You're welcome, guys! I love the "Brokeback" references in "Bull"

Do you remember "Brokeback Mountain" promo?

Sometimes I wonder if times have really changed after all....:(

A very sad and beautiful movie and beautiful manip too.

Regarding the Nick/Greg subtext in CSI I think that, along nine years, the writers have given us a lot to look at in detail. Lots of layers and we really have to scratch below the surface to fully understand. It seems that they (especially David Rambo) most definitely don't treat Nick/Greg shippers like idiots.

I love that manip, but I hope that for our boys, they have a happy ending.

Tell me in "Bull", is that when Nick is given the Chapel card from the lady.

I agree with Seabird, sometimes it really does not feel like times have changed.

Oh, I love that Brokeback Mountain manip!

So, finally saw For Gedda. I won't start on Warrick but concentrate on that diner scene. And boy, there was something to be seen!!!
First of all, Greg looks so cute with his coy smile and Nick can barely take his eyes off him. I mean he's staring at him for seconds!!! Even when he's supposed to talk to Cath (I think it was her) he looking at his darling.
And the whole waitress thing? Forget it, it was probably just thrown in to show how masculine and straight :)guffaw:) Nicky is. Well, he shouldn't have devoured Greg with his eyes seconds before that! :guffaw:

LoneWolfe, you're right, Bull's the episode where Nick's holding the card. Ah, have to watch that episode again!!!

Wow... it’s been FOREVER since I was last here! There are so many new people, which makes me really happy. (Welcome newcomers, even if you’re not that new!) I love it when we get more people seeing The Love (It is The Love, pure and simple, and by no other name shall it be called.). The subtext is always there.

I must say I’m a bit ticked that Bull was on Spike recently. I would have loved the chance to watch it again, but alas, it seems as if that’ll only happen once the DVDs come down in price. *sigh*. Oh well.

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve been here, and now that we have a ton of new people, I’ll take the short time to get back on my soap box and start talking about The Defining Moments Of The Love wiki (www.definingmomentsofthelove.wetpaint.com). This is the place where you can post stories, poems, fan vids, whatever you want all about The Love. The original idea we had over a year ago was that we would get enough creativity posted and send it off to TPTB, to show them in a creative way that they are a couple and we want them cannon. It also shows we’re willing to work hard for it. There are rules posted on the site for submissions, if you’re interested.

Donna (candygirl1uk) and I, have been heading it up since the beginning. Now, I’ve finally got a full time job and I don’t have the time to work on it anymore, so I’m thinking of stepping down as “creator” of the wiki. I really would like to see it succeed, but I just don’t have the time, unfortunately.

That’s also the same reason I haven’t been here in so long either. I might not be back for awhile, but I wanted to check in and see how things are going, make sure we’ve got new fans here.

Of course, there was one other thing I wanted to mention. Almost a year ago now, last January, I had a freaky dream. A very vivid freaky dream where Greg had been arrested and held captive in an Aquatic Correctional Facility. What does this mean? I can hear some of you asking. It means Greg was a merman. An idea for a story came out of it. I mean, how could I not write something from it? And it’s taken me forever to get the notes right and to start writing it. But I finally have. It’s called Strength of Soul and you can find it on ff.net, WMTDB, and my own personal wiki, where you can get an automatic email update when I post new stories or chapters(www.queenoftheuniverse.wetpaint.com). And for those interested, in some past fort, probably closer to #15 I’m guessing, Wojo was happy enough to post a manip of merman Greg. Go search for it if you want. It was really cute.

Someone mentioned holiday fics... “Strategies” by Caster, can be found on both ff.net and WMTDB. It’s the best xmas story I’ve ever read that deals in a humorous way with the problems of ‘popping the question’, from an unexpected pov. Lol, I always thought it would be the other guy doing the asking!

As for the recent eps, I loved the one with the old hotel. And I agree, the fact that Nick let Greg talk about old Vegas was sweet. The funny thing about mentioning that they seem like an old married couple is that it reminds me that people have said that about my relationship with some of my friends, which is hardly subtext at all. But I still love the idea that they act like an old couple, it shows just how much their relationship has grown and become solid. With all of the talk going on here, you’re making me think that someday there might be a big reveal. Perhaps toward the end of the show. At the beginning of this season, I was thinking, things wouldn’t work out between them for various reasons, Riley as one of them maybe, and TPTB just not seeing it and taking our dreams away. But after reading this, you’ve renewed my faith in The Love just a little bit more. Thanks guys!

*remembers how Nick punched Pig in the gut for beating up his man and gives an evil grin*
Night guys!

