I don't usually watch LV, I usually wait for Miami to come on, but theres nothing else on TV so I thought I'd watch it! And I have to say, its a pretty good episode so far!

Hello! :) I'm so glad to have found a discussion about the UK season.
oohh Monster in a box...loved the episode, but why'd did they have to kill the cat?
but the whole way the murder was set up was ingenious, I love the miniature murders!
Now I just have to wait until next tuesday for more!!

Was a very good episode I thought. Camera angle at the beggining was strange but it kinda worked, I liked how we got Grissoms reaction like that.

I was really upset when that police officer died from CD posioning, that was pretty horible. :( sniff sniff.

I think i've indentfied the MCSK from the home videos, someone on that gives me the creeps. *shivers*

What we got next week?

I liked how you could hear him opening up the box, that angle gave you the impression that you knew more than Grissom, if you catch me? We, the viewer, saw the MCS before Grissom did. Isn't it one of CSI's tricks, they go a bit slow on the cases sometimes, to make the viewer keep watching to see if they got it right. I dunno.

LV's always good.

LL was brill in that ep. I liked the scene she had with Grissom, don't get so many of them. :(

So yeah, all in all, a jolly good ep. :) I don't often write in this thread, thought I'd give it ago.

Tuesday is a totally different one. Peeps will enjoy of course. ;)

Well, I never got round to reviewing last week's episode. I thought it was pretty good, but then I do love those little miniature crime scenes. Sad about that cat though, and the police officer of course. :( I will reserve my right to be a bit annoyed with the carbon monoxide cause of death. Maybe it's because I know more about heating systems and the dangers (because of my work, not because it's at all interesting) but I could have guessed that one pretty early on. These scientists can come up with all sorts of crazy conclusions based on nothing, and yet this one seemed to pass them by for far too long. Maybe it's just us CSI fans getting fussier about the crimes, but more and more I am finding myself rolling my eyes and shaking my head at the often ridiculous premise or evidence these people can come up with. Sorry, end of little rant for now. But really, some weeks these CSI's can solve the most impossible of crimes, and other weeks they are so dumb.

One last note, I love the miniature crime scenes. As in, I love the actual miniature scenes from an artistic and creative point of view. I can't help being disappointed with this particular story arc though, I really think they should have solved it earlier in the season, and not decided to drag it out for this long. I'm sensing I will be disappointed in the long run, and that the conclusion to these stories will have more holes than a set of net curtains (best analogy I could come up with at short notice).

So, as it's Tuesday again, here is what we have to look forward to tonight, and for a change I took this synopsis from the Five website:

Fallen Idols Series 7, episode 17.
Las Vegas-based forensic drama. The CSIs investigate the disappearance of a high-school cheerleader and her basketball player boyfriend. Evidence from a nearby road suggests that one or both of them was involved in a car accident. Meanwhile, Warrick interviews the school photography teacher, who may be implicated in the case.

Personally, I can't quite believe we are up to episode 17 already! This season is going by so fast.

Thank you for the update Destiny. :)

Monster In A Box

Argh! I really shouldn't wait this long to post my thoughts. I should've posted when it was still all fresh in my mind.

I liked Grissoms reaction to the package and the camera angle. I thought it was very effective. Also, Catherine’s comment about "where's the fire" added to the moment, which I liked.

I swear when I posted about Loco Motives I mentioned that I didn't know whether they thought Ernie was the MCSK as it was very unclear. Okay, so it turns about we were all supposed to think that it was Ernie who was the killer? Well, I for one must have gone temporarily deaf during Loco Motives and Monster In A Box because I didn't hear Ernie confess. Yes, he was recorded before he died talking about life and such, but when the hell did he confess to it? It seemed to me that Ernie just wanted to end his life and having him accused of the murder just pushed him over the edge. I'm very surprised that the CSI's presumed that Ernie was the killer, because that's what it seemed like, that they just presumed because he made models and becuase someone was caught on CCTV wearing a jacket with his company came on. Now, I'm no CSI, but I thought it would have been quite obvious, considering how smart this killer is, that he was unlikely to wear his own jacket with his own company name on whilst delivering the model to a doorstep. Maybe I'm been overly critical, but I feel that the CSI's are underestimating the killer.

So, now with the message of YOU WERE WRONG on the pictures we can be lead to believe that this guy is trying to tell a story or trying to make the CSI's understand his story. Reminds me a little of Paul Millander.

As for the stake out, another example of the killer being underestimated, I knew full well that he wasn't going to show up, that much was obvious. When Brass was sitting in the lobby on the look out, I thought maybe I was overestimating the killer because I really thought that someone should have given the FED-EX guy a little more attention. Anyway, as it turns out, the killer, as I predicted initially, didn't show as he had no reason to show (and I agree with Elsie that they should have picked up on the carbon monoxide before). I figured that he expected the CSI to foil the murder, as that appeared to be his intention by giving fore warning.

