During the winter months its between 35-50 degrees, but I don't think it ever really snows. If it does, then it doesn't get too bad. I might be wrong though.

I found some information for the average monthly temperatures here. Hope that helps.

    Thanks a lot!
Hm I've got another question: are all CSI's allowed to have weapons? (I'm especially thinking of Greg because he's lowest in rank - do you need to achieve a certain rank to get the permission?)

I'm not sure that all CSI's can just carry a weapon. Typically any officer at a violent crime scene is going to opt to carry a weapon but proper training would be needed in order to use and carry one.

I got a question about my new story, It going to be a sequel to 'The Vanished.' I can't think of the new story for the sequel of 'The Vanished.' Should I put 'The Vanished 2' or what? or should I come up with the new story. Sometime I do good with the title and sometime I don't. I need help here.

^ I suggest naming it something that refers to the first story so people know that it's a sequel and don't think it's a completely new story. :) But if you were thinking of 'The Vanished 2', it might not attract as many people to your story. I find that a title will pull in the reader as much as the plot concept. You could maybe extend your title --Ie: 'The Vanished: Unseen Traces' or something of the sort.

But it's all on how you want to present the title since it's really as important as the story itself. :)

As for coming up with a new story, like you infered, it depends on how you feel. You may want to delve further into the first story by creating a sequel and develop the concept you've started with, or you may want to channel something different with your creativity and branch out into various aspects either character-wise or plot-wise.

Thanks, speed cochrane, you are a big help. I will thinking of something, 'The Vanished: Unseen Traces' seem good. I will have to write on the piece of paper before I post it, so I can come up with the title. It won't be post 'till I finish The Vanished first before I do sequel.

How about this title? Disappearing without a Trace? This look like a sequel to 'The Vanished.'

I think it's great!! And you know you should also add the link of the first part on your post. This way, those who didn't read "the vanished" will be able to read both. ;)

Question: If I wanted to remove a story I posted coz like, no one was reading it, or I just didn't want it up, could I? Or does it have to stay?

I don't think the mods will delete it, your best bet is to just not update it and let it vansish (fall off the boards). Also, you, yourself can not delete a thread or post you've created :)

Oh, and I have a question. What are a couple of casino/hotels in Las Vegas? I can't remember any names!

^ Well there's The Bellagio, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, etc. Hope that helps. :)

As for threads being deleted, it's extremely rare at TalkCSI. (And usually only reserved for topic pruning) Although users may delete their posts, they cannot in effect delete a thread they've created. :)

I'd like to invite everyone in this thread to bring their fanfiction over to the "Fanfiction critique group" because it's a great place to get help with your fics and learn a lot from each other.

Fic question for New Yorkers out there

Looking for some help re a fic I am writing. Can you see the Manhattan skyline from Newark/La Guardia/JFK Airport, if so how close how clear and what viewpoint?

Why all the questions? Well I am writing a scene where a character comes back to NY after thinking he may never see it again, and I wanted a landing point that he could see Manhattan from.

I know you can see it from the air, and he does but this is a moment once the character is on the ground, a deep breath moment, when the character actually emotionally and physically feels and believes that he is home.

I am looking for somwhere with and OMG view somwhere with the sights and sounds of NY. This is a BIG emotional moment so any help or suggestions as to where to set it would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance.
