The Football Thread #4 - It Is Not Soccer

Its a good funny football song. I love it. I don't dislike Ollie Kahn, I always liked him despite him being on the German team. I much prefer him to Yans Lehmann.

Well BREAKING NEWS folks

Wow   Pretty shocked to be honest. Didn't he also leave Bradford when he managed to keep them in the premiership before?

Read on BBC Sports that he might be going Man City if they complete their takeover.

Oh I like Lehmann since the WC quarter finals vs. Argentina *lol* He was awesome then. But I was very shocked before the WC that Kahn wasn't no.1, but I guess Lehmann deserved it, he was better at that time.

Oooo our deputy head is a Shef Utd fan, was not amused this morning...don't really like Warnock so was happy to see them go!
I can't believe Paul Jewell has gone that is pretty sad, he's done a good job at Wigan, am glad they survived!

Am very happy we finished above Arsenal cause I can give the kids I teach a bit of stick now! Bring on Milan, kinda sad Robbie didn't score yesterday, but what a legend!

Great stuff, West Brom beat Wolves in the away leg, c'mon the baggies be great to have them back in the Prem!

Gutted West Ham stayed up, I hate hate hate them this season. Its unjustified that they stayed up, Teves shouldn't of even been allowed to play. Fair enough they won 7 of thier last 9 games but still, its BS! Well gutted for Sheff. They didn't deserve to beat us (Rovers) that was the biggest pile of turd i've ever seen. Happy for Wigan though, didn't want them to go down. The chairman (canna remember his name now) used to own a little shop in Blackburn which my dad used to go to as a kid. Mad.

Jewels gone?! Wow! Wonder where he's gonna go now.

You guys think Big Sams off to Newcastle? Any news on Owen on that note? heard he got carried off again.

I felt for Sheffield though, I would have prefered West Ham to go down but Man Utd have nothing to play for
Argh, me too. I wanted West Ham to go down  No offense to any Hammers fans.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm going with Man Utd for the FA Cup. Win one, win all, right? Chelsea's grating on my nerves A LOT this season.

Since Pearce just got sacked, I think Big Sam might be going to City.

Jewell has left for Health reasons apparently. Dave Whealan said this afternoon that Paul had been suffering alot from stress and it had affected his family life so he is taking a long break from football and PJ asures DW that he has not been poached from another club

I believe Newcastle Utd have are holdng a Press Confrence tomorrow to announced the appointment of Sam Allerdyce.

I don't know what avenue Man City will go down, maybe they might appoint the assistant managers like they did with Bolton and Wigan

Re: World Cup - I was ellated Germany knocked Argentina out of the WC in penalties.....did I just say that   I guess Germany are the lesser of 2 evils  Once England and Holland were eliminated I was supporting Germany, although it was first and last time
I just thought they held a fantastic world cup and deserved it more than the other 3 semi finalists *cough* Portugal *cough*

I was Team Francais in the final....I have a bit of a soft spot for ZiZu

Oh yes the world cup was great *sighs* best summer ever I think, it was awesome! thx for supporting Germany *lol* I can return that - I support England as long as they don't play against us. And at least we beat Portugal in the last match!
I still don't know what to think about Zizu in the final, man I was shocked! He deserved a better goodbye match - e.g. with the Cup in his hands.

It was an amazing summer last summer, Football is religion in our country so when its World Cup time normal life kind of haults  I had a fantastic 4 weeks, except the Penalty Shoot out agaisnt Portugal I was heartbroke :(

I think if England get though to the Euros we shall go to Switzerland/Austria to enjoy the atmosphere.

I remember Euro96 in England it was fab :D :D

I was gutted for Zizu in the WCF, I don't approve of his headbutt but I can forgive him as I think he was provoked  bloody Iti's winning

Argh, me too. I wanted West Ham to go down No offense to any Hammers fans.

I simply wanted them to go down because of Lucash Neill, I mean, he wanted to go to the Kop, they didnt want him so he went to WH who offered to raise his pay to £60000 a week or something ridiculous like that! That is insane! Also, Tevez should never of been allowed to play, unjustifiable and wrong. Sheff should be still in the Premier League.

Is Owen ever not injured? Seriously, he's always down and out.

June I so agree with everything you said! And I'm really fascinated about how foootball is celebrated in England, I'd love to watch a match at Anfield... Football may not be a religion here (well, in Gelsenkirchen and in Hamburg/St. Pauli it is!), but WC is always something totally different. My sister can't stand football but when Germany beat Sweden I met her in the city later with a Germany cap and bikini top *lol* Well Austria/ Switzerland isn't even far away, but I guess it'll be difficult getting tickets.
