Excellent a football thread! I am a Man Utd supporter here in South Africa and there is a unbelievably huge fan base here for English Premier League Soccer. Many Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton, Aston Villa and Arsenal fans. And believe me here it is a battle just like it is everywhere else fans sticking it to each other I mean. When Man Utd didn't make it to the final of the champions league I didn't even want to go to work afraid of the flack I'd have to put up with and FYI believe me it is BAD! Anyway we redeemed ourselves somewhat with the Premier League trophy I am really proud of this United squad they have really shown some guts and sheer determination not to say that other teams haven't but I really didn't think we would do this okay with the Chelski Russian Army and there seemingly bottomless wallets. I am looking forward to the FA Cup will watch it live on telly!

Unfortunately Chelsea are not tropheyless yet...there is still the FA cup, can't figure out who I'd like to LOSE more :devil:

I am so excited that the Champion League finals will be held in Athens, Greece. As a Greek I know we will provide the best CL final ever. With Zagorakis in charge Athens will show Europe & the rest of the world that we know how to party & that we can host a spectacular event ! Sadly, I will not be attending but my mom's cousin, who lives in Eleufsina, will be there.
That being said, I want AC Milan to win. I've never been too fond of the EPL & all the hype around it. I only support two EPL teams, but only because two Greeks play on two different teams (Giannakopoulos on Bolton & Samaras & Man. City) & even then they're getting shafted.. Also, I've always prefered the Italian, French & Spanish & of course, the Greek league. I enjoy the talent & pace of those leagues much better. Anyhoo, may the best team win but something tells me it's gonna be AC Milan.

Last day of the season tomorrow Always feel a bit sad and empty when it finishes, but I gets there's always the transfer talk to look forward to!!
Robbie Fowler's contract hasn't been renewed. Am a bit sad about that, I know he hasn't been up to much and is probably past it but he'll always be an Anfield legend!
Did anyone see what Freddie Shepard said to Owen(via the press)? Told him he better stay loyal as he has alot to pay back to Newcastle and that there's no point looking to go elsewhere because none of the big clubs want him. Wasn't really sure there was a need to say this to the press about him?

I don't think Owens the player he used to be, too many injuries which fair enough isn't his fault. I'll be pissed if he walks straight back into the England squad though, he should be made to earn his place back.
What does everyone think of McClaran as England manager btw? I think he's been pretty sucky so far but I spose he needs more time right? I dunno who I would put in his place, I wanted Big Sam before McClaran took over.
I've heard it through the grapevine, maybe not a credible sorce lol. Apparently we (Rovers) are looking at buying Bellamy back but I doubt he'd come back to be honest.

I got a tad too nervous watchin the game agaisnt Sheffield today
I'm not even a fan as a rule, its just they are my local team and I can see the JJB from my bedroom window and its good for our little town havin a Premiership football team
I felt for Sheffield though, I would have prefered West Ham to go down but Man Utd have nothing to play for

Oh our local team's great at the moment, the season could have been much easier for them if they had played like this more often. Last 4 matches were won and now it's 10th rang for them! Go Bielefeld! And I'm sooo happy that Schalke lost yesterday, hehe that was their chance, Bremen lost, too. Now I hope Stuttgart will be champion! Wasn't Munich's season, unfortunately, played horribly sometimes... But next season we'll attack again!
