology because I want too :lol:. I work for Comcast cable...but my company is located for customers in Chicago. (I actually live in Canada) I work in the troubleshooting and billing department. To be honest I perfer the billing so much more because I don't like being yelled at when I do troubleshooting :lol: I am trying to get a job in the city where I'm from (I moved for school, but going back home for summer) and I'm hoping to get an okay paying job in retail for the summer. And go back to Comcast in the fall (I'm taking a leave of absence in case anybody was wondering how I was planning to pull that off)

Hmmmm...where do I start...lol! I am from Newfoundland, Canada, and my current trade is Carpentry, but I am also a Graphic Designer by trade aswell (though currently not working in this field). I am also a freelance artist and photographer in my spare time....that is when I have spare time. As of the last 3 months, I have had too much, waiting to get a call back to work. So....thats it for me....lol
Dude, I would love to be a jockey! I miss being able to ride every day... Let's see, I turned 26 a couple weeks ago, I live in Maryland near Washington, DC, and I'm way too busy. I'm still in school (my mother loves to give me grief about it) studying Forensic Science and American Sign Language, and I work night shift on an ambulance as an Emergency Medical Technician. I also am a volunteer firefighter, both my puppies are deaf so I bring them to the firehouse with me because they can't hear the sirens :lol: I'm hoping to transfer to the University of Maryland College Park at some point. Being fired sucks! Good luck finding a new job. I know I'm looking for one, the private company I work for is freakin evil...
I'm also standing for the older members here as I'm 40. I'm a carer for my daughter, she has autism and a whole host of other problems, so It's pretty difficult to fit any kind of out there working job around her, Oh, and the 4 other kids we have. I did used to be a betting shop manager before she was diagnosed. As I hated maths at school I have no idea how I came to end up working out odds.
Hiya, I'm 40, I work in a Pet store, and enjoy it emensely, I love the puppies, they are so awesome. I even get to bring them home on holiday's as the Pet shop is closed. I'm also doing the PIJAC tests to get my certificates in the Companion Animal Specialist Program.
Sometimes I envy people who work with animals, I love 'em... I'll be 51 in a couple days. I'm a self-employed "multipurpose designer". In short I do everything from small interior design/decorating projects to website design to designing album/CD covers to doing "hard copy" artwork. I can't work a regular job due to my back situation - more than an hour at a time in a chair and I'm in agony. So I have to stick to stuff I can do at home with frequent breaks. I also do a bit of transcription; I'm trained in medical transcription but can do all sorts of general typing. (Did it for years before I got injured...) My husband has his own web design business and I work as sort of a "sub-contractor" with that. Up until I got injured I played drums, I can still play bass and sing. Have worked professionally as a musician off and on since I was 13 and I really miss it, as I haven't done it lately!
Well, starting in June I will be working at American Eagle (clothing store) :lol: Not a very well paying job, like $8.00 an hour, but I'm hoping to find another job somewhere else as well. To be honest I only wanted the job because I wanted the staff discount :lol: But I got called for like, 2 other interviews, so we'll see if I get offered one of those jobs too :lol:
Wow, such a late reply from me, sorry. My undergraduate degree was in a related subject and then I started as a general advisor and then trained up in some of the more specialist areas of sustainable waste and energy efficiency. I'm lucky, I love my job and work with great people, but it's tough as well because people have very strong views on environmental issues and climate change, and I've had my fair share of people yelling at me about it. :lol: All in a day's work I suppose... Personally, Roos, I think your cheese job is the best in the world! I would live off cheese if I could, your job sounds so great...
I just graduated college with a Criminal Justice - Policing Diploma, so I've started as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer. It's pretty cool so far - I deal with town bylaws such as weed control, animal control, nuisance complaints, traffic control.. stuff like that. I also get to play with all the doggies at the pound, which, I'm glad that they don't euthanize them anymore!!
Currently 22 years old, residing in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I had a community college degree in computing (for media) and then I tried to get my bachelors in Life Sciences at the university but dropped out since I realized I was more a computergeek than a biology geek :lol: so currently I'm enrolled for a study in computing and hoping to get my bachelors degree in bio-informatics/computional biology not to many years from now! I don't have a side job. Don't have the time for it since I to busy with Kung Fu :lol: And I have the luxury not needing a job at the moment. I worked my ass off last year after I dropepd out and still living on that!

Quick O/T question, lol, is CSI popular there? Back on topic, that degree in Bio-informatics looks mighty interesting. What can you do with that afterwards, out of curiousity?