^^ Love this manip. Man how that movie made me cry. Its about time the writer caught on to whats really going on. Perhaps they thought if they just ignored the shippers long enough it would go away. And then David Rambo, was like 'Guys, theres no way thats gonna happen and you should stop treating them like idiots.' Nine years people. All they have to do is look at this thread to see the obsessiveness that we take with this ship. Loveing the caps of the LOVE looks everyone. Past couple of episodes have been decent for the LOVE.

I love this picture, it sooo tells how Nick and Greg interact and react- or is that only me? Funny enough Brokeback mountain is previewing on my recorder lol...

Obessioned. Totally. In denial- never...

Just wish that I had something more challanging to say.

The fact is that no matter who or what, tries to come between Nick and Greg, they're together and they will belong together no matter what... regardless of their offical "status" as a pairing etc...

Nine years is a long time to continue an obession without being backed up or blown away, and over the years its been backed up a lot...

For Gredda is the most memorable, cause of Greg's smile... and Nicks longful look at him and not at the waitress at all...

"devouring Greg with his eyes"...No words are needed here, right?

Welcome back, QOTU! It's great to see you again on The Fort.
QOTU said: *remembers how Nick punched Pig in the gut for beating up his man*

We've never seen Nick as angry as he was after Greg was beating up in "Fannysmackin". If Warrick hadn't stop him, Nick sure would have kept punching Pig, he couldn't control his temper this time. That must mean something, right? It was like "a public declaration of love" and Greg wasn't even in the scene! ;)

George Eads talked in an interview about "Fannysmackin", and he said that "hearing that Greg got beat up by a bunch of guys who don't even have the guts to fight one-by-one, well that doesn't settle too well with Nick", Eads said. "Nick would want to line all the men up and take each of them on for messing with Greg" :adore:

When Nick hears Warrick saying that "he had found Sanders' hair on the pavement".... :(

Everytime when I think about Fannysmackin' I see how much Nick cared about Greg. At first sight it's not a Love ep but when you see Nick's face expression when Warrick found Greg's hair - so telling moment. Thanks seabird for these George's words - he said perfectly how much Greg meant for Nick. Btw, like always great pic reminders:)

I watched Primum Non Nocere. It have not good Love moments 'cause Rick was in the DNA lab with Nick so no extra action there, lol. But seriously - again Nicky had a gay moment. When he came with Rick to this jazz club in casino he noticed singer who was very attractive woman and then just turned his head and went at the crime scene. Warrick was staring at Lily for a while. Well, if Nick were hetero surely he would stay with Rick and start to tease him about it. You know, man's competition or something. But no, Nick totally didn't care. When they both were at the crime scene Warrick mentioned Greg. Camera showed for a second Nick's face - maybe I noticed smirk or something similiar or it was only my imagination? And next scene which showed Nick and Warrick checking bins. It was funny to see Nicky teasing Rick even he sucked a bit, lol. Greg's Texan was just a bit clueless with this all teasing thingy. He only used a moment 'cause Rick was stressed already. But when situation was different surely Warrick would spot that Nick's tries to be straight 'cause he's in closet were sometimes senseless.

Welcome back QUOTU:)

And I love this Brokeback Mountain manip with our boys:D

Welcome back QOTU!

I have to agree. Fannysmackin' is without any doubt one of the strongest and most intense Love episodes and Nick and Greg don't even interact! How much does that say about the strength of their love!!!
Just the way Nicky reacted. I mean he didn't even know that the guy he was about to punch was the right one. No, just one word from a "bystander" and he was gone! He actually hit an "innocent" man. The only time he got physical (hey, no dirty thoughts here!) was with suspects (e.g. Gum Drops).

Plus I still think he didn't have to be at the arrest. But he went anyway just to make sure the people who hurt his Greggo would pay!

And how great is the quote by George?!

So, it's the time of the year again and I figure it's time to ask the question (again): How do you think the boys will spend their Christmas?

I think if they don't have to work they'll probably stay at home with a nice Christmas tree, their dog (yes, somehow I picture them with a dog) and will call their parents on Christmas.
If they should have a few days off I could imagine them flying either to Texas or California.

Fannysmackin' is a true Love episode! Thanks for posting the quote from George, I love it! Shows that even George knows how much Nick cares for Greg. Perfect.

Can someone please clarify about David Rambo? Did he say something in an interview? Is there a link or something? I love to think that writers are aware of fans supporting the Love!

QOTU thanks for the link about the wiki site, I think I've been there before, but as I didn't bookmark it I didn't revisit. I'm going back now!

I too think the boys will spend Christmas at home, with each other. I think that they would like to have a dog, but with their schedules they possibly have agreed it wouldn't be feasible, but that's just me. Maybe their neighbour has a dog they can spoil. Aside from probably having to work, I imagine them just enjoying each others company. Good question love_fan!