What I can't work out is whether the MCSK knew that Grissom was on sabbatical and that he would have limited time to work it out or whether he had no idea and intended to give Grissom weeks to work it out. If it's the first than I could argue that it would have to be someone very close to Grissom (someone in the lab), but given that the killer could predict what a cat would do, I can't say I'm surprised he would know Grissom was on sabbatical. The guy seems to know everything.

I really felt for Sophia in this episode, poor girl. She was clearly very upset.

As for the Cat murder, I found it quite hard. I also felt that there was no need to show the cat on the autopsy table whilst Dr Robbins was on the phone. :(

Argh, I want to know who this is and I want to be surprised by who it is. I don't want to be disappointed with it being some random architect, who visits a shrink, who has OCD and doesn't like music by Izzy. I know that chances of me being happy with the outcome are less than 5% and the outcome of it being someone in the lab is less than 1%, but I wish TPTB would shock me. I would really like it to be someone we know.

Overall 9/10

Wow I can't believe we're on Fallen Idols already. It doesn't seem long since I started my countdown to the season premier :D

Fallen Idols

Before watching the episode I thought I was going find it very average, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not saying it was a fantastic episode, but I thought it was very good. I loved the beginning when Grissom narrated about photos and I loved the freeze frame they did during the basketball match. This, to me, made it stand out from being an average CSI episode.

It seemed to be more of a 'CSI boys' episode. Nick was fantastic. He seemed to have the center stage in this episode. I loved his performance with Charlie in the interrogation room. At last Greg got a decent amount of screen time (more than 2 minutes ).

The plot line was very interesting and as the story unfolded I found it more interesting. I found the ending a little gross. Strange what some people will do for a photo.

Is it me or did Nick really different in this episode? Amazing what a little bit of hair growth will do.

As for the ending with Sara shaving off Grissoms beard, well, I was just pleased the beard was going.

Overall 7/10

I really liked Fallen Idols. It's not the best we've had this season but certainly not the worst.

I thought the case itself was above-average and I was also pleased enough with the amount of Greg we got

I am also pretty happy that the beard's gone(or was going). Go team clean shaven!

Right-o so...
I remember. Memory like a sieve.

Beardy go bye bye first off. Which is awesome. Plus there's the fab way it was taken off, although I thought it was a bit strange where it was placed in the ep, but I'm not complaining, lol. :)

I loved how it was all revealed, a bit different to usual, the boy with the camera, don't remember his name, is a great actor. When he said "I was holding the light and the cue cards." I died a little inside.
The scene in the interrogation room was perfect, George Eads doing his thang. :)

The scene when they found the boys body was impressive, guns drawn and the clicking of the camera, had me nervous. Oh, and notice G's torch pointed right at Warrick's ass.

*whispers*Peeps see the teacher, Diane's hand twitch when the pills were taken away from her?

I didn't like how they didn't check for a pulse either, they didn't know how long they had been dead. Or was that when Brass felt their legs? I don't know. I would hope that if I was found they wouldn't just assume I was dead. :S

One last thing, lol, I never knew Americans pronouced Megan 'Maygan'. Sounds cool though. :)

Yep that's me done. Toodles.

I didn't notice that! When I get the DVD I'm going to look out for it.

You know what. I really need to remember to review sooner than a week after the episode, my memory is just not up to it!

Fallen Idols, OK episode. For me though, the highlight was right at the beginning with one of my current favourite songs (Good Enough - Evanescence) and the impressive camera work. Pretty cool stuff. :D

As for the actual case, I found myself to be not that bothered as to whether they found the girl or not. I don't know it just wasn't great. That said, CSI still manages to surprise me, with the other girl dying (completely unexpected I thought) and the bizarre Romeo and Juliet style ending, what was that about? Freaky.

Things I did like, Nick taking charge a bit, it's about time. I think it showed Grissom's respect for him and his investigative skills.

As for the beard, well I was quite liking the newer rough looking beard. And believe me, my husband wouldn't let me anywhere near him with a razor! The scene didn't bother me, but it did seem random and tacked on for the sake of explaining away the beard? Or for including some relationship action? I don't know, but then I'm not that bothered about it either way.

Onwards, Tuesday once more...

Empty Eyes

While processing the house where several showgirls were murdered, Sara is haunted by the terrified eyes and cryptic dying words of the sixth victim she discovers.

I've heard it's a Sara-centric episode, which could be interesting. Six victims though? Seems like CSI are going for a mass crime scene so we can assume it will be another one case episode. Personally, I miss the days of A and B cases, it seems like they are in the minority nowadays...

Hee hee! With you all the way!

I loved Fallen Idols, personally. The voice over at the beginnig was like melting chocolate... I could listen to Grissom reading a telephone directory! It is such a rich voice.

The beard was better too - tamed by garden clippers I think, before Sara did a Sweeney Todd act on him in the final scene. Who needs clothes being ripped off when that seen was so much more sensual? It said so much in so few words... he is going to change and she can remove his mask and open him up to the world for who Grissom is. Lovely idea.

The case was interesting too. Oops! Another Head of Year walked in!! Will finish later!
