one thing i do know is that it is highly doubtful that he had an easy or fun childhood. it is also hard to imagine him going to church, as an adult

maybe something drove a wedge between him and his faith ... maybe something like his orientation?

could be. it could be, that aside from anything that happened to him in childhood, he just got sick of hearing that homosexuality is a sin.
also, religios people can be very close minded. i dont have that much experience with other religions, but i have experience with people trying to force thir beliefs upon others. it doesnt go. he seems like the type that if someone was very forceful with him about it, hed bolt (like me :p )

What you wrote got me thinking. If Hodges really comes from a religious background, do you think he is out to his family? Or would he hide it from them?
I can't see Hodges being religious at all but would he respect the values and beliefs of others(his relatives)?

im not sure if he restpects their beliefs, but around them he acts like he does.
i think that he is out to his sister (in my opinion he has one) but not to anyone else.

I think I would feel comfortable being the reason why Hodges needs to talk to his sister (you).

As long as those reasons aren't negative. I'm very protective of my big bro. If you ever hurt him I might just have to shred you to pieces.