This thread and another one re: Greg getting his promotion inspired me to write another Love fic. If you know my link head on over, if not, pm me! (It's rated M so I can't post the link here).

LOVE the Love!!

ITA. Fannysmackin' (even when is still so hard to watch for me) is one of the best Love eps and it was there so visible our boys' love. And again yay for George's quote - I can read it ten thousands times and still love it:thumbsup:

I'm not a fan of Christmas time 'cause for me it's boring and always you need to meet part of the family which you really don't want to know but you must... But for our boys I see nice Christmas in home, prefer only a celebration for them both. After Christmas Eve they can go to meet their families in California and Texas.

Can someone please clarify about David Rambo? Did he say something in an interview? Is there a link or something? I love to think that writers are aware of fans supporting the Love!

I don't have any links to see Rambo's words about Love. He's supporting The Love but he never said that he likes the ship. I think that any writer for CSI didn't say clearly their opinion about some ships which they wrote. One of favourites David Rambo's characters is Greg and he really likes to write him scenes. He mentioned that he likes Greg and Nick's interaction too. For us it's obvious 'cause few time he gave us a very strong hints. But anyway, he didn't call himself a Love shipper but definitely supports our boys:)

Hope this helps answer your question: I had gotten an email from David Rambo (I had written him about Nick and Greg working together because at that time they never did) and he said that he agreed with me and thought that they make a great team. After that we started seeing them work together more and more, so it's obvious he likes to pair up the boys.

We also recently learned that Mr Rambo is gay and that he was going to or did marry his partner.

So, I've never posted in The Fort before... But there's a first time for everything, right? I'e been a Love fan for about... six months? Maybe seven or eight. I've been in love with CSI for years, but I never really thought about shipping for it until I saw an episode of CSI where I noticed VERY clear subtext between Nick and Greg and thought, "Wow, is it just me or do they seem to be an item?" :) Anyway.

I think that everyone before me has made amazing points and helped to boost my faith in The Love. :) Besides TPTB, no one else in CSI or CBS has ever tried to deny The Love, I don't believe. I think it's because they know it's hopeless. ;)

Speaking of The Love subtext:

Maybe it's just me, but I noticed that in "Gumdrops", when Nick, Sara, Warrick and Greg were eating lunch (or maybe it's dinner or breakfast for them?), it just so happened that Greg sat beside Nick. Now usually I would overlook this because it's not that big of a deal, you know? But with all of the evidence that supports The Love, and all of the subtext, interviews... I just thought it further supported The Love. Especially since Greg is a renowned flirt, and he has been "known" to have this thing for Sara, so naturally, why didn't he sit beside her? Wouldn't most guys want to sit beside the girl they are attracted to? And we know that Greg is not a shy guy (but there are moments where I think he's a bit shy around Nicky). So wouldn't he sit beside Sara? But no, he sat beside Nick.

Also, in "Bite Me", did anyone else notice how uncomfortable Nick was when the dentist unbuttoned her blouse to show Brass and Nick that she had no bite marks? I mean, of course that would be an awkward situation, but there wasn't even the slightest stare, gape, look or notion of interest on Nick's part; in fact, he almost paled it looked like. He was quick to turn away and get the mould that she was to bite into. (And it reminds me of Sillie's little comic drawing of Nick being afraid of breasts!) I don't know about everyone else (though I have an inkling), but to me, Nick blatantly turning away from an attractive women flirting with him openly... Well, it speaks volumes.

PS - THE PORNSTACHE IS ON SPIKE! *snickers uncontrollably*

Welcome to the Fort, spillednotes! You'll like it here!

Which episode was it that turned you into a Love shipper?

Ah, yes, Gum Drops. What a great episode for Nicky and being on a case with Greg is always good. I loved the breakfast scene, too. Seeing them sitting next to each other, having fun with their colleagues. They're just right.

About Bite Me, I did notice Nick being uncomfortable, too. I mean even Brass had a reaction to that woman but Nicky, well, he looked a bit terrified, didn't he?

First of all, welcome back QOTU!
I absolutely love your new fic. Greg as a merman = (cleans off drool smudges). That kind of reminds me of the scene in True Vinyl where ES's character gets dumped into the water. For some reason, I couldn't find the photo manip you mentioned that goes along with the story.

Another great holiday NG story is Sara's Girl's new story, Spirit (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4720445/1/Spirit)

Awesome manip Catlover! I'm surprised to say that I love the manip almost as much as the GSPD series. (I'm assuming it's the same Catlover). I'm especially amazed by all the people on here who can do the visual art stuff as well as write well. I feel I am permanently limited to sufficiently utilizing one form of creative expression.

Since we've been talking about fanfics, is this an appropriate place to post about NG fics (or at least ones that aren't on talk.csifiles's fanfic forum)?
